It was an absolute joy working with Pygott & Crone

It was an absolute joy working with the Pygott & Crone Estate Agents.

The staff I worked with are extremely polite , everybody was really professional & they were always happy to help me with any questions I had when it came to getting my 1st property.

I recommend anybody who is buying a home etc to work with this firm because they are really good.

This isn't my last time working with them here , I will be back for more in the future.

Thank you for everything much appreciated

Best Regards

- Mr M. Linton

AVOID !!IF YOU WANT TO SELL YOUR HOME !

If you want your house sold, receive regular updates, receive key facts from the outset, have an agent that promotes your home by attending views, then DO NOT USE THESE ESTSTE AGENTS.
1. Promised regular updates however, we only received updates when we chased them.
2. Key facts not given at outset i,e you pay for photos but only in the small print do you find out you cannot use the photos if you change agents.
3. apparently we have nearly 60 potential buyers matched We had 3 views, so what happened to the rest? ratio shows lack of promotion or is this figure pure speculation?
4. On the market since November 24 not guidance on how to improve chances of sale etc .
5 total lack of confidence in them

I will be taking this matter further but AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE !

Professional, quick, friendly above 5*

If we could give more than 5* we would! Fabulous service, especially from Jonathan who went above and beyond to enable our sale to go through as smoothly as possible. We had one or two hiccups with our buyers, however Jonathan kept us updated constantly and everything progressed quickly and professionally. Fiona and Lauren were incredible too and always onhand with any queries. We would 100% recommend Pygott and Crone to any of our family and friends looking at selling their property.

Very unhelpful

Buying a house is a stressful experience, and Pygott Crone Grimsby added to the stress.

On the day of the move, having driven for 4hrs, I asked if a staff member could meet me at the property with the key. They had no one available. So I drove to Grimsby (a town I had never visited before) and eventually found their office where all members of staff were at their desks. They were very unhelpful and not at all welcoming. Once at the house I was unable to get the gas to work. I called the office and left messages and no one ever called back.

Worse house selling company ever

Worse house selling company ever. Had mothers property for sale with them over 5 months now and not ONE single viewing. Quite clearly absolutely no marketing of this property. Just stuck on internet doing zero. Definitely use someone else but these frauds.

A letter sent to Pyott & Crone Boston

A letter sent to P & C Boston last year.
The response an "honest mistake"
Plus they wanted the £300 fee for ads paid, threatening to take us to court if not paid.
This company should not be trusted with the sale of your property, there are conflicts of interest, as they mainly sell to HMO's whoare their business partners hence a lot of repeat business for them.
See below the details:

"Dear Mr Brooks,

We are making a formal complaint to you as we believe that Pygott & Crone are in breach of our contract.

From Feb to end of April 2024 Davis has acknowledged that

a. An erroneous SOLD sign was in place outside of our property. Which mislead local potential buyers in to believing a sale was completed.

b. A FOR SALE sign was not erected outside of our property during this period, in breach of point 3 of our signed contract. Once again passing potential buyers were not made aware of our property's availability for sale. Indeed neighbours in Tower Road believed that it had been sold.

C. In breach of point 6 of our contract ,we were not informed by you, either via email, letter or verbally that a potential buyer (an HMO) had shown interest and made an offer. We were informed verbally by Davis Gurton and in your presence when we visited your offices on 11 April to terminate our agreement .

d. Your agents Holly and Joe conducted viewings at the property during this period but failed to notify and rectify the presence of an erroneous SOLD sign and the absence of a FOR SALE sign. This is negligence.

It is our reasonable opinion that your marketing and sales service only benefited the potential HMO buyer by restricting any potential other buyers and working to achieve the lower price desired by that HMO buyer.

We entered into a contract with Pygott & Crone for you to fully market the property and work in our interest as the seller. This contract has not been honoured.

On the 11th April 2024, when we both came to speak with Mr Gurton at your Boston office he admitted that an interested party ,an HMO buyer , had said the "figures did not stack up" for him at the price as advertised.

Perhaps your £300 bill for professional services should go to this person, as in our reasonable opinion you were working more in his interest, by erroneously mis sign boarding and misleading other possible buyers and consistently attempting to drive the price down."

Yours sincerely
Matt

Come on guys , get your basic tenancy act together

It’s with great distress I write this review 3 members of my family rent a house at a cost of £1,250.00 per month , plus bills.
They have lived there 1 year. They pay the most rent in the street even though all the house are pretty much a mirror image.

It’s in Rainworth

Okay so that’s not worth 1 star.

What is worth a one star is the fact that my family were sleeping in a brand new build , never lived in until (until 1 year ago) and over the weekend the boiler was de-commissioned by British Gas as a danger to life. They were minutes away from either being gassed or blown up.

