This is an amazing website to use for creating QR Codes - very user friendly with great options to choose from.

I signed up for the 14-day free trial of qr-code.io and only used the service during my first billing cycle with the 14 HKD charge. After that, I never logged into my account or created any QR codes for all subsequent months, yet the platform kept automatically deducting 395 HKD from my Mastercard every month without any advance warning.
Per official Mastercard global rules for recurring subscription billing, merchants are required to send clear renewal reminder emails to users at least 7 days before each automatic charge. I fully checked my inbox, spam and junk folders repeatedly, and I never received any pre-renewal notification from qr-code.io at all — I only got payment receipts after the money was already taken from my card. These unexpected monthly fees created heavy unexpected financial pressure for me.
I contacted their support team to request a partial refund for all unused recurring charges, stating I would permanently delete my account once the refund was completed. The agent Allen only offered a lifetime free plan as compensation and completely ignored my refund request. After I sent a follow-up email to negotiate a reasonable partial refund, their support stopped replying to my messages entirely.
Major improvements this platform needs to make:
Strictly follow Mastercard compliance rules and send mandatory pre-renewal reminder emails to every user before each auto-renew charge.
Provide fair refund solutions for users who receive unnotified automatic deductions and do not use the service in later billing cycles, instead of only offering free account upgrades to avoid refunds.
Maintain timely and consistent email communication with customers who submit valid refund disputes, rather than ignoring customer messages to avoid resolving payment issues.
