Hired Lewis Removals

Hired Lewis Removals - damaged several of my items with scratches on furniture, broken luggage, and damaged a piece of furniture I could not use again. did not respect the items when loading and unloading (velvet sofa dragged on his van floor). left cloth items in the rain whilst unloading, did not care about items falling to the floor.
The driver himself is not agile to be completing a move, I did a majority of the lifting down 3 flights of stairs, found him to complain quite a lot and simply could not cope with completing the move. Mentioned several times I should've hired a helper - despite mentioning the details of all items of the move, the number of stairs prior to booking. He should have just cancelled the booking instead of agreeing and complaining so much, and doing such a poor job. Would highly recommend to avoid Lewis removals!

We acknowledge that the driver admitted to breaking a leg from the coffee table, and he offered to compensate you on the spot, but you declined. Regarding the broken handle on the old suitcase, the driver used the handle in a normal manner, and it broke due to the weight inside. The driver mentioned that you assured him not to worry about it at the time. However, we understand that feelings can change after the move, and we respect that.

It's important to note that you refused compensation on the spot offered by the driver and we received your damage claim 10 days after the move. As outlined in our terms and conditions, any damage claims must be made within 24 hours after the move to be eligible for compensation. This is to ensure we can address the issue promptly and make a claim with the insurance provider if needed.

We also understand your concerns about the physical assistance required during the move. While we strive to accommodate as much as possible, certain items, like a large velvet sofa, typically require two people for safe handling. Our drivers do their best to manage with the help available on-site, but they may suggest additional help if they find it challenging to move items alone.

Regarding your point about booking based on a list of items and stairs, we cannot physically assess every job in advance, and we rely on customers to provide an accurate description of the move. Our terms and conditions state that it's the customer's responsibility to ensure sufficient manpower is available for handling the items. If the job is beyond what a single driver can manage safely, the driver has the right to suggest additional help or, if necessary, cancel the job. However, this does not waive the payment obligations, as per our policy.

Very good experience with the driver…

Very good experience with the driver and his helper.
They arrived 15 minutes late but the driver call me and told me is on the way and wasn’t his fault for the late time completely understand.

My experience was very good.

My experience was very good.
I had a booking with 2 helpers they are very professional and helpful arrived on time and helped me even to dismantle the bed and they used blankets to protect my stuff.
I will definitely use the service again and I already recommended to my friends.

Quick Man and Van

Although the driver arrived late, (this was due to being stuck in traffic), he did let me know his expected arrival time and duly arrived at that time. Once he was with me, he was very helpful and efficient and got the job done. I'd definitely recommend Andriy and would use his services again.

Never use this company!! Nightmare!!

Absolutely the worst experience my family had with any Van company. I will never ever use Quickmanvan again, I will also tell everyone I know to never use this company.
I had booked an appointment with one specific driver at 10am. He never turned up and there were no updates from him nor the company. We called the first driver several times and no response.
We then called your company and you sent another driver at 12pm who was tremendously slow. We saw him standing and doing nothing and he told my younger brother my family had to bring the items down by themselves. My dad with his injured leg, and younger brother was forced to help him with all of the items and did a lot of lifting.
We were quoted 90 pounds on the website and the final price despite the delays on your end was 174.
This has brought a lot of undue stress on my sick mother and father.

Due to a technical issue with the originally scheduled driver, we promptly arranged for a replacement, which unfortunately delayed the start time. The replacement driver brought a larger van than initially booked to accommodate the unexpected volume of items. This larger van, nearly double the capacity of the originally scheduled medium van, required additional loading time, adding approximately an hour to the move.

Additionally, our team noted the presence of four flights of stairs, which necessitated extra time and effort. As the load was greater than anticipated, your family’s assistance in moving larger items helped speed up the process.

The final cost reflected these additional requirements, including extra labor and time. We hope this clarifies the circumstances and thank you for your understanding.

Terrible customer service

Booked a van ages ago for my move today 28th October. At midnight I received an email to say my driver couldn't do the job and they had replaced him with another driver. My van was booked for 11am and no one turned up. I contacted the driver who said he couldn't be there till 12.15 with no explanation. I then called the number on the website for what I assume is thier head office. The lady I spoke to told me it was too short notice to get another driver so we had to wait even though we had to be out of our property at 12. The new driver then called me to say he was sending someone else as he wouldn't make it for that time. The person he sent was extremely helpful and polite and we can't thank him enough for his help. However an already stressful situation was made even worse by the terrible customer service received. I requested my deposit back, she told me she would speak to her manager and call me back... I'm still waiting for that phone call.

Conmen. They mislead me by their services and stole my money. I cancelled within 7 days and they wouldnt do the right thing and wont give me back a refund. They were rude on the phone and on email. You've been warned they are without question the worst company I have ever dealt with

You cancelled your job within 7 calendar days of the scheduled move, and our terms and conditions clearly state that cancellations require at least 7 working days’ notice for a deposit refund. This was communicated clearly when you booked.

Although we tried to resolve this issue professionally, your communications have included threats, profanities, and offensive language, which is unacceptable. Despite this, we have remained polite and professional in all responses. We cannot and will not tolerate abusive behavior, regardless of the situation.

