Golwg Y Môr.

Had a lovely week here .The cottage was clean and fully equipped and the granddaughter loved the hot tub. .Plenty of clean towels ,hot water and very spacious. There is parking for two cars so we were able to walk into Saundersfoot ,please note it is a bit of a steep climb back to the house for those with mobility issues .

What a disappointment

What a disappointment. What is advertised as a luxury home, was a tired, broken property. The owner and I am sure Puffin Cottage Holdiays knew that all of the blinds that provide security whilst staying in this home, were not working. The problem was not rectified, nobody turned up to fix them. Everyone could see you at all times of day. I had two children with me and we could not watch TV as the sun/glare came through all day and of course at night, everyone can see you sitting there and pretty much watch everything you are doing on your holiday. On top of that, lights don't work, shower setting on boiling hot only, not enough cutlery, damaged kitchen.....the list goes on, DO NOT waste your money here as you literally will not see a cent of it back if you complain (£200 was refunded when the stay cost £1700!!!)! Save your self the heartache and find somewhere else that can offer a service of what you’d expect from a “luxury “property.

Hello, thanks for your review. We are sorry to hear that you did not fully enjoy your stay. I can see that there was an issue with the blinds during your stay which was rectified and you stayed at the property for the remainder of your week. At the end of your stay you requested a full refund from the owner, which we were unable to offer as you had stayed at the property for the full week you had booked it for. I can see you were refunded £200 by the owner of the apartment due to the issue with the blinds.

Stayed once again at The Hygge

Stayed once again at The Hygge. Fantastic return. Have already booked again on return, but with a different property. Puffin are easy to deal with, but also if there was an issue, are easy to find

Adequate, but not as good as promotional pictures suggest

Had a weeks holiday at 6 Merlins Gardens in Tenby in very late summer. Booked via the agency Puffin Holidays, which was an easy process. Promotional pictures of the property looked good, very modern and comfortable. There was a You Tube video on the website, with a walk through tour, stating the property was newly refurbished in June 23 and that the garden would be landscaped. Unfortunately, the reality was not quite like the hype. The living room had indeed had new furniture, which you would expect of a new agency purchase within the last 12 months, plus new mirrored fitted wardrobes in the main bedroom, but that’s where the ‘refurbishment’ ended. Other than that, the property was quite tired and tatty round the edges. The double bed was hard, the single bed made such a noise when you moved, like an old dormitory bed. There was mould in and around the shower. No grab rail in the bath area to help you in or out. Water everywhere as the shower screen was inadequate. There’s no modesty blind either. There are properties immediately above and behind. The next door neighbours raised garden looks right into the bathroom, when the window’s open. Surely a blind should be on that window? In the dark, with the lights on, everyone can see everything you’re doing. There’s a hole in the ceiling where an extractor fan used to be. The property is overlooked from the back and front. There are roller blinds only. Therefore unless you want to sit with the blinds down, people do have a tendency to look in the living room as they walk past. You have to pull the blind down for privacy in both bedrooms. There are a lot of guest comments in the book saying the property was spotless. Either they’ve got quite low standards or mine are too high. We had crumbs on the kitchen floor upon arrival. The kitchen cupboards were dirty inside with food debris. General dirt in door frames, windows outside were filthy, as was the property at the back. Sat on the bedroom floor to dry my hair I could see someone’s contact lens lying dried up, in the carpet next to the skirting board. My husband vacuumed all the carpet edges before we left, he said they were filthy. One of the bedroom wall sockets is very loose & needs attention. The outside space was not very inviting. It felt quite claustrophobic out there. It never got the sun whilst we were there, which could have been the time of year. You’re left sitting, looking up at a filthy property, it’s literally black. The promised landscaped top garden hasn’t been touched and it’s just an overgrown weed bed. We were welcomed with a £1 packet of Welsh cakes and half a pint of milk upon our arrival. There were also four toilet rolls, kitchen roll, hand soap, a small amount of washing up liquid, J cloth, pan scrubber and a T towel. The oven was dirty inside and the top of the toaster a bit uninviting, as it was rusty. Quite a few of the double glazed windows were blown. There’s no outdoor dust bin. In the kitchen there is a double bin. One for rubbish and one for recycling. After your stay you’re asked to put both bags under the garden bench outside. There is no facility for poo bags for your dog (s). You’re asked to put these in public bins in and around Tenby town. The parking is in an allocated bay, there is a bit of an uphill trek with suitcases and bags etc. Not suitable for anyone with a walking impairment, as the property is up an incline. This may be difficult for winter holidays when it will become slippery with frost or ice. That’s all the negatives. The good points are the sofas were large and comfortable. The TV was good. There’s Freeview channels tuned in. If you want to watch Netflix you’ll have to log into your own account. The kitchen table is large. The lamps are nice at night. They don’t skimp on the heating, you can turn it on when you want. It’s large and spacious for 2 people or the 4 it can take. There’s only a 10 minute walk to Tenby town centre. We paid £740 for our week in September. If we wanted to book again for 2025 the corresponding week currently stands at £881 or £1542 for the week after that (presumably inflated for the Iron man race they have every year) followed by £1197. For that reason we won’t be returning, it’s not worth those prices (to us anyway) under any circumstances. Only if you want to be right in Tenby for every day of your holiday would I recommend this property. Other than that, there’s better value for money accommodation out there, for sure.

