ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE

Punkt’s customer service is beyond bad. Simply does not exist. They have a very convoluted system on their website that takes about 15 minutes to fill out. You send a message and then … nothing.

Days and weeks pass and despite chasing up continually … still no replies.

Not even sure if they are still in business … except they are still selling products on their website.

Bizarre behaviour.

I like the concept behind their products and on the surface they seem quite well built. But they are incredibly buggy and customers are treated with utter contempt and ignored.

It’s sad as there should be high quality alternatives to iPhones, Samsung etc. but Punkt are incapable of crossing the first hurdle with their shockingly bad customer service and extremely buggy products.

I tried the Punkt mc02 and…

I tried the Punkt mc02 and unfortunately I can't say much positive about it. The software is very poorly developed and contains many bugs. The battery life is remarkably poor. In my opinion, the high price for this device cannot be explained.

Very disappointing

Very disappointing. These are the first words that come to mind when thinking about my experiences with punkt.

This company profiles itself through slick videos and texts as a company that has something to offer in the field of (social) awareness, real attention, an eye for detail and high quality. Unfortunately, these promises turned out to be very disappointing in reality. My purchase, an MP02 telephone, has a design that is reminiscent of the style of Dieter Rams and appeals to the imagination. In my opinion, this is also the biggest advantage of this phone.

The device felt very lightweight. This is of course not a problem in itself, but it does give food for thought about the quality of the battery. It didn't take long to figure out the quality of the battery. As soon as the alarm went off on this phone for the first time in the morning, I disconnected the device from the charger at 100% battery level and then snoozed three times. After this, the battery percentage had already dropped to 92%! With 4G, WiFi and Bluetooth enabled, the battery drained from 100% to about 50% in 12 hours without using the device! As soon as I used the device even briefly a few times in a day, the battery quickly plummeted towards 20%.

I can be brief about the pigeon messaging application. This does not work and cannot be made to work. All procedures, updates and tips and tricks were performed repeatedly, as well as several full resets in attempts to get this working. Totally disastrous software...

This immediately brings me to the next topic, the software. This is full of bugs. I am not talking about the fact that this device has very few options, no, that is precisely the intention with this device. I'm talking about the options on it that aren't implemented properly. This is not a matter of taste or preference that disappoints me personally, no, these are real software bugs! A simple example: Setting the ringtone volume works fine for messages, you hear the set volume and confirm it and you're done. If you follow the same steps regarding call volume, after you finish setting the volume, the phone will play the ringtone continuously without ever ending. In the meantime, you can do all kinds of other things on this phone while the ringtone continues to rattle... You can work around this bug by going back to the message volume setting and going through and finishing it. This resets this bug. An update to the latest version made no difference. The software is loaded from front to back with these kinds of sloppy bugs. It took me 30 minutes to find 5! No more time spent looking for more...

And now begins, in my opinion, the worst chapter of this review. The way the return and refund was handled... It took a very long time for customer service to respond to my return request. Only after several attempts did I get an answer, an indifferent one, but at least it could be returned. After it was delivered to the return address it remained silent for weeks. Weeks in which I assumed in good faith that the refund would follow shortly. Unfortunately, this turned out not to be the case and again I had to make several attempts to get them to take action. When I finally got an answer, the completely indifferent employee wrote that from this moment on a 30 day waiting period for a refund started! This made my jaw drop. Due to their negligence, I waited almost a month, and then they showed up with this! For a moment I hoped that these 30 days were just a formality and that the practice would turn out to be a lot more friendly. No, they actually made me wait until the end of these 30 days for my money (minus shipping fee)! I spoke to them and told them that I was not at all satisfied with this state of affairs, but you guessed it: once again there was indifference. All in all, months have been wasted to arrange something that is normally basic and simple.

When I think back to Punkt's beautifully slick campaign, I do not recognize the values presented in reality. And most importantly, they have not shown that they are people who value human connection, on the contrary.

It is advisable to stay far, far away from this company.

Early adopters, be aware.

I ordered punkt's MP02 phone in 2019 when it was first announced. I liked the design, the promise of security and the freedom of having a dumb-phone. The price was high for a dumb-phone but I bit the bullet just for the aesthetics. I thought, how can you screw a dumb-phone! I was wrong. The phone was buggy and had a lot of issues. As an early adopter I didn't give up on Punkt and thought that through updates the phone will become usable. They did release few updates, which fixed problems here and there, until the updates stopped. I would receive an email about an update but the device refuses to update claiming that there is no updates available. I got tired of it and let it sit aside and forgot about it. As time goes by, I happen to scroll the Punkt website and read the FAQ; that's when I found out that my phone was labeled first generation and a new generation, made after a certain date in 2021 was released. The new generation gets regular updates; the first generation gets bupkis. I contacted Punkt complaining about my 329 euros paper weight that are buggy and unsecure due to the lack of updates, and their response was 'sorry' and they mentioned a trade-in program. I was excited and showed my interest, that's when they sent me the details of the so-called trade-in program. It was a lengthy process but in summary they want me to send them the old phone in its original box. Then after they receive the phone and check it over they will send me a ...... get ready for it... 20% discount voucher on the second generation PM02! This is ridiculous. They messed up the first one and now I'm paying the price. Because if I did accept their offer I will end up with a dump phone that costs 592 Euros (The original price plus an additional 80%) for no fault of mine.
The reason why I write this is; they come up now with a smartphone that they start marketing. Do not make my mistake and be an early adopter. Wait and let some idiot be a beta tester, and buy after they resolve the major issue that will no doubt come up with this device. Because when something major happen and they change the hardware you will be left with an unusable device.

Joke company

Joke company. I requested a refund on 26th November for a pre-order and 6 days later I still have not received it. Their customer service are liars as well claiming that I only asked for it on 29th November despite having email proof of when I requested the refund and cancellation.

DO NOT BUY THE PUNKT. MP02 PHONE!!!! ZERO STARS!!!!

What an awful experience?!
From their online ordering system, to tracking the delivery, to trying to get the phone to work...
Simply, Awfull!!

Punkt.ch's online ordering system crashed 9 times when I was trying to place an order for their MP02 "dump-phone"...
On the 10th time, and 3rd day, they finally accepted my order...
Then, nothing!! No communication!! And their online Order Status, for days, stated "Processing"...
Then, out of blue, my device arrived.
And this is where it all goes down hill...

I have been trying to contact Punkt., every day, for the past 12 consecutive days, because their device doesn't work!!
Not only doesn't it work, but it's also a piece of cheap rubbish!!
Nokia offer exactly the same type of device for less than a 10th of the cost of this Punkt.
(And Nokias work - as they have proved over the past 40 years!!)

I am so disappointed with the product, but I'm even more disappointed, and frustrated, by their customer service - or lack there of it!!!!
The Swiss pride themselves on Honor and Service - well this Swiss outfit are an embarrassment to their country!!!!
DO NOT BUY THE PUNKT. MP02 PHONE!!!!
ZERO STARS!!!!
