Pronto Long Eaton Car Garage – Extremely Disappointed
I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received from Pronto in Long Eaton following a non-fault accident that required a simple door repair on my brand-new vehicle (less than a month old). What should have been a straightforward insurance repair turned into an absolute nightmare.
To begin with, it took over two weeks just to repair a single door. When the car was finally returned, it was in worse condition than before the accident. The repaired door made a crunching noise when opening, which it never did even after the accident. That alone was bad enough, but it didn’t stop there.
The car came back with scratches and marks on areas that were never involved in the accident. There was primer overspray all over the interior, including the bonnet, because they clearly didn’t take the time or care to mask the vehicle properly during painting. This level of carelessness is completely unacceptable, especially on a nearly new vehicle.
Due to their poor workmanship, the car had to be sent back for a second repair. You’d expect better the second time around — but no. When they returned it again, the car had barely any electric charge left, even though they promised to recharge it. It came back with a low battery warning and a red triangle, leaving me stressed and scrambling to find a charger.
To top it off, communication throughout the whole process was virtually non-existent. No updates. No explanations. Just delays and poor-quality work.
Honestly, I don’t understand how insurers are still using this garage. It feels like they’re cutting corners to save money, and customers like me are the ones paying the price.
Would not recommend to anyone. If your insurer suggests Pronto, I highly advise requesting a different repairer.
As a result of an accident on December 2024 I was advised by my insurers to use Pronto Accident Repair Centre in Long Eaton to repair my vehicle. I was initially reticent to use them as they were not local, however it was a good move to use them. After the initial bit of getting insurers to agree to a repair and not write off etc a courtesy car was organised for me and it was delivered direct to my home first thing in the morning as promised and had sole use of the vehicle until mine was repaired. During the interim period I was kept informed of progress or not by Paige at pronto who was a real diamond and an asset to Pronto. with excellent customer focused skills, I developed a rapport and when there was no progress or delay in getting a part, I was told the truth and kept up to date at all times. As well as Paige the other person I had contact with was Scarlett who too had excellent customer service skills. I finally got my own vehicle back on Friday 24 January and was first delivery of the day to my home. The main reason for the 6 week timescale was that Christmas and New Year holidays happened. When delivered to me the vehicle had been through a thorough Quality Check and was delivered back to me well valeted. I can honestly say that I would have no hesitation in recommending Pronto at Long Eaton to anyone. Thank you for the excellent service I received.
I haven't taken my car for repair here yet, I became concerned after what appeared to be a total lack of communication between them and my insurer, phone calls to them are met with a message "You are number one in the queue" then mostly get hung up as it's not answered, only managed to get through twice in about 12 times, then when I tried to arrange the repair they told me they'd need the car about 10 days to replace the mirror and indicator parts of the wing mirror which is less than an hours work, more like 15 minutes, the mirror clips out and three screws allow changing the indicator, then they were supposed to call me back next day but took 3 days, on my last call the guy could hardly speak English, this is when I decided to come here and look at reviews as all these things made me suspect that this place was not very good, and boy am I glad I did, I've decided to do it myself, got parts sourced at £28, if this was done by my main dealer I could have taken it down and waited an hour and drove it home. Even body work and spraying have only take 2-3 days at other places.
I'll be calling my insurer to tell them to forget it, I'm doing it myself and I won't be using them again, probably go back to my previous insurers. a little more expensive but far better.
If I could have given less than one star I would have!
We have had the misfortune of having our car in the care of Pronto from July till today, due to our insurance company selecting them for our repairs. Throughout this prolonged period there has been terrible service with inaccurate/false information exchange, and management structure that seems incapable/uninterested in supporting their staff to provide an honest dialogue with customers. The car was finally collected today and it is filthy and not usable due to the key fob not locking. This was not an issue when we left it with them. Seriously avoid if you can would be my advice, as this has honestly been so stressful. We have raised a complaint with them, but have had no response at all and their manager was refusing any verbal dialogue to discuss when we requested this. Our insurance company have been informed and hopefully will use a more customer focused company moving forward.
A bunch of liars. Every time I was told my vehicle would be ready it wasn’t. Each time they had a different excuse for why it wasn’t quite finished, then when they finally told me it was ready I went to pick it up and they had painted the damaged door the wrong colour
The day my car was due to be picked up, I had to call Pronto as it was after midday and I had waited in all morning. First call ..... was told "the guy is just leaving and should be with me in about an hour". Two hours later, I called again, and was told "hes just leaving and will be with you in about an hour".
