Now that the company has gone bust and left several customers out of pocket, can anyone share details of the Chinese inverter/battery supplier? We have a load of useless batteries as we can’t find inverters compatible with them as Premium Lithium never completed our installation! If anyone has details of the survivors of premium lithium facebook group that would be very helpful too as I can’t seem to find it.

Beginning to think this company was set up to fail?

I'm beginning to think this company was set up to fail or perhaps just as the director (Hurray) was inexperienced - company: 10624408. In a rush to take as much cash orders as possible with very very long lead times for delivery so by the time the delivery was meant to happen they would be long gone. Luckily, I smelt a rat, as they were not interested when I wanted to see stock, and previous installs on similar sites.

Gone into Voluntary Liquidation

As others have said, this company is now in volunary liquidation.

We tried to make a Section 75 claim via Amex but then discovered that Premium Lithium had used 'Stripe', a third party transaction company. This meant that Amex rejected our claim.

Luckily we were also able to claim via 'Charge Back' and have had notification that we have been successful.

We ordered our instillation in November 2022 - paid in full for 16 Panels, 7.5KW Inverter, a smart uninturuptible power supply switch and 20KWH of batteries. We were given a target date of May 2023, that became September 2023, then December 2023 - then told that there was a software issue and the date moved to March 2023 and then we were told in January of staffing issues adding another 3 months.

The staff were always friendly but the company was not well organised and I feel for people without payment protection. There is now a facebook group for survivors of Premium Lithium.

Premium Lithium have entered voluntary liquidation unfortunately!

Unfortunately Premium Lithium have entered voluntary liquidation. Anyone with an unfulfilled order should receive a letter from FORTIS Insolvency the company handling their liquidation. You can use this letter as confirmation of your claim to your credit card company, as I have, with invoices and emails as back up. If you didn’t pay by credit card but by bank transfer/debit card you could try a chargeback through your bank - otherwise Fortis includes an application form to pursue a claim as an ordinary creditor. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Section 75 Claim to Recover over £12k

Pay Attention !!
Premium Lithium Ltd went into Voluntary Liquidation
on 24 March 2024.

Paid over £12k for batteries to be delivered & installed early Jan 24. Lots of e-mails, excuses, rescheduled install dates but nothing. Got my money back through credit card Section 75 Claim. Premium Lithium business model, execution & service level cannot possibly survive. Avoid like the plague and feel sorry for those who have purchased as their 10 year warranty will be worthless if there is no solvent business to claim against.

We paid just over £9.5k for an instillation 6 months later in May 2023. Still waiting. Given a credit note and owed just over £10k

Premium Lithium

Following a full installation from Premium Lithium in Sept 2023 I still have no documentation - specifically Warranty and MCS Certification (the latter needed for selling to the grid, a pre-requisite for offsetting some of the purchase cost). In various Premium Lithium eMails I have written confirmation that the panels/inverter Warranty is 25 years, and the Battery warranty is 10 years (extendable with premium care, lifespan up to 25 years). I was also advised by Premium Lithium - in these precise words - "Yes, you will receive an MCS certificate". However, despite reminding Premium Lithium's MD Mr Hurry that this documentation should be provided a number of times, and his promises that this would happen, it has never been supplied (and I can see here I'm not the only one).
It now appears Mr Hurry has now ceased trading as Premium Lithium (neither Mr Hurry nor anyone else has had the courtesy to advise me of this directly, nor of the alternative support arrangements which will apply), and has begun trading instead as Smart Renewable Energy Solutions Limited (Company No.15374668, of 7 Victoria, Hudson Quarter, Toft Green, York, YO1 6AD).
Clearly, I wish to discuss this matter with Mr Hurry directly, but as we know he is not responding on his previous eMail addresses and telephone numbers. However, in my efforts to track down Mr Hurry, I noticed on his LinkedIn profile that he lists MCS as an interest. I therefore wrote to MCS to directly request their documentation, and have just received the following alarming reply:
"Unfortunately, neither Premium Lithium or Smart Renewable Energy Solutions Limited are MCS Certified, and never have been under these names. This will explain why they've not been able to produce an MCS Certificate for you as they can only be generated by our accredited installers".
Obviously if so, this makes matters rather more serious, and will require notification to Trading Standards regarding both old & new companies, and Companies House regarding Mr Hurry's suitability as a company director. In the meantime, if you are reading this Mr Hurry (as I imagine will be the case) you know how to contact me, and I would urge you to do so without delay. Alternatively, if any past Premium Lithium employees are on here and can provide updated contact information, I would be most grateful. All other observations equally welcome.
Thank You.

