We had a very minor incident a couple…
We had a very minor incident a couple of months ago with my stepson driving his mom's car to the store (1 mile) and due to the snowy/Icey conditions slid into someones chain link fence and pushed down one of the post with no damage to the car. The homeowner filed a claim to fix the post and we did not file a claim due to no damage to the car. We live in a neighborhood where you can not park on the street at night so all 3 cars were in the driveway. Instead of moving 2 cars his mom gave him permission to take her car. I received a call from Progressive today 3/1/26 at 4:00 and Kala stated since we did not add my stepson to the policy because he lives in the home the decision was made by her/progressive to cancel the policy on 3/1/26 at 4:00 in the afternoon. I told Kala when we signed up for Progressive no one asked whom was living in the home, so it's not our fault he was not on the policy. She stated there was nothing further to discuss and hung up the phone!! Buyer beware!!!!!
Brandon is not responding
Brandon is not responding. I have had a claim open since January 2026. Now it's March already, and they haven't resolved the claim?!
I'll open a court case against Progressive for delaying and falsely claiming that my car had no issues. I do have proof of everything! See you in court!

This is by far the worst insurance company ever... they lie about rates. MY first payment was $142 then $176 the jumped to $199. When this term is over I will never do business with PROGRESSIVE AGAIN!! Stop stealing people's money!! Shameful!!

I set up my policies to be Full Coverage, paid the whole year in Advance and come to find out I was only driving with Liability. I'm very upset and disappointed because one of my Vehicles that was supposed to be Fully Covered only had Liability. That vehicle is easily worth over $100k with I got invested in it. I would have been VERY VERY UPSET due to the fact that it's a 2009 Nissan GTR R35 Premium. Not a common vehicle at all.

They’re great until you actually have to use them. Then they make you feel like you’re lying and in front of a jury! My son who has severe anxiety purchased insurance through progressive, that very same day he hit a deer. My husband who is a deputy told him to just drive it home and we will call the insurance. That’s what we did. They mentioned on the phone numerous times that it sounds suspicious and after 3 weeks of providing proof (everything they asked for) with no resolution my son pulled his claim. His anxiety was through the roof, worried sick they thought he was lying. Here’s an idea get off your butt and drive to the scene of the accident .. then you could’ve touched the dead deer on the side of the road and felt the heat from it which would’ve proved it was just hit recently, not to mention the pieces of his car still on the road. My husband and I have since pulled our boat insurance with them and I am searching for another insurance for my son.

There quotes prices are ridiculous & take you through so much to get a quote. Of course they make it impossible to make a review because they know it probably isn't going to be a good one!

The insurance is expensive and the company is so hard to work with for such a large scale organisation.
Disconnected from reality
Progressive attempted to cancel my homeowner’s policy for “non-compliance” based on alleged safety issues that did not exist.
They claimed my rear stairs lacked proper handrails and that my chimney had cracked bricks requiring repair. Both claims were incorrect. My stairs have compliant handrails and baluster spacing, and the chimney is structurally sound and not in service.
I was never notified of any required repairs before receiving a cancellation notice. Because of this, I was forced to switch insurers immediately to avoid a lapse in coverage.
The new insurer had no concerns with my property. Progressive lost both my home and auto policies as a result. I will not return as a customer and will caution all friends and family to avoid.
This experience felt arbitrary, stressful, and unnecessary. I would caution all homeowners to be very careful dealing with Progressive’s underwriting process.
This company is not customer oriented.
17-Year Customer Ignored – Progressive Defies Physics and Pays for Pre-Existing Damage
I have been a loyal Progressive customer for 17 years, but my recent claims experience has been a nightmare of incompetence. I was involved in a very minor, low-speed incident (1-2 mph) where I rolled forward in a right-turn lane and my right front bumper impacted the right rear corner of the truck in front of me.
Instead of investigating the facts, Progressive paid out $2,800 for a pre-existing dent on the far left side of the truck's bumper. Progressive’s adjusters inferred that I somehow turned my steering wheel to the left, causing my right headlight to strike the truck's left rear bumper. This defies basic physics. If I had steered left and impacted them at that angle, the kinetic energy would have pushed my vehicle into the left adjacent lane—which was actively occupied by other cars—and shoved the truck forward into oncoming traffic. None of that happened, and there were no secondary collisions. The damage to my vehicle is strictly limited to my right front passenger side, with absolutely no damage to the middle or left side of my front bumper at all.
The worst part is Progressive’s complete refusal to investigate or communicate. They determined liability and paid the claim without ever contacting me directly to discuss the incident. They never asked for my personal account of what happened, nor did they ask for a statement from my 10-year-old son who was in the car and witnessed the entire event. They relied entirely on a generic digital questionnaire and the other driver's word.
They took the "Right to Settle" easy way out because it was faster than doing their jobs. They ignored the physical evidence, failed to speak with their own policyholder or witnesses, and left me with a premium increase for damage I did not cause. They have officially lost a 17-year customer; I will be taking my business elsewhere as soon as my policy is up for renewal.
Would give negative stars if available
Would give negative stars if available. Switched auto policy to Farners Insurance and saved 50% with inproved coverage! They also had the nerve to charge me a $50 cancellation fee. This company spends hundreds of millions of dollars on silly advertisements. Save yourself time and lots of money and avoid this consumer sham group
Snowmobile insurance
Bought snowmobile insurance through progressive because the rate was more competitive then others. Has a accident worked with Dan Schultz and team out of Minnesota and he is by far the worst investigator, adjuster, and professional rep I’ve ever dealt with. Does not answer phone rarely returns calls. Being a new policy they assumed fraud. After many videos phone calls pictures they are still giving me the run around after approving my claim 3 separate times then placing payment on hold, this is now going on 2 weeks. I would not recommend progressive to any person I know or get the chance to talk to.
As positive of an experience as you can get
No problems with a claim (6 month old car totaled on ice). Highly recommend.
Progressive Auto Insurance
Progressive Auto Insurance : Bait-and-switch quotes, extra fees never initially mentioned, steadily gradually increasing premiums each month and sneaky extras that don't "add up". I got a half-priced rate elsewhere with same coverages, and got the hell out as fast as possible!