Ironically the house had an annual inspection a few days before and it was deemed as ok.

British Gas tell a whole different story.

Weekend’s Friday Pm to Monday AM

Nobody at the agency was available after hours.
No emergency number was provided by them

Closed over the weekend means just that

That’s no hot water.
No heating
No cooking

Plus THEY have to pay the bill as they were desperate to get the gas back on and called an emergency plumber. The call out alone was £400.00.

To them it was worth it. They all have full time Customers Service Jobs. Which requires a shower minimum. !

If 3 young Adults in your family were living in a brand new build house with a faulty gas boiler that was marked as safe and you lost them due to this companies negligence, I wonder where they’d be and if they’d even have a consciousness !

I won’t recommend them to anyone ever and I definitely will try and move my family because who knows what the rest of the houses , built the same in the street are like.

An apology to the 3 Tenants in the Property could just be a way of gaining some redemption.

The main Gentleman dedicated to this type of issue at the Company hasn’t even called them yet of course we can’t mention his name because as we know you can remove negative reviews regardless of there being any truth

Appalling

Disgusting and incompetent behaviour

If I could have put no stars or minus I would. I offered on a property full asking price but the agent wanted it Subject to viewing. Sent my aip across holly in boston confirmed vendor happy with the offer just need to view on return from holiday today at 4.30. Gets a call and email from a joe saying vendor accepted offer over weekend and therefore viewing cancelled. Also tries to tell me cant offer without viewing which being a senior conveyancer for 27 years i know is totally wrong. Many people offer not viewing and I had seen it outside offered straight away just unfortunate that flew out. Have email stating offer accepted by vendor to come back to this just an absolute joke. Funny tho as was messed about on a bungalow in quadring years ago tenanted but we were not advised also subsidence it was a joke and the vendors Conveyancers couldn't deal with the issues again misrepresented. This will certainly be taken further. Absolutely rubbish service and to not even know what another advisor in office had done is just totally and utterly incompetent . Trying to make out it's my fault for going on holiday but I would have given full asking price without the viewing, obviously not even advised to the vendor. Emails from Holly very clear as are Joe's so let's see the poop hit the fan now!!

ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!

ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!

We was due to view a property on Friday 05/07/2024 and this was confirmed via email on 29 July 2024. the property (land) was due to go to auction in 2 weeks. With viewing ready for Friday we have been emailed today saying that the property has been sold. The worst thing about this is that the person who is selling the land isn't aware that we was viewing on Friday therefore has accepted an offer, my questions to Pygott and Crone how has this fallen through your system? you have undervalued the land as we would of offered more than what you have sold it for! Its amazing also how the secure deposit has been paid same day! I await your phone call from the director!

Outstanding Estate Agents

We bought a property through Pygott & Crone Holbeach. As purchasers, we had an outstanding experience. We collaborated with Jade through viewing and offer stages and Tracy took us through the purchase process to completion. Their levels of customer service and care were outstanding, checking in with us regularly and following up with others, gently pushing things forward to ensure a smooth and speedy process through to completion. We have experienced many estate agents over the years and Pygott & Crone stood out in front of all the others for their professional, proactive and personal approach.

Pygott Crone in Boston charge £250+ vat as a withdrawal fee. This is without an end date, even though after 9 months they have not sent an offer our way. We had been guided by their sales chap in regard to the price, reduced twice and told they can “guarantee” they will sell at the new lower price (still no offer). All other agents I’ve contacted either have no fee to withdraw, or 12 to 16 week. We signed the contract and failed to check their withdrawal period, not expecting it to have a no end date.
Just wanted to put this out there as it’s a bit “cowboy” ish compared to other estate agents.

Excellent service throughout

Excellent service throughout. We have found Pygott and Crone extremely good at marketing, advertising and communicating with ourselves. Pre sale all the way through to completion has been seemless. Particular thanks go to Fiona Hodgkiss for her expediency, clarity adn friendliness throguhout and Aiden Turner for his advice and photo skills whilst putting the brochure together.

Poor Customer Service

Too many issues to list all of them, however, key ones includes:
Never answering the phone despite calling on different days and at different times.
Response to emails were typically longer than 24 hrs and in most cases 48 hrs.
Lack of understanding of offer details I made by the Branch Manager!
Incoherent final email from the Branch Manager to inform me another offer had been made that was accepted. This was not an auction property, I would have thought the agency would have given me the opportunity to increase my offer, no such luck.
Will avoid contact in the future.

Disappointed and poor service

Disappointed and poor service. Property wasn’t pushed, no feedback given from viewings, sometimes weren’t even informed or viewings. When I collected the keys to go with a new agent they gave me the wrong keys!
