An excellent company with great ethics. Great to find unusual varieties as plugs/plants and be able to buy small amounts. Plants were healthy and well watered. The packaging was plastic free, and I was able to use the straw on my strawberries - bonus!
Also excellent communication - Thanks for helping me out. Will look forward to placing a bigger order next
year.

I purchased a garden in a box (this comprised of 3 deliveries in Spring, Summer and Autumn - 60 plants in each for approx. £120, a mixture of beans approx. £6 plus some tomato plants around £10. Plus delivery - the total was £158.
The first delivery arrived mid May advertised beginning of April to end of May - this included items such as broad beans which were young plants - at this time it was too late for them to really do anything. Other plants were OK, the edible flowers have been good. I was pleased that the packaging contained no plastic. Tomatoes at this time (due summer were great).
The second box was due to arrive between Early June and Mid July. I chased it a week or so ago and was told that the Mid July was actually a typo, despite me basing purchases on this and I should expect them by the end of July. I then received a delivery of beans the very next day - very young plants - lets see how they will do. Beans are usually planted out at the end of May and I feel that it is now very late to expect a decent harvest from these plants.
After a couple more emails, the summer garden in a box was dispatched and arrived yesterday. It contained 25 plants as opposed to 60. Again, very young plants for the time of year including some runner beans, a squash, a pumpkin, a cucamelon, a tomato plant and a couple of peppers. I'm not exactly sure how they thought that this was acceptable.
I have since cancelled the order for the winter garden in a box and have received a refund as I don't feel confident in the plants arriving in time to grow.
Below is the email from the company in response to my complaint:
Hi Rachel,
Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your recent order. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and disappointment caused by the delivery of your garden in a box.
We understand your frustration with receiving only 25 plugs instead of the 60 that were promised, as well as the timing issue for planting. This is certainly not the experience we aim to provide, and we regret that we have not met your expectations.
We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and providing the screenshot and photograph for reference. This information is invaluable in helping us address the issue and prevent it from happening in the future.
Regarding your request for a refund on the third box, we will process this promptly. You can expect to see the refund reflected in your account within the next few business days. Additionally, we will ensure that no further plants are sent to you.
We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment this has caused. Your feedback is essential in helping us improve our service, and we hope you will consider giving us another chance in the future. If there is anything else I can do to rectify the situation or assist you further, please do not hesitate to let me know.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
Warm regards,
Ash & Team Propagation Place
The last sentence of this has really annoyed me - 'thanks for your understanding and patience' - I really don't feel like this company cares about its customers, understands when plants need to be in the ground or how to fulfil an order. And I do feel that the response has been written by chat gpt. I'm sorry this is so scathing but I spent a lot of money and have seen very little for it. Now it is too late to buy plugs in garden centres to make up for this. I really do like to support companies like this and it is a shame that it has gone this way.

Good quality plants
Love the whole ethos
A few replacements so not entirely as ordered but close; and we can't control nature to guarantee outcomes so happy with the closeness of the match:-)

Plants arrived without notice but we were at home so not a huge problem but we could have been a bit more prepared had we known. Plants were healthy and strong looking and we planted them the following day. As this was only a week or so ago, it’s still early days but all are looking good so far.

We ordered a Hooligan Squash as it was the only place we could find one, we had not used them before, but will definitely continue to use them in the future. The plant arrived well wrapped and protected and healthy and we were very impressed. Thank you for taking so much care.

Plants arrived well packed, and in very good condition. They are growing happily on my allotment now!

I would have loved to score them higher, as they are well meaning and a charity that does good work, but the level of service is just too poor. 'Summer' orders were delivered in mid-July, six weeks after the start of summer, and the plants were tiny. I am not expecting to be able to get much if any harvest from them. The tomatoes I grew myself from seed were 4 foot high and covered in green tomatoes by the time the Propagation Place tomatoes arrived, 10cm tall.
Meanwhile, the physical shop at the farm was selling all the same plants I ordered, weeks earlier and for much cheaper prices.
Unfortunately, the prices at Propagation Place are much higher than just going to a garden centre, and the service level unacceptably poor. Hoping they get their act together in future years as I really would like to keep supporting them.

This is the second year that I have got my vegetable plugs from propagation place. As last year all of the plants were in very good condition and have transferred to the allotment well. My only reservation is that I would like to have received them in early June rather then early July.

Really great quality plants. Very well packaged meant they arrived in fantastic condition with very good instructions for preparing to plant them.

Brilliant company, good ethos, my plants arrived very well packaged and very strong, ready to plant. I wish they would have a tracker for delivery, so I would have had time to prep the ground before the plants arrived, however I would wholeheartedly recommend them and I will order again.

Helpful staff, well packed plants, recyclable packaging and filler too. Strong healthy plants. Plants not dried out. Appreciated the fact that they were hardened off before delivery.

Still waiting for my order (placed 9th June). While I appreciate it's a tough growing year for everyone, communication is very poor. No reply to email, phone kept ringing out. All I want is a rough idea when my order will arrive, so I can prepare the ground.
I hope my order does actually arrive!
Based on this experience, I would definitely not use this again.

Very strong plants, carefully packed and individually labeled, I am impressed and will order from propagation place again

I use PP twice a year for spring and summer products for two reasons. Firstly their product and service is very good and secondly the charitable work they do is very commendable .
The latest summer collection I received was first class and made better by the fact that they held dispatching the order to fit around my holidays.
The products are now planted and flourishing despite the British weather !

Great quality plants, well packed in compostable packaging. Very pleased.

Really late arrival. Inconvenient and hard to arrange to collect. Very expensive for what you get . Quite young plants also .

Plants were healthy and delivered in sustainable packaging and all took really well. Thank you

I always find Propagation Place to be great. They deliver the plants as ordered, safely packed in plastic free packaging (card, straw), and neatly labelled. This time I ordered pumpkin, squash, tomato, celeriac and Florence fennel. The fennel didn't look terribly happy after their travels (during a mini heatwave) but perked up on planting. Everything else looked lush even on delivery.

Absolutely brilliant, couldn't ask for more. Plants were delivered healthy and in great condition. I will be back next year for sure