Premium Lithium what a disaster

Having posted a glowing review in October 2023 of Premium Lithium when our batteries etc were first installed, we now are adding to the list of unhappy customers. Our installation has not lived upto our expectations, not working as we had been informed they would, in fact we do not believe they are even working correctly, we’ve used far more electric than we ever have previously (we already had solar panels) we have had no official paperwork to enable us to register our inverter/batteries nor FIT meter. We tried unsuccessfully since the beginning of November to get our installation paperwork from PL to allow us to be registered with OFGEM with promises all would be sorted. We had our last telephone call from Matthew Hurry at the beginning of January who apologised for delays and stated he would get in touch with our electricity company and sort everything out. Since then we have attempted to get in touch but as of February the telephone numbers we had were no longer in existence and the website is also no longer in use. We have now had our new FIT meter and batteries uninstalled, reverting back to how we were, using less electric but now very much out of pocket not knowing how to reclaim our monies.

Faulty batteries

We had our batteries installed in October 2023 and they worked at first but not for long. They stopped working at all in January.
Now they are flat and won’t charge. Very disappointed!! Last contact I had was an email from Nick Hurry in early February promising a site visit but now no response from Nick or Matthew. I’m now going to contact my credit card company to see if I can get my money back.

31.5.24
Just wanted to give an update. We were successful on getting our money back via section 75 claim as we paid on a NatWest credit card. We paid £9880 to premium lithium for the inverter and 20kwh batteries. We got back £6880. I had a really helpful independent installer assess our installed system and write us a report which said our system doesn’t work and a new quote to replace the batteries with Sunsynk batteries for £6880. I paid £350 for the assessment and report which my credit card company asked for. We can now change our batteries to working ones. There was never a problem with the inverter itself so we didn’t need money back to replace this part of the system.
The installer we used was 1cdm.co.uk
Constantin at 1cdm was really helpful to advise me of the options I had and even how to approach my credit card company.

Hope this may help other premium lithium customers.

Premium Lithium is a black hole for communication

I have been trying to get confirmation from Mathew at Premium Lithium that they have ceased trading and will not be supplying my batteries as ordered. My bank will not process a section 75 refund until I can prove that i will not be getting the batteries or until i can prove they are no longer trading.
I am not happy with Premium Lithium as they initially said they would support any claim under section 75 but in fact they will not respond to any email.
I am also not happy with my Bank for the way they are procrastinating.
Is anyone else experiencing refund issues.

Please avoid this company and the awful headache that will ensue when you have to go to your bank to get a refund.

I placed an order in December 2023 for installation date of winter 2024 but during my 14-day cooling off period, Duty poor communication and lack of technical data I asked for a cancellation and a refund. This was made impossible and now I am having to fill in forms with my bank so that they can help me get my money back.

Heres his second email....

Hi Paul,

It’s not B******t it’s the honest truth. Already I have applied for a DS01 form to strike the company off the register, I am waiting on an authentication code and you will see the company disappear from companies house in 2-3 weeks.

I suppose you have read some of the reviews on our Trustpilot page, from James Howard, Christopher Sparkes and Marcus Wood (2 of 3 kept anonymous or used fake names like ‘John’).