We recently had an accident that totaled our vehicle. Ashly in the claims department was very helpful and friendly throughout the claim, and patiently answered all our questions. We've always loved the price and customer service, but this was our first time filing an auto claim. Amazingly helpful, friendly and easy!
Horrendous
Horrendous. So had a claim process for a non-fault accident that not only did I cancel progressive insurance but MY ENTIRE Family cancelled their policies. I will NEVER be dealing with this company again.
You must be out of your mind to use this carrier.
Thieves!! Progressive insurance is pitiful!
Homeowners insurance increased 92% in one year. They claim it was due to post inspection increase in value. Their reported valuation was $900,000+. Appraisal district value is $425,000. Zillow Appraisal is $455,000. Previous year insured value was $619,000. No improvements, add-ons, or other changes were made! No claims have ever been filed with them! When asked to have a second, independent appraiser, appraisal conducted, they declined! So, in the end, my annual premium was going nearly DOUBLE in a single year!! Pathetic company to do business with!!

Customer Service bad;no insurance cards for plates;no refund for their failure and doesn't live up to their quotes
Terrible service
Terrible service! They skimped and tried to deny as much as possible on the claim after my wife hit a deer. The communication wasn’t great. They have no problem charging a lot for insurance but when it comes time
To file a claim they are deplorable.

Progressive Road Assistance is the worst. I waited nearly two hours for a tow truck. When I called the tow company directly, they told me it would be another hour before they responded.
I’ve had Progressive Insurance for 4 or 5 years maybe longer
I’ve had Progressive Insurance for two deer-related vehicle incidents within six months. Here’s my experience Received a small credit for medical tint ($20 on a $375 tint). I was told I could be reim-bursed if I provided a receipt with sufficient detail. I supplied the receipt, but it wasn’t detailed enough for them to reimburse. Fair value for the to-taled 2013 Chrysler 300, but the tint issue left me sceptical. Second accident (≈4.5 months later): Another deer strike on my 2013 Hyundai Equus. A very luxurious car. Fully loaded, I provided a detailed receipt for the medical tint again. I was paid less for the Hyundai Equus than for the Chrysler 300. The report showed only 1 of 4 comparison cars matched my model in a 275 mile radius, which made me feel the settlement wasn’t fair or adequate. The representative, Christian L., was professional and patient throughout the process. Inconsistent payouts for similar items (medical tint reim-bursement) and lack of clear, consistent policy details upfront. Receipt requirements for tint reimbursement were not initially clear, leading to dis-putes when a receipt didn’t meet internal detail standards. Limited or non-representative comparison data for the Hyundai Equus Ultimate, affecting perceived fairness of the settlement. Model availability constraints can impact replacement value or settlement adequacy, especially for less common models. Overall value delivered feels uncertain, prompting consideration of switching insurers. Progressive may provide professional customer service in some interactions, but my experience with claims related to deer damage and related accessories (like tinted windows), and the comparison of compensation between the 2013 Chrysler 300 being paid out higher then the 2013 Hyundai Equus left me feeling under-compensated and uncertain about fair market valuation. Given the payout disparities and model availability concerns, I’m planning to explore other insurance options in the near term.