Furthermore, just because our services did not meet your personal expectations does not mean we are in the wrong or "the worst company" as you claim. Our services are accurately described on our website. "Man and van" services differ from full "house moves," and there is no misleading information about what we offer.

I used this at short notice and the service was amazing. An extremely helpful driver arrived the following morning and took the stress out of moving. Highly recommended.

HORRIFIC

HORRIFIC. Avoid at all costs. Cancelled 1 hour before moving. No replacement. No apology. Rude customer service. No solution offered and hung up on me. Pay more and avoid this terrible company. I am sure the positive reviews are likely paid reviews. AVOID!

In response to the reply: the customer service on the phone was dismissive, combative, offered no apology, professionalism, empathy or solutions.

It was also revealed that the van hadn’t confirmed two days prior as expected, and they left it to one hour before booking to let me know.

I saw the bad reviews before booking but as the responses on here seemed empathetic and accountable I chose to go ahead anyway.

BUT the responses on here are by no means a reflection of the customer service you will receive from this company if something goes wrong.

If you want to gamble with your moving day go with this company, but if you want a service you can reply on, go else where or book a Hertz 24/7 instead.

Okechukwu helped me move flats today…


Okechukwu helped me move flats today and made the process stress-free! He was efficient, friendly, and even helped me move everything down three flights of stairs in the pouring rain! My boyfriend was there to help him load the van for the first hour, and then Okechukwu and I finished the rest of the move and unloading at the new flat together. I booked two hours, and we finished within the booked timeframe, with a bit to spare.

I was anxious since it was my first time moving without parental help, and I had quite a lot of stuff (and I’m not particularly strong, haha), but Okechukwu's positive attitude and helpfulness made a huge difference.

He let me ride in the van to my new flat and shared fascinating stories about his background studying geology! Highly recommend Okechukwu if you're looking for a respectful and friendly mover.

Gaslit and disrespectfully stressful service.

Yes I did book for a 2 hour slot, but that does not mean that they should arrive almost 1 hour late. According to the driver (Mr K) the disrespectful company that didn't understand my complaitnt and why i was asking for compensation, even though I made this very clear in a lengthy initial email to them, there was a misunderstanding on my behalf, of the type of service they offer, which is that the driver can arrive at any time, meaning I had to start the job myself and ending up doing about 70% of the moving job myself, to be gaslit by being told I am taking up further of their time by raising this concern and asking for a discount because I did not pay for 1 hour and half a job and an attitude after I brought up my concern, but that it was still within the scheduled time at that, I did not complain to them when they arrived and I even continued to help move things into my destination, regardless of the tardiness, only to get wrongly accused and have the police called on me for apparently "not wanting to pay"?! When all I asked for was a discount, which still wasn't as big an amount as I should have asked for, considering the circumstances! I said I would pay and I didn't even get an apology at that. They caused me such a distress and the company didn't help either, not understanding where I was coming from. I paid the man, knowing he still did the job he had to do. But I am very unhappy with the interactions of today from both them and their company. Unless you want someone seemingly always late, who blames you for something you did not do and for taking up theirs and their company's time (as I should do, because I have paid for that time and service!) Then don't bother using this driver or this service.

In response to their response: But the efficiency of the service is made void when you are booked to be there at a certain time and arriving almost 1 hour late is unacceptable. As it could have ended up going out of the booked hours if I had not taken it upon myself to do the work in the beginning, as a matter of my own time keeping urgency. And I would have been even more upset if I had to pay them for extending the time outside of what was booked. Being late and making someone wait, when they could have other things to be doing is inexcusable. And I DID NOT say that I would not pay them, I continously asked them to understand where I was coming from and to discuss a discount when they initially said they would not accept one. And until I said I would call the company about this, as I was advised by YOU guys to ask for a discount from them first, regarding their tardiness, I was met with a gaslit comment of saying that I was waisting their time and that I should not be compensated for their lateness and their lack of help at the beginning, all because they did it during the time it was booked. It took me 30-40 minutes to move everything BY MYSELF, up and down 2 flights of stairs!! And I paid for the additional help! It all makes no sense to be told that and this time with your response that it is unreaosnable, when I had every reason to escalate it the way I did, in all fairness and rightly so. I said I would pay but I wanted to discuss a discount that made sense. What they asked for did not make sense, so we sat it out. They realised they were in the wrong and ridiculous for calling the police, so that is why they ended up trying to compromise and discounted more than they were willing to. And they did not apologise nor offer a refund. I will not accept a wrongly accused judge of my character when I was NOT the one in the wrong. I would not recommend this driver or this service.

If the job took less than the 2 hours you reserved, it doesn’t mean we didn’t fulfill our part—it simply reflects the efficiency of the work.

The driver did helped you with the items, but indeed he didn't do the job himself - but that was the agreement, because you booked driver helping. As for the incident with the police, this occurred due to concerns when you initially refused to pay, and the driver suggested that he will be forced to call the police (which he never did). Extorting us for additional compensation is not a fair approach and it won't change your dissatisfaction, especially after the driver already provided a refund. In every email you contacted us you just asked for compensation, that was your aim - not for an apology. We are sorry we can't agree with you.