These were employees that were fired at the end of last year and have been doing everything they can to attack our company since – in some cases deleting masses of important information (such as G99 applications and site survey data – which we went through a lot of cost and effort to obtain), and sadly they have been successful, although I do of course take the majority of the responsibility for the failure of the company, as I hired them and tolerated them.

They too have found the information of the company that I set up at the end of last year for the purposes I’ve already told you about, and have tried to create a narrative that this was planned. They will undoubtedly be very disappointed when the company is struck off, I begin working from nothing again (after 2 years of total dedication – where I have personally lost everything) for a local company, and don’t run off anywhere with customers money, all of which I personally am working all hours to support them in being refunded by their banks.

This is not a nice situation to be in, and I don’t appreciate lies being added on top of that that make it appear as though I have mastermind this horrible situation for my own benefit – I am bankrupt and without a permanent home – if that had been the case I have certainly not succeeded.

I will do everything I can to support you in getting the refund you are owed Paul. Please don’t listen to the b******t

Did you pay on a credit or debit card? The first stage, if so, is to contact your bank. Everyone that I’ve worked with so far (a considerable number) have been refunded with a day or two of initiating the chargeback.

Please let me know if this is possible for you – if not I will find you an alternative. I am here to help, unlike the others. Please let me know what I can do.

Kind regards

Matthew

As an ex employee of Premium Lithium I…

As an ex employee of Premium Lithium I would like to let you know what it was like to work there. Made to work longer than needed hours with the promise of a four day week. Given no training from the start, given no help in how to sell. An HR person who was frankly more like a military prison guard than someone who was there for you. Ridiculous rules, told to take holiday when they wanted not when you wanted or needed. The Two main people, the MD and the operation manager treated it like their own playground, sacked staff if they came up with ideas and did everything for vanity. I'm so sorry for the customers and the way this place ended up, I feared all along that it was a scam. Most staff either left or were sacked after 3 months.

I am another who is making a section 75 claim. I placed an order in August for February 2024 installation. I even saw an advert in the National Trust Magazine after placing my order, which gave me confidence. However issues began when visits from the surveyor were cancelled at last minute.
AVOID THE COMPANY and any other which are subsequently opened. Now not able to make contact

Update, I put a section 75 request in last Sunday Feb 25th, the money was returned to my credit card on Friday March 1st

Shambles

After a bit of a lack of communication and no email response. I will be another one that will be seeking a refund through section 75. Reading the recent change in reviews here Mastercard can deal with this on my behalf.

Temporary charge back now through. 10 working days from first contact.

Very poor company with empty promises…

Paul Williams do you have a copy of the email from Matthew that says the company has folded. It would help those pursuing section 75 claims if you could copy it on your review.

I have the batteries that have not worked correctly since installed. Lots of promises.
In the process of identifying what assets they have that are not leased or on HP.

Same as above

Same as above. Advance order prepaid on credit card last year. Received email from Matthew Hurry advising they are unable to meet my install date due to lack of staff and advising I use section 75 if I require refund. All attempts to contact him have failed. No response to emails, no response to message left with receptionist by phone on Feb 12th. Called again Feb 16th - phone number not recognised. Avoid at all costs.

Delays, delays and then dumped

After being strung along with reasons for delays in installation (difficulty in getting scaffolders, BMS issue needing resolution, shortage of installers etc) we then received a letter like the other reviewers suggesting a Section 75 claim. All attempts to contact Matthew Hurry have failed. I would urge you to steer clear of this company - they still have batteries and so forth on their website but you could be in for a very protracted and ultimately extremely disappointing experience...

Take your money and then nothing

Yet another one. Placed an order for batteries in advance to get maximum discount. Installation was due February. That was then changed to March and now like everyone else, it appears they can't install for at least 3 months and if I want my money back, I should make a Section 75 claim. Now letters, emails and phone calls are ignored. If someone makes a Section 75 claim, the credit card company will try to recover the money from the merchant. I can only assume that the reason Premium Lithium are suggesting making a claim is because they are insolvent and don't have the funds to repay what they owe themselves. I hope nobody has paid by bank transfer.
