Commendable behaviour

I wanted to commend the staff at the Manchester Piccadilly Pret today. The team there are generally a friendly bunch and I love the food. However, today I was really impressed by how they managed to serve customers efficiently and deal with a challenging member of the public at the same time, taking a stand, making a quick decision to prevent customers being harassed, and all the while keeping calm and not providing a reaction. I don’t know if the team get training on this but they dealt with it really well - I hope the team get support too as everyone should have a good, safe working environment.

I am really sorry but the service at…p

I am really sorry but the service at Pret in Exeter High Street in Devon is worth complaining of. The staff are horribly unfriendly and cannot forge a single smile or friendly hello. I do not know what is so terrible to work for this company but it looks like hell on earth if you see their faces they look like they have woken on the wrong side of the bed every single morning. The coffee is served as hot milk and is revolting.

Please re-train staff - 1 * - given benefit of the doubt multiple times

After moving office due to a new contract i have found myself disappointed and frustrated by both staff and quality of the coffee in the Fitzrovia (49 Eastcastle St, Fitzrovia, London W1W 8DZ) when compared to Paddington and London bridge franchises.

I have given the benefit of the doubt on many occasions however nothing ever changes and staff are quite rude when you request a fresh un-burnt coffee over the preheated and re-heated milk being used from multiple containers (unwashed after use) , and also when requesting the syrup is added prior to the end of making it.

Staff require retraining, especially the middle aged, RUDE, blond lady who lies to your face and tells you its fresh milk and she "just poured it" when its clearly a lie as customers can see you making it!

the manager here is great, polite and when making my coffee is was made perfectly, so its not a store, bean or machine issue, it is simply that the barrister either doesn't care or doesn't know how to make a proper coffee with un-burnt milk.

i would also like to highlight the way breakfast food is being made, the quality has dropped dramatically since March, uneven poorly made and soggy, this never used to be the case.

PRET please for the love of coffee re-train your staff - if everyone could make a coffee as well as the bald guy at london bridge you would soar above your competitors, at present your losing plenty of custom to Paul's bakery, Caffeine and the local coffee house directly opposite.

1* - tested on over 10 occasion as work next door

Pret A Manger Kings street Hammersmith branch in London W6 review.

To be fair I’m a regular at pret and I find their food generally great!

I have never written a review for them sadly otherwise I’d have given five stars each time.
( just being fair saying this).

As they say reviews are generally composed of one bad visit, fussy customers who are never happy anyway or a genuinely bad service.
Positive visits do not normally get reviews, when a company has a lot of positive reviews its either a genuinely great company/service or the reviews are cooked.

Back to my point
Today September 29th I ordered a takeaway from
Pret consisting of a drink daily greens and a sandwich (baguette)and one pain de raisin which is my normal order.

All was well till I bit into the pain de raisin.
It was soft and gooey.
Initially I thought it had just got out of the oven and was delighted till I took the second bite then I realised it was done on the outside but not fully cooked on the inside.
It was just raw dough inside.

Being my dessert I ate this after my baguette and drink so I was too far away to go back to the shop.

Rather disappointing.

Pret A Manger I hope this does not happen often!

Pret a Manger Holland Park

Visited Pret a Manger in Holland Park on Sunday morning. Service was fine but cleanliness is a bit of a let down. Dirty uneven\wobbly tables and chairs.
I’ve not seen anyone cleanup the tables\chairs whilst having breakfast. Not likely to be back.

The Brixton Pret is fantastic

The Brixton Pret is fantastic. The management team there especially are so friendly and professional and always take time to speak with customers at the tables. That is not to say the whole team isn't great because they always are.
Dealt with my allergy query really efficiently and let me try the product for free.

Exeter Pret-A-Manger, Not Autism Friendly, Avoid ...

This was my first, and so far only, visit to Pret A Manger, a friend invited me out for a coffee and, being autistic I did my research beforehand.
The website clearly stated there would be a 50p discount if you brought your own reusable mug so, duly armed with a beautiful china mug, a leaving gift from a previous job, I awaited my friend's arrival.

She was served first and the server, a most impolite individual initially refused to serve her because her reusable mug had a lid on it and he insisted she remove it before he would serve her.

When I presented my mug and requested my drink I was refused service because my mug "didn't have a lid". Despite it being very similar in size and shape to the mugs they themselves use for serving coffee to other 'drink in' customers.

I asked why and was told "store policy". I quoted the web site and was told "that's NOT a reusable mug". When I explained I had owned the mug for many years and used it many times, the very definition of a 'reusable mug' I was very rudely asked to move along as I would not be served.

I am an extremely high functioning Autistic person which tends to makes me a little, shall we say, eccentric in the way I look and act and this makes some people uncomfortable. If the truth be told, we all know exactly why I was refused service. And it was nothing to do with "the wrong type of reusable mug".

I complained to Head Office about the rude and unacceptable behaviour of their staff and their reply confirmed my suspicions; the server was lying. The only rule about reusable mugs is the drink should be served on a tray to avoid spillage, nothing about having to have a lid.
An official apology was followed by the promise of a 'Pret Card' by way of compensation but it took six weeks and two more emails to finally get them to send it to me.
I'm not sure if I will use it, I really don't need the stress, maybe I will give it to a homeless person and make their day?

Prejudice against Autistic and other Neuro-Atypical people seems to be one of the few instances where people are happy to turn a blind eye and not get involved. Nobody wants to help the little weirdo who wears shorts and sunglasses in the middle of Winter: it's their own fault, what do they expect, they're just asking for it, acting like that ...

Have been to a few Prets scattered…

Have been to a few Prets scattered across London and enjoy that they are usually everywhere I go. Coffee is 9 X out of 10 great just sometimes I’ll get the coffee too too hot and have burnt my tongue (would probably be reheating the same milk, however good seating in the larger sites like Camden, I was always going here about a 40 minute walk just to get a coffee and occasionally a sandwich. Reasonably priced in my opinion. Salads are good have had a few different ones, like how they keep it simple and try not to have too many things!
Airport is another place where I’ll always get my coffee and sandwich.
Like how they always seem to have cutlery napkins and sugar etc available and well stocked!

Dishonest company

From the outside, Pret looks like a wonderful company to work with. However, I’ve worked with pret for about a month and it’s one of the worst experiences that I ever had. For starters you are doing slave work, especially when you’re new, the team leaders make you do all of the hard labor work and expect you to complete it at a certain time. They always pressured and rushed me. The managers sent me from shop to shop and asked me to stay longer hours than my scheduled shift but my paychecks never reflected the hours that I actually worked. They robbed me of my money and I never got paid any weekly bonuses. Some of the leaders embarrassed me multiple times in front of everyone including customers when I made mistakes. Don’t ever work here.

Pret A Manger is a very dishonest and fake company, exploiting staff to the max.
The worst company in terms of work-life balance and bullying environment.
So many people suffer mental health issues and addictions to cope with the stress and abuse!
Avoid working there.

Shaftesbury Avenue Store (Central London: Store 397)

I love going into the pret store in Shaftesbury Avenue (store 397) in Central London, you will always be greeted with a smile and great service! Samy the expert barista is always on hand to help with all your coffee needs! He will greet you with a smile, ask about your day and wish you a great day ahead! It's the small things and genuine interest he takes in his customers which keeps us all happy! Oh and after you have visited the store a few times, he knows your order and has it ready for you to promptly to pick up- the speed of service is phenomenal! Thank you Samy for making my coffee breaks every morning awesome!
