I tried many companies for travel insurance but I was refused on medical grounds. I came across Postcard who offered me excellent insurance cover at very reasonable rates. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company.

I've read everything tif group say about their insistence on the use of public hospitals. I still find this worrying. Much of what is said applies to Spain and I'm sure there is a problem there. Nevertheless, in much of the world (even some countries in Europe) public hospitals depend upon the patient's family to provide basic services - food, drinks, laundry etc. Because there is no way of predicting the position tif's medical advisors will take in any particular set of circumstances, you only find out whether you in fact have useful cover when the worst happens and that's really too late! Of course, an appeal to the Ombudsman will probably succeed in the end and if you've behaved reasonably - but who wants to go through all that!! I guess I'll just go on worrying because, as far as I can see, all travel insurers behave equally poorly and the tif group's personnel are always very friendly.

Simple to understand, easy to purchase, great on-line chat facility, friendly and helpful call centre and cheap! Have already told friends they' d be silly not to use postcard.
