Poetic Endings looked after my brother's funeral a couple of years ago. They did such a wonderful job then that I had no hesitation in using them again when my sister passed away earlier this year. Once again they have been so easy to deal with and so professional, supportive and sensitive throughout what was inevitably a difficult time for my family and especially on the day of the funeral itself. Highly recommended.

Imagine how many different ideas 7 siblings can have on any subject, let alone burying our mother in her 100th year. Thankfully that we wanted the same thing a feeling that we were saying goodbye to our dear mother -and that ceremony itself would lie softly beneath that. Our vision was very much of someone who loved gardens, flowers, early mornings and was most comfortable within her family.

From the 1st meeting with Louise and Angela of 'Poetic Endings', we knew we felt we were in good hands. Our desire for a truly personal goodbye was achievable.

The whole experience, the planning, the people they matched us with: the celebrant, the florist. The willow coffin with its blanket of flowers, captured gentle joy of our mother in amongst plants. Carrying her coffin was so special. Louise guided us throughout. It felt right that we would be the ones doing this.

The whole experience was more uplifting than I could have hoped.

Poetic Endings were amazing helping us organise our father's funeral. Louise and Isabel helped us through with such care and grace. They made it feel so personal and and unique and went above and beyond to help us source a black taxi cab to be used as the hearse. On the website Louises says - Funerals have the power to honour, heal, and inspire.
With their help this is exactly what we felt our fathers funeral did and we will be forever grateful to Poetic Endings. I cannot re commend them highly enough.

We feel so blessed to have found Poetic Endings when our dad died. From our first enquiry when we spoke to Mitzi we had such a warm feeling and immediately knew he would be well looked after. At a time of grief, Louise was incredible and calmly and quickly lifted the burden of pressure from us and made all the necessary arrangements to have dad taken into their care when he died in a nursing home in the early hours on a weekend.

Poetic Endings is such a refreshing change from the stereotypical funeral directors, which look dark, dismal and morbid. The dread of sitting in a dank office dissipates as you are welcomed into this beautiful funeral home. It is a warm, comforting environment and it gives you such peace of mind knowing your loved one is resting in such a peaceful and tranquil place.

The experience we had with Poetic Endings was exceptional and completely different from the bad experience we had with another funeral directors when arranging our mum's funeral a few months ago. No attention to detail was spared. Louise and Isabel kept in touch and supported us throughout. They introduced us to Lucinda, the celebrant, who was so supportive and was amazing when she told dad's life story. The Orders of Service produced by Careprint were just perfect.

Dad's service was wonderful and everyone commented on how lovely it was. We can truly say he had a Poetic Ending.

Louise and Poetic endings organised the funeral after my brother’s unexpected death. They managed everything beautifully with tact and empathy from accepting repatriation, to the time his sons spent with the coffin, to managing the invitations and flow at funeral. All their recommendations - particularly the celebrant they recommended, Sophie Duval, were completely excellent and the printed order of service and flowers from their team where exactly right and reflected my brother just as we wanted.

When my husband passed away suddenly at just 43, my world fell apart. In that moment of unimaginable grief, I was guided into the care of Poetic Endings and I can truly say there is no place I would have rather been during such a painful time.

From the moment I walked through their doors, I was wrapped in a sense of peace. The space felt less like a funeral home and more like a warm, welcoming living room. Soft candlelight, comforting scents, fresh water, hot tea, and an atmosphere so gentle and calm, it gave me my first sense of safety after the shock. I knew immediately that my husband was in the most dignified and compassionate hands.

Isabel and Louise, you are so much more than funeral directors. You were my steady ground when I didn’t know how to stand. Your kindness, warmth, and unwavering compassion for both myself and my family went beyond anything I ever expected. Every step was taken with care, and every moment was handled with grace and deep respect.

Poetic endings organised a wonderful service and cremation of our father. Everything about the service - the office, the ambience, their attention to detail and the care they show was just perfect. They put us in contact with an excellent celebrant (Lucinda Inglis) who was conducted the service in a measured way. And the flowers - what can I say, organised by Unruly flowers they were just beautiful.

