Awful dinosaur-age interview style, passive aggressive panel
Post interview update:
Worst interview experience in decades. It felt like a practical joke setup - botched TV prank.
The youngest interviewer was in their mid 60s.
The rigid dinosaur-age interview techniques were barked at me, in an "arbeit kamp" style set of rules.
Out of the panel of 4 interviewers, one was the PB moderator, one was a manager in the team I applied for. The remaining two were old age pensioners, long ago retired... Very grumpy and sarcastic.
Their main focus was to show me how little knowledge I had about the current technical legislation.
During the VC interview, they kept looking down to take notes so only the top of their heads were visible on screen.
Whenever they asked me to talk about something more constructive or creative, they promptly interrupted me, to say I am about to exceed my 60 seconds allowance.
Nothing inspirational.
Just a truly off-putting, awful, medieval experience.
Original post: Clunky, slow and counterintuitive, true to public sector form.
The site registration goes to invasive lengths, asking the candidate to answer private questions such as: their mother's maiden name, their passport number, how much "baggage" the candidate has (kids, ex spouses, pets, liabilities, dependents) and even to declare their sexual orientation (straight, oblique, sideways etc).
However, small overlook for a recruitment site: a CV cannot be uploaded and isn't required.
