Day light robbery....steer clear of this cowboy

Quickfix Locks Walton on Thames.
Locked out of upvc front door. Quoted £45.00 call out and cost of lock...so far so good. Was guessing £100 maybe.....
Said he’d be 20 minutes as was close to our address. Turned up 60 minutes later. Drilled out lock and with a new barrel, was all of a sudden going to be £414.00! When I question the price of the barrel, he said £65.00 (£11.40 at Lock Station, Versa barrel). Since Screwfix was closed, I was stuck with either a drilled lock and no barrel or being fleeced, he told me £360 was the lowest he could go. Complete rip off. Steer clear of this cowboy. If I could give no stars I would.

Bad Sale practice & Service

On arrival I was told after a 2 minute inspection that the most expensive lock (£466) was my only option UNTIL I said to the gentleman that I'd get a second quote then was shown a semi less expensive lock (£370) as an option. When I said to the gentleman i'd leave it & shop around he then remembered a lock for £180.
Very bad sales practice & even commented on the cost of the cars in the driveway I shouldn't be worrying about cost????
One good thing he wore a mask (not such if that was for Covid or for the doorway robbery)

Buyer beware

Buyer beware. This company should be closed down. I was locked out in the cold and they came very late. They removed a simple lock on the garden door (not the british standard lock on the front door, the cheaper easier lock on the bifold) and I was asked to pay £540!! Stay clear of them. Any local locksmith no matter how overpriced is better than them. This company should be closed down. Unscrupulous practises. Buyer beware.

I am shocked at the service received…

I am shocked at the service received today. The person arrived more than an hour later (having said 30 mins). He offered a price of £59 and was told to go ahead. After drilling, he then said that if we needed a lock replaced it would cost an extra amount. Who keeps a spare lock lying around? The total cost was £436.80 with vat. A shocking and truly disappointed experience with this company; terrible service. Will be sure to get this message out to any other poor client who gets done over like this.Lock is not even put in neatly - not flush with the door. Very poor workmanshp This company should be closed down IMMEDIATELY! They prey on our vulnerability and powerlessness.

Avoid this company at all costs

Avoid this company at all costs! The whole setup is a scam.

I was away from my flat and was informed by neighbours that the smoke alarm was going off. QuickFixLocksmiths seemed legitimate on the phone. They quoted me £45 call out, from £55 to get past the lock. If a new lock is required then they start from £25 (excl VAT). They arrived and said it’s not £55 to get in it’s £120 and £50 for the top lock, then once they had got in by destroying both locks with a drill (saying they couldn’t be picked but never tried at all), I was informed that it was £240 to get in and if I wanted new locks that were required by insurance companies it costs an extra £550. The total bill (nothing was itemised, just a total figure) came to £1,119. That is without actually finishing the job in full as they only placed a single provisional lock and were supposed to come back later. I spoke to two employees over the phone, the technician admitted that they charge whatever they see fit at the time. When I told them I didn’t want the two locks they were offering i couldn’t be given a price for the provisional lock and he eventually picked a price of £350 for the shoddy provisional lock. With no refund for the work that hasn’t been done yet. It’s textbook bait and switch.

I had another locksmith company out today to fix the poor quality work they had done, the locksmith informed me that the locks could easily have been picked and did not need destroying. He advised that the quote would have been around £100 for the time / call out. I've had both locks replaced with actual British standard locks for £72 per lock.

Tried to organise a refund for the unfinished work but they refused. I’m referring the mater to trading standards. Spend the extra 10 mins and find a reputable company, it seems multiple customers have had the exact same thing happen to them

SCAMMERS! Avoid if you can!

It is a complete scam business model. People who works there are not professionals. Only thing they know how to do is to drill. So they will drill out your lock no matter what. Then they will offer you a cheapest chip lock/cylinder replacement as possible by saying that yours one was a “unique” and it’s hard to find exact the same. They will also charge a fortune for it (whereas one DIY shop it possibly cost 9-10 quid). There will be different extras to add to the final bill. It seems that they make a price accordingly to who their client is - they see If you can afford paying that much. I was completely ripped off by this lousy company and by Vlad personally. I was locked out with my 2.5 year old in a cold weather and locksmith just used our vulnerable situation. On Companies House (gov.co.uk) you can see the whole info about this company, it runs by Romanian people and settled as ltd which doesn’t represent it as a serious business (nothing personal). Also on a Google reviews there will be NO REAL positive review about them unless it was coming from themselves or their wives. I wish I would know all of that before and dig it out from Internet before calling this sh**y company out.

Con artists

I am a keyworker. 34 minutes work and a cheap TSS lock for £333. The guy was a bully, wouldn't take foot out of door. Drilled a few holes. Would not leave unless I paid direct into bank account despite wanting a breakdown of costs. Bully tactics in people's hour of need. AVOID

Avoid if you can

Was locked out of the house this morning, locking my phone indoors as well, neighbour helped to call these people out, when they arrived all that they said they could do was open the door by drilling it and charged me £306 for the 15mins they were here. Had a second locksmith come out to replace the lock and looked at the damage caused, would have charged me a third of the price and would not have needed to drill into the lock to get back into the property. Unfortunatley due to the fact that my neighbour rushed to find me a locksmith I could not be choosy about who came out but I would not use this company again, very disappointed

would not give price

would not give price, then charged nearly £650 to replace a mortice lock (fittings from the old one was there) with an £11 mortice lock , and charged £144 for an emergency call out and it was not an emergency call out. The fitter upped the price and told us to fradulently claim on the insurance when it was simply a replacement and not covered by insurance. The man answering all calls says his name is steve but at companies house it is Mr Eduard-Christian Radu for QUICKFIX LOCKSMITHS LTD Company number 12299029 with no accounts filed and incorporated 5th Nov 2019. They could strike off companies house without ever filing accounts.