Three weeks later, my car hire people are told the repair has been done and we are just awaiting cleaning the car. ( enterprise called me to tell me ). Three days later Pronto call me to say the car was ready but just awaiting a clean... when asked what they had been doing, as the told enterprise Car hire the same 3 days ago. Just said oh we've been very busy.
Finally got back the car after several calls. Very poor fitting of the rear bumper and light fitting . Shut lines were out and the light cluster not flush to the body work. Awaiting a call back from Pronto to see what they are going to do.
UPDATE... well 7 weeks later, still awaiting a call from pronto. Spoken with the motor repair network who placed my car with Pronto, several times and they have asked the garage to contact me 3 times. Spoken to the insurance company and they have requested several times for the garage to contact me to sort out the bodged repair.
Now, also spoke with Motability and still awaiting an update... as of the 14 November 2023.
Well here we are in the new year 23 Jan 2024... Car STILL NOT SORTED.
One Star is way too much for Pronto.
Not sure what you have to do to get these people to get back to you to get a repair done. Ive been waiting since the beginning of May!! Pronto, do they know what that means? NO
Absolutely terrible!
i left my car to have minimal work done in 7/07/23. I was told it would take up to 3 weeks but no more.
Four weeks, many phone calls later with promises of it being completed soon and updates that never happen its still there! I had the audacity to complain politely today and had the phone put down on me.
I am being nagged by the Car Hire Company and completely disgusted with this Company.
Pronto they certainly arent!
Car failed MOT due to headlight not aligned correctly after bodywork.
Various items left unsecured.
Job spoilt by lack of quality control.
Also a small job took over 2 weeks.
A few hiccups along the way with time scale and update of work but all staff were polite and understanding .brilliant repair job well done
Continuation of previous review: having been told that they never touched my horn when repairing my vehicle, just had fone call from insurance company they’ve viewed pictures and found horn not been done even though it was part of repair 😂😂😂 told you so but wouldn’t believe me. If your insurance company tell you they gonna fix your car tell them you’ll take it somewhere else!!!
Not impressed. My car was stolen and then involved in a police chase. Car was recovered on Monday and taken to Cossall. Pronto were informed on Tuesday and asked to recover and assess. Friday, not recovered or assessed. Claim it is to do with paperwork, what paperwork? Don't answer the phones, obfuscation on a serious level. Look it up. We are a one car family, seriously out of pocked and inconvenienced.
Pronto was the preferred garage of my insurance company after a collision. The repair itself took 3 months just to book in and then a further 3 months to fix for a reasonably simple repair. Impossible to get in touch with the company for an update. The phone number constantly rings out. Every now and again there is an option to leave a message but these are never picked up and returned.
Posting as I am now attempting to sort for my family. Despite numerous communications by them with Long Eaton branch and insurers a family members car is still no nearer being returned. Both parties constantly changing their stories. Pronto care have had the car since 10th October 2022 and have said at various times awaiting parts, work started, awaiting paint work, will be completed by 23 Dec 2022. Still no sign of car being returned and Pronto Care not communicating openly, honestly and without chasing.
Everyone at Tesco I have spoken to in the claims department has agreed that the liability lies squarely with Tesco and Pronto. The only thing Tesco have been able to tell me is that an engineer has agreed that the damage was not caused by the accident on February 2nd.
In the week commencing October 3rd 2022 i have spoken to Tesco to express my frustration at the lack of a satisfactory resolution. I have been told by 2 members of the claims team that Tesco no longer use Pronto due to the amount of complaints. I think this speaks volumes.
On Monday 10th October I received a call from Becky at Pronto at roughly 2.55pm to say that my car was all ready and would be being delivered to my home on Tuesday 11th October. I was astonished at the audacity of the call knowing full well that the car was still at NK Motors in Chilwell. I informed Becky that her company was useless and unprofessional. She was dismissive of my complaints. She informed me that Pronto would take back the courtesy car. I said i'd neither sign any paperwork accepting my car back or hand over the courtesy car to which Becky informed me that she would call the police... I ended the call. At 4pm that day i drove to NK Motors to collect the keys to my car thus preventing Pronto access to my car. To my amazement i discovered a box on the back seat of my car with a replacement front grill and a Kia badge. To add to my shock i also discovered no work had actually been carried out on my car and the broken bumper and grill was in the same condition as when i handed it to them. I have these replacement parts in my utility room along with pictures to prove that no work has ever been carried out on my car. This proved again that Pronto are liars having lied countless times not only to me but Tesco and Kia throughout this sorry episode.
