I have emailed you and am waiting for a response

I am writing to make a formal complaint regarding your damp seal paint and to seek reimbursement for costs incurred as a direct consequence of its use.

I applied the product to three small patches in my bathroom, strictly in accordance with the instructions provided, including ensuring appropriate ventilation. I opened the bathroom window, all windows in adjacent rooms and had a desk fan pointing to the bathroom window.  However, even after a few hours, the fumes produced were exceptionally strong and overwhelming—significantly beyond what would reasonably be expected for a product intended for indoor domestic use.

The severity of the fumes made it untenable to remain in the property, despite continued ventilation efforts. As a result, I was forced to vacate my home, along with my 16 year old son, and secure alternative accommodation for the night in a hotel. I found the cheapest place, a travelodge. 

I consider this situation to fall short of the standard a consumer is entitled to expect, particularly in terms of safety and suitability for normal residential use. The extent of the fumes and their impact were not adequately communicated or foreseeable based on the product information provided.

I have attached proof of purchase for the product, bought on Amazon, along with the hotel invoice. I am seeking full reimbursement of the accommodation cost, as this expense was a direct and unavoidable result of using your product.

Day 2-
While the intensity of the fumes has reduced since application, the product has continued to emit a persistent and unpleasant odour within my bathroom. In order to manage this, I have been required to keep windows open and maintain continuous ventilation with a fan and all adjacent rooms windows fully open, this is well beyond what would reasonably be expected for a product used in a domestic setting.

This has now caused further disruption. Due to severe weather conditions this evening, keeping windows open has resulted in significant noise, disturbance, and physical effects within the property, including loud knocking and movement caused by strong winds. As the bathroom is adjacent to my bedroom, this has made it extremely difficult to rest or sleep.

It is now 23.09 on the second day. I need to keep the window open to dissipate your smell, but this is resulting in so many noises I now cannot sleep. My son had his headphones on to drown out the creaking and wind whooshing . I emailed you recordings, receipts and invoices

I consider this ongoing situation to be a direct consequence of the strength and persistence of the fumes produced by your product. It is not reasonable to expect that a consumer must endure extended periods of discomfort, disruption, and impractical living conditions in order to safely use a product intended for indoor residential use.

This issue has now gone beyond inconvenience and is having a continued impact on my ability to use and enjoy my home normally.

I would ask that you take this into account when reviewing my earlier request for reimbursement, and I expect this ongoing disruption to be reflected in your response.

I would appreciate a prompt response to this matter and I hope we can reach a resolution without escalation.

Paint colours never match when you buy more than one tin in the same colour - pathetic

Bought polar seal tape to fix loft membrane hole did not stick adhesive is useless after a day went up to check and it had fallen off not recommended for roof membrane repair. Have given 4 stars when it should only have 1 so people get to see the review.

Can't do a zero
They claim their patio paint covers up to 55square meters.
Ordered a tin of mid grey to paint patio slabs.
Used a roller as one of their suggested methods. The tin only covered 18square meters. Far, far below what the stated the maximum coverage is. Think they pulled numbers out of a hat.
The part painted dried a looks more of a baby blue.
Wrote to the supplyer on their Facebook page, and......... Nothing
Think twice before buying

Fantastic customer service!! I needed some advice for a very unusual outside painting job at home and one that the usual paint companies could not deal with. I got in touch with Polar who seemed to have a variety of paints that may do the job so asked for their help. A special mention to Anne who understood what I was trying to do, liaised with the Technical team on my behalf and provided me with options and advice on a Bank Holiday. Not many companies would go that far for a £70 order. Thank you Polar and thank you Anne.

Ordered some paint from this company via b&q market place paint never arrived contacted polar spealist Coatings direct never got back to me they take your money and don't send items.

Ordered Shed Roof Paint. 2.5 litres in anthracite. They sent me 1 litre of white anti-mould paint.

Sent it back and reordered only for them to make the exact same mistake.

Wrong product.
Wrong size.
Wrong colour.

Not once! But Twice!

I emailed them about this and got an apathetic response.

Stay well clear.

Ordered 1 tin of paint, didn’t arrive, said they will send another, still hasn’t arrived. No one answers phone or gets back to you. Either they’ve gone out of business or paint and coatings is something they do on the side.

My first order from this company and I’m pretty happy overall. I bought 5 litres of anti damp paint. Seems very good quality. It’s based on Pliolite resin and I’m familiar with this stuff having used Pliolite Masonry Paint on my house. I’m hoping this will be equally good as a moisture barrier. Time will tell.

In terms of service it would have been five stars if their carrier had managed to deliver overnight as advertised. Instead my paint arrived a day late. The delivery driver was however very professional. Reading other reviews the only criticism of Polar seems to be around delivery performance and transit times so perhaps they need to review their choice of carrier as the current one doesn’t have a particularly good reputation and it’s clearly reflecting on them.

Paint ordered direct from Polar arrives in perfect condition unlike when it comes via Amazon which leaked from bad packaging and care and had to be returned.

Was supposed next day delivery and it was a normal mug/cup type box without those proclaimed internal protective edges.
A dent in can and it arrived on 4th day, but it was christmas and maybe lack of drivers due to covid.
Applied clear coating ,will wait for the December rains. So my review is ....who knows.....! It repels but will gutters leak somehow ?
I am sure polar coatings mean well & under better time of year can deliver one day, but what happened to that dent free box. Also lid came off a bit , a very bit , -too easy for my liking....

Order placed two weeks ago and I still haven't received my goods.

So far so good with this product as it has solved a leaking problem and is easy to use. I will be using it again in the next few days in a new area of concern and delivery was very quick. The smell is strong though so good ventilation helps when using and it dries very quickly.

All I can say is this product is exceptional

Brilliant service and easy website to use... Products come from Amazon but cheaper buying via Polar. Ordered Frank & Stone paint, couldn't be happier.

Bitumenseal Polar White.
I chose this product from several having never used it before. Delivery was next day, good start!
Came very well packed to avoid damage.
Used first 5kg, very easy to apply and looks fine. Bought 2 more to complete the job, job now finished. Only time over winter will prove its worth but I am very happy as we stand.
