Ramsey St Mary Post Office

Went in today with a Post Office compensation letter. I don't think the owner, Mr S Mohan, had ever seen one before. But with a great attitude he checked and sorted it for me. All done in a friendly and professional manner. Well impressed! Now my go-to Post Office!

Post office travel insurance

Collinson Group, operating under the Post Office travel insurance banner, delivers what can only be described as a masterclass in inefficiency, indifference, and systemic failure.

From the outset, dealing with them is an exercise in frustration. Communication is virtually non-existent—emails go unanswered, updates are never provided, and any attempt to obtain even the most basic information about a claim is met with silence or vague, unhelpful responses. There is no sense of ownership, no accountability, and certainly no urgency.

Their handling of claims is chaotic at best. The same documents are requested repeatedly, as though previous submissions vanish into a void. Progress is either glacial or entirely absent, with delays at every conceivable stage and no explanation offered. It quickly becomes apparent that no one within the organisation has a clear understanding of what is happening, or how to properly manage a claim.

Escalation? Forget it. There is no meaningful pathway to speak with anyone senior or capable of resolving issues. Complaints are treated with the same disregard as everything else—submitted into a system that appears designed to ignore them entirely. Responses, if they come at all, are late and inadequate.

Ultimately, the only viable route to action seems to be through the Ombudsman—an unnecessary and exhausting step that should never be required for basic service delivery.

This is not just poor service; it is a complete breakdown of customer care. For a company operating under a trusted banner, the experience is shockingly substandard. Avoid at all costs.

Why would you have the option to choose…

Why would you have the option to choose where you want your parcel to be delivered, but it takes 3 days to update that option? Disgusting service!!! Then you go to the post office to collect and there will be the most miserable woman in the world with a nasty attitude.

Poor service and unacceptable treatment of vulnerable customers, unprofessional, dismissive staff with no manners, common courtesy let alone customer service - 126 Cranbrook Rd, Ilford, IG1 4LZ

I would give the Ilford post office 126, IG1 4LZ no stars if I could.

Poor service and unacceptable treatment of vulnerable customers, unprofessional, dismissive staff with no manners, common courtesy let alone customer service. Terrible behaviour exposing their terrible upbringing which reflects very badly on them.

I'd urge everybody to stand up for fellow customers if they see any mistreatment by the staff towards customers, we are all customers, united and that's the right thing to do. Report the staff and post office to Trading Standards, EASS, the MP and other authorities.

I witnessed very concerning behaviour at the Cranbrook Road Post Office, 126 Cranbrook Road, Ilford IG1 4LZ. I witnessed an Asian male staff member treat an older, vulnerable female customer in a rude, patronising, and dismissive manner. The staff at this post office are extremely rude, they must have miserable lives and terrible upbringing to turn out the way they have.

On the day, a male staff member at the post office cashier at the back on the left side as you queue up, treated an elderly vulnerable customer in a rude, dismissive, and patronising manner. No customer should be treated that way let alone vulnerable, older customers. Any decent person and organisation knows this and values customers.

He gave incorrect information about documents, refused to properly review them, raised his voice and rushed the customer. This behaviour appears to be part of a recurring pattern, particularly affecting elderly and vulnerable customers and the community all is aware of talks about the lack of manners, education, customer service at this branch full of rude staff that do not know how to speak to customers. They have a bad reputation for this in the whole area and many people from other areas are also aware and appalled at it.

There was also another male staff that was rushing past customers, without any duty of care to people that may fall, which is also a health and safety concern.

The staff member:
- Provided incorrect information about documentation
- Refused to properly review documents when pointed out or apologise, instead was increasingly rude
- Raised his voice and made dismissive remarks
- Terrible and unacceptable tone, attitude and behaviour that is gross misconduct
- Rushed the customer when that is not customers responsibility or issue and failed to provide clear guidance

This is not an isolated incident. Similar behaviour has been observed consistently at this branch, with all customers and particularly affecting elderly and vulnerable customers. The conduct is unprofessional, intimidating, and undermines confidence in the service.

A formal complaint has been submitted to the Post Office and escalated to Trading Standards (Citizens Advice), the Equality Advisory Support Service and other authorities. The branch urgently needs to address staff conduct and ensure professional, respectful service for all customers.

We as customers are united and if any customer is mistreated in any other way we will step in and also report it.

The Post Office as an organisation and the head and office needs to address these issues immediately and seriously and ensure staff and branches associated with them provide professional, respectful and competent service and remove association with those that do not or that commit misconduct against customers who are the ones that fund the profits of the organisation and the staff's wages, to provide respectful service not for them to be abusive, otherwise customers will choose alternative businesses with staff with good upbringing and conduct, which are basic facts they can't understand.

Post Office - never knowingly taking responsibility

Trying to keep this short...
A delivery company correctly delivers a parcel to local post office. That parcel is then removed by another delivery company and 'lost'. They can remove it from that post office because of lax processes and lack of security. Complaint to Post Office got nowhere and they say up to us to chase up with parcel company that took the parcel. In meantime, the sender and the delivery company who did their jobs are the ones trying to resolve; not the Post Office nor the parcel company who took it off the premises. Post Office wipe their hands of this; not their fault so,sorry, case closed. A perfect illustration of UK today.

Rude and not helpful staf member.

One star due to very poor customer service from one staff member.
There is an older male employee who is consistently rude and tries to pressure customers into paying for next-day delivery, even when it’s not needed. This makes the experience very uncomfortable.I’ve also had issues with parcels when served by him. Recently, I sent a 24-hour tracked parcel from Erith and a 48-hour tracked parcel from Plumstead. The 48-hour parcel arrived on time, but the 24-hour one is still stuck on “dispatched” with no updates.Never had any problems when served by other staff members, who are polite and helpful. Unfortunately, this one employee creates a very negative experience.I will be raising this through the official complaints process.

Total scam

I posted my documents with registered post to complete my DBS, they lost my drivers licence. My claim was never heard. Sent all the evidence, they say it has already been resolved. What a scam!

Unreasonable delays and lack of communication

I am very disappointed with the handling of my claim.
The process has taken over 3.5 months, with repeated delays and a lack of clear communication. I had to follow up multiple times just to receive updates, and at one point I was incorrectly informed that a third party had not responded, which I later confirmed was not the case.
Although my claim has now been assessed, there has still been a delay in payment despite providing all requested details promptly.
This situation has caused unnecessary stress and inconvenience. I hope the company takes this feedback seriously and improves both communication and processing times for future customers.

We sent a birthday card to our son in…

We sent a birthday card to our son in Perth Australia. It was weighed and we paid the correct postage at our local post office. It was posted in good time, 2 weeks before his birthday and were told that it would be there in 7 days. IT TOOK OVER A MONTH! I don't know if it was Royal Mail or Australian mail but it really was bad.

It's a shame really as the woman who delivers our local mail is amazing. Always delivers with a smile and in all weathers. What a pity that the service isn't consistent or that there are not more people like her working for Royal Mail.

Very poor customer service at this branch. Staff were rude, unhelpful, and came across as aggressive instead of assisting with a simple request. The whole experience was uncomfortable and unprofessional. I would not recommend this location.

Very Helpful

I needed to return a piece of medical equipment but I didn’t have any packaging. They provided reasonably priced Jiffy bag and wrote the delivery details, for the Post Office 24 hour tracking which I was so pleased about as I have a tremor and my hand writing is a bit shaky. Definitely 5 star service !