I employed an independent engineer who ascertained that the car didn't need a new engine. Pronto, having left the car parked (presumably under some trees which in turn has damaged paintwork to the roof) for nearly 10 weeks decided in their infinite wisdom to jump start the car which as a result damaged the ECU throwing up all sorts of fault codes. I hold Pronto fully responsible for this damage. I also hold Pronto fully responsible for the damage to the paint work due to the sap off the overhanging trees in their yard.
had Pronto just done their job properly none of this would have happened. Tesco and pronto are shocking to the core.
Pronto will probably reply to this with all kinds of cut and paste responses which, if you've read other reviews you will be familiar with.
Their courtesy car was eventually fetched from my house on Wednesday 26th of October by two rather sheepish looking men. I had earlier threatened to have the car scrapped, within 90 minutes the car was collected.
If you value your mental health, vehicle and wallet do not use this company or Tesco!
Excellent service and communications, Credit to Liam Josh and all the team that worked on restoring my Ford b max. Brilliant work and very fast living up to their name. PRONTO.! Added to this whoever cleaned the car inside and out needs recognition. Brilliant finish. The team are near to sainthood as I left a purse by accident in the car and in this day and age the contents were returned without theft. Outstanding reputation will use you again. Can't thank you enough for all your help.

Absolutely disgusted that the Nottingham centre has had my car for six months and still not repaired. They have left a disabled man without his vehicle and do not care. When we try and ring they are dismissive and continuously say they will ring back and never do, when this week I went to the workshop they have now said when they have taken the bumper off they did not realise there was more damage and they are now waiting for further parts, another six months I would think. I have had to renew my insurance and tax for a vehicle that I have not had for six months , the car now has no MOT either!! The car has not been ran and so the battery will also be damaged and probably need replacing their response - we will charge it for you!! Bad service from people that do not care and have no idea about customer service. I rely on my car to get about on a daily basis.
Top Quality repair to my T5 campervan. Did a fantastic job of the side of the van where I damaged the side of the van on a post. Very professional attitude and brilliant bodywork and paint job. Would definitely recommend and use again if required.

You do not have to take your vehicle to ‘Insurance Approved’ bodyshops period.
My advice, is don’t.
You would better off finding an independent, who does the job right the first time, that you don’t have to keep ringing them for an update.
Pronto need to change their name as they are anything but and do not be ‘Dazzled’ by their web site self plaudits, they mean nothing.
TBH it is embarrasing to read
Pronto are aware of the finer details behind the reason for this post but for me, I will never ever use insurance approved bodyshops again(I hope that I don’t have to)

** EDIT -** 13/07/2022
Car completed and received! Hurrah! Communication did improve as we neared completion. The job was also an excellent finish
I just wish over the period the communication had been better as it made the experience unnecessarily stressful and unpleasant.
My company car has been with Pronto Nottingham for nearly 9 weeks after an allocated repair via Davies Group insurance.
From the collection, on the 23rd of February to today 25th of April i have had zero updates apart from one text message 3 weeks after collection to say my car was with the "strip team, and updates will follow as the repair progresses."
Since then I have attempted a weekly call for an update. On the occasions I've been able to get through, I've been told they are unable to give an update due to an unprecedented workload, and on one occasion, when commenting on the length of time and lack of communication, heard the immortal words "it is was it is."
Out of desperation, today I've asked my insurers to step in to see if they are able to get me an update. They came back to me, and have been told that additional damage was found to the vehicle, parts have been ordered but they have no time frame on the parts.
It's only fair to say they have provided a courtesy car during this time and I've experienced very little hardship as I'm able to partially do my job.
However, I travel a lot for work, and had I known it would have taken this long I would have made prior arrangements.
It feels a little unfair to leave a review when the work hasn't yet been carried out, but to see another new review here with a longer waiting time is alarming.
I'll update when the work is carried out.
