“God, I feel born again.”
I was lost when it came to training for many years. I would train sporadically, not being consistent, without an actual plan. I wasn’t making any progress.
I had listened to the podcast for years and decided to sign up for Power Athlete training. I joined Grindstone in June of 2021 and I have not looked back since.
I am the strongest I have ever been, I move better, my body composition has improved and I am lifting injury free for the first time ever.
This is the best training system out there, without a doubt. John is a fantastic leader, the community is top notch and the training and nutrition programming is excellent.
Stop screwing around like I was and start moving some dirt!!!
Grindstone
Father of 3 (ages 6/4/2) and healthcare administrator. Have followed John and PA team since CF Football days, but Grindstone has proven to be my go-to for the last 5 years.
The programming is built to be adaptable and nimble, allowing me to work it in as life shifts. One recent “shift” was moving family from Cincinnati to Dallas/Fort Worth. GS was the anchor that kept my sanity intact.

Power Athlete's programming is great…
Power Athlete's programming is great for anyone and has options for any fitness level. I have done Jacked Street, Bedrock, and thoroughly enjoyed both and saw improvements in my overall strength. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to improve your overall fitness and strength.
Best programming and environment by far!
Power Athlete delivers the absolute best programming, education, and environment to create bad ass athletes. I’ve been following them since the CrossFit Football days and have gained 40 lbs of body mass and hundreds of pounds on my major compound lifts. I change programs every few years as my goals shift. I’ve done JWOD, Jacked Street, Field Strong, and currently on Grindstone and can say definitively that they all deliver serious gainz!

I’m not one to write reviews but I am gonna make an exception here and keep it simple. Power Athlete is the best online training out there.
Have been following since the Crossfit Football days and I am currently on their Dragon Slayer program.
Each program is designed to meet your training goals and needs. You will not be disappointed and if you are, then you clearly are not cut out to be a Power Athlete or should I say BAMF.
The best programming around
I have been following Power athlete programs for over 2 years now. I love the programs and have used a few different ones depending on my schedule and goals. It has dramatically improved my athleticism vs just walking into the gym and trying to figure out what to do on my own.
Best training program I've done
Best training program I've done, hands down. Super challenging, good guidance and coaching, lots of fun.
Mixed
Programming is great, good variety depending on your goals. Supportive community. Lose 1 star for the terribly clunky Train heroic app. And lose another star for the condescending and sarcastic way Coach/CEO answers questions from the community. Going so far to recently telling everyone they should do the methodology course ($600) to understand an ab movement. And don't dare ask for help understanding why a movement is included, he'll just get defensive and make you feel like an idiot for asking "why we do this."
Edit: changed from 3* to 2*. I just came back this morning and saw PA's response below which sounded reasonable, so planned to email and hopefully clear any misunderstanding up. I then go on the team discord to see Coach/CEO has outed me, telling me to "f### off" and leading an avalanche of abuse from others such as a "b### hurt baby", "pretentious p#####", and one guy wanting to fight me. I don't see why it couldn't have been resolved privately, as a professional CEO and company would have. And with a response like that to a 3 star review, it exactly proved my point of the tone, snark and aggressiveness you get spoken to with if not deemed being up to their standard, and why it's not something I could have raised directly with Coach/CEO previously. The methodology part was a bad example, I don't care they upsell (they're a business) it was just an example of their terseness in interaction. I've now been told I can't participate in any future Q&A just to top it off. I recently renewed my membership as I truly love the program, but that will be the last time

Becoming a HAMR
4 years ago, I was searching for programming that stands out from other online solutions and typical powerlifting/bodybuilding approach. I stumbled across a PA Radio podcast where the crew discussed which program Thor would be running, and it immediately caught my attention. I signed up for Jacked Street - got big, then Field Strong - got strong and athletic AF and now with increasing lack of time due to family/work obligations I'm still kicking ass with Grindstone. If there was no Power Athlete, I would never be a certified HAMMER!
Power Athlete Dragon Slayer
I’m utilizing Dragon Slayer and it’s been great. Fun and intense, I’m strong, athletic and well conditioned on the mats. Even when my BJJ training takes a dip due to work/life constraints, my conditioning stays high because of the DS programming. Highly recommend for anyone in a combat sport.

The community that power athlete has created is amazing. My enjoyment for fitness has increased a ton... Not to mention my actual fitness level. I literally can't say enough good about it.
Not just banging weights
I have been training with power athlete for just over a week and I feel like I’m going to hit my biggest PRs within the next 6 months. It’s not just banging weights. Not only is it helping with my overall strength gains it’s also driving my athleticism and mobility. The program uses warmups to build your key stabilizer muscles that aren’t the fun lifts but are, as I’m finding at my age, very important especially when lifting heavier. A great program focused on real world performance and not just to look pretty.
Take it for what it’s worth as I have only been on it a week but I have already noticed a difference. I have lifted off and on since I was 19 and have been a competitive athlete my entire life. I trained mostly in full range of motion bodybuilding lifts.
One week in and I can feel the gains!
One week in and I’m already feeling stronger and more importantly, athletic. I’m starting a fire academy at 36 years old and I feel like this programming is preparing me to be at my best. It has the right amount of strength work to conditioning ratio along with movements to enhance athleticism. I’m sold!
HAMR is the real deal
Just to give a shout-out to the team working on HAMR - before PA I was burning the boats every day with CrossFit style workouts without much to show for it. Ever since transitioning to HAMR I have made 100 lb gains in deadlift and squat as well as feel better conditioned and able to run for longer duration without getting gassed. To go from barely able to walk after a double lung transplant in 2018 to this year running a 25:30:00 three miler, deadlifting nearly 2X body weight, squatting 1.5X body weight, and benching 1X body weight is surreal. I sincerely appreciate the time, effort, and brain power that goes into these programs and can 100% attest to it working for even moderately experienced college athletes.