Poor Property, great customer service

We had several issues with the property we stayed in, from it being dirty to blocked toilet etc. however the customer service from Puffin was second to none. They gave us a partial refund and temporarily took the property off their books. Cant say fairer than that

Wonderful week in Tenby

Had a week in Tenby in mid July. I've taken a while to get round to review, but the experience was great, so still feel it is worthwhile sharing.

Firstly, I was made aware of all the summertime road restrictions, where to park and how to access the property well in advance of our stay, meaning I could plan ahead, and be comfortable with the security (and price) of my car parking fir the week.

All details for the properly and local area were available on entry.

The property was something else, very modern yet coastal, stunning views, I think we all agreed on which seat in the house had the optimum view / feel.

We booked direct through puffin cottages rather than through a main site which saved a fortune being the first week of the summer holidays, and although I was nervous booking away from a site I usually use, I have nothing but nice things to say about the experience, including update emails telling me that there were local events going on in the week of my stay, with links on how to find out more.

Windermere house is a wonderful property, the kitchen was amazing, the first floor sitting area had the best views (as mentioned), the living arrangements gave more than the space and separation a big family holiday needed.

Would definitely recommend, and will definitely be using again in the years ahead!!

Would definitely recommend Puffin Cottage Holidays

Very easy to book with and were very quick to reply to any questions. Stayed at Sunningdale (sleeps 8 and dog friendly). A wonderful welcome pack was supplied. There was so much provided for the grandkids so that they were not bored when we came away from the close-by beach. We only had one problem where my daughter and granddaughter got stuck in the bedroom when their door jammed. A quick phone call and someone came out and sorted it immediately. Would definitely recommend the company the staff are so friendly and helpful.

DISGUSTING property stank of mould so badly I almost vomited

I am absolutely disgusted that this property is even available as a holiday let! It is a health hazard. It smelt so strongly of mould and mildew as soon as we opened the door my kids had to wait outside. There is a clear issue within the property. I was told it was because it had been raining the last few days! The side gate was broken and propped up with a piece of wood with a crate in front of it to prevent use and there was a dirty door mat strewn in the corner of the ‘outdoor seating area’ the stuff in the kitchen all smelt really bad and we left deciding we couldn’t spend anytime there let alone the week we had booked! I was disgusted to be told that this is what a budget property with puffin is and that it is their most popular budget let! They were not terribly helpful, offering alternative accommodation in a different town and without parking. Turned the first day of our holiday into a nightmare would AVOID at all costs! No accountability and renting out disgusting properties which are not fit!

Great experience

I had been meaning to book through these guys for a while, they have some really nice properties. We love West Wales and there were a couple of properties we wanted to check out.
We just returned from Freshwater East and our stay was perfect! The communication with Puffin was excellent and the apartment was lovely. I must commend Puffin on their in-apartment familiarisation folder, I think it was the best I've ever seen, with instructions for all the appliances. We had no reason to contact them during our stay, but we felt confident we could if needed, they are very helpful with all communication. A great experience, will book again!

Service Excellence

I have just returned from Saundersfoot South Wales from a lovely recouperation holiday with my elderly parents whom I wanted to give a much need tonic to.
My visiting the website right through to customer care during our stay our experience with Puffin Cottage Holidays has been excellent.
1) When we arrived at the property it was exactly as the website presented it. That's refreshing!
2) the booking was simple and straight forward. When I forgot to settle the balance on the requested date I wasn't harassed or treated like some sort of criminal. I was given a very friendly reminder (twice) because I'm getting old and have the propensity to get distracted :-) When I spoke to the office they were lovely and understanding and we got through it. Again refreshing!
3) My father is recovering from a serious illness and the long journey was a bit too much I think so when we arrived in Saundersfoot we were 4 hours early for the published check-in. When I phoned the office and explained the situation without any mention of 'rules and procedures blah, blah' or seeking of permission they just quickly checked it had been serviced and allowed us to go in early. I cant tell you what a difference that made to us on that day. Priceless!

The team here are great and you really do get a warm family feeling about their approach.
I want to thank the team and Puffin Cottage Holidays for having a culture that recognises and accommodates real life human infallibilities and challenges with a smile and a friendly approaches to overcoming them.
World, take note, this is how you do 'Good Service'
Well done guys!

Had a fantastic experience using Vicki…

Had a fantastic experience using Vicki at Puffin, the check in was easy, simple and smooth which is just what you want when travelling 2 hours. They left a basic welcome back and the apartment was lovely. We have used other rental companies in Tenby before and Puffin are far better.

The Hawthorns, Saundersfoot ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We stayed at the stunning Hawthorns in Saundersfoot. A beautiful 5 bedroom home with the most gorgeous master suite and views to die for from the hot tub. Perfect for my 50th birthday celebrations. Vicki’s communication was extremely prompt and even allowed us a late checkout. Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Small, clean and comfortable

Our apartment at Beach Court was small but perfectly formed. Bed amazingly comfortable- lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves - so close to amenities - and the beach - instructions for taking the dog on the beach very confusing - even the residents agree and most seem to ignore them! Booked a return visit next year.

Easy booking and good communication

Booking is easy and the communication with the company if needed is very good ie they answer their emails. We've been to the same cottage two years on the trot and we've booked it for next year.
The only reason I gave 4 stars is that the cleaning this year was not what we would have expected for such an expensive property.
Hasn't stopped us booking though! The size and position is perfect for us