With a second bereavement within 5 months we went straight back to Poetic Endings whom we knew would now look after our darling sister’s funeral with utmost warmth and professionalism.

It was the most difficult time of my life when my partner died. I was guided gently through all that needed to be done, by Louise and her team. They helped with the decision making process but left the final decisions to me. They were empathetic and efficient in equal measure. They put me in touch with the celebrant, Sophie, who was also wonderful and the florist next door who did exceptional flowers. Their rooms are also beautiful.

On Thursday 14/12 I had the privilege of officiating at a friend's funeral at Honor Oak Crematorioum. I am not a trained celebrant so was very anxious. I cannot speak highly enough about Poetic Endings staff. They offer a personalised and compassionate service, which enabled us to organise exactly the sort of funeral that we wanted for our friend. Including having the coffin personalised and bringing our friend home the night before the funeral. Louise Winter and her colleague Sophie were patient, kind and helped with every fine detail. I have been a funeral arranger for a reputable company but we did not offer such a personal service as Poetic Endings. They really cared. Louise and Sophie (who I will never forget) were at the crematorium to ensure everything ran smoothly. Louise even responded to a text out of hours. Again offering advice and support. The staff are sensitive to the situation. I would definitely recommend this company. Totally professional, caring and made the funeral of our dear friend very special. Thank you Poetic Endings for giving a special man taken far too soon a wonderful farewell. You were incredible!

When my mother died I felt overwhelmed by the practicalities of what had to happen next.
From the moment I met Louise I felt I was in safe hands. She was kind and attentive, addressed every concern, guided when necessary, and gently helped me through every stage of decision making with clarity and care.
We had our small and unconventional ceremony at Poetic Endings, in their room that looked, felt and even smelt calm and beautiful. Our humanist celebrant, Hester Brown, recommended by Louise, was perfect for our needs. Some of our guests were half an hour late, but we were assured there was no need to worry. They were happy to wait.

It's impossible to recommend Poetic Endings too highly - they are a very special team who made one of life's most difficult moments much easier to bear.

Louise was absolutely wonderful, from the moment we first spoke on the phone when it was clear that my relative's life was coming to a close, to the end of a calm and perfectly judged service. She took us through the process so carefully and gently, and seemed always to be at the end of the phone or email, standing by to help solve problems and help us with anything that we were finding difficult in the days immediately following our bereavement, when we felt somewhat unmoored. Nothing was too small or too much trouble.

There were complexities in our family situation and Louise dealt with them with tact and care. I was able to process the emotional side of things much more easily because I felt completely confident that everything practical was in hand, that she would prompt me if I missed anything, that the funeral itself would go off smoothly - which it very much did.

Louise recommended Sophie Duval as a celebrant who would be able to navigate our complex situation, and we're profoundly grateful that she did. Sophie was truly wonderful - she just 'got' everything, and was so calm, reassuring and patient when we were trying to think through how the service should be. On the day, she managed to represent the spirit of the person we'd lost with grace and gentleness - it was an honest but also moving and celebratory service and we wouldn't have been able to get there without her. She is very special and I feel very grateful to have met her.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Poetic Endings or Sophie Duval to any family - if it's possible to find peace, they will help you do so, and they will be firmly by your side during a very difficult time.

Poetic endings organised a wonderful right of passage ceremony for my Mum. The celebrant was sensitive, eloquent and such a skilled communicator. She found just the right tone of light and dark for a moving and authentic ceremony. The care for my mums body was respectful and visiting the body happened in a lovely setting where I felt unconditional support. The family was supported, consulted and respected throughout. Many people who attended the ceremony said it was the best funeral they had ever been to. I can recommend them wholeheartedly. When its my turn to die I would trust them completely with the ceremony.

I dealt with Clare at Poetic Endings. The whole process was easy and seamless. My mother was transported from Bournemouth to London. I was gently prompted at each stage by Clare who presented me with various options to choose from. She recommended a singer for the church who was also a celebrant, she also beautifully read a moving Poem. Everyone from the company was professional and respectful. I can highly recommend Poetic Endings.
