Ordered two custom length Seamless Steel Tube 20mm x 3mm Wall from my multi fuel stove to replace the existing ones that hold the baffle in place. Order arrived very quickly and the sleeves are the perfect fit. Very pleased indeed and they were a fraction of what the spare parts would cost from the stove supplier.

needed a new wood burner baffle plate …
needed a new baffle plate for the woodburner, it's an old one and can't get a fitted replacement, so have had ones cut for me before, but having found this site, and the price of their sheet steel, meant i could order a sheet large enough to cut 2 new baffles for less than the price of having one sourced and cut locally ... that it arrived on time, well packaged, and i've cut and fit is all just gravy ...

Gave them another chance after a year, should've known better
I used to use rapid metals all the time for my stock in the laser business. About a year ago their quality dropped badly, scratched plates, trapezoid cuts from misaligned guillotines and quality control fell off a cliff. To their credit they attempted to rectify with replacement orders but the same thing happened to the replacements. I stopped using them.
Recently my brass supplier was oos so I turned back to RM in the hopes that enough time had passed they'd sorted their game out. Sadly I was mistaken, 15 plates of polished brass ordered, every single one was scratched and damaged on the protected side, the backs of half were covered in some liquid that has caused rapid tarnishing, and yet again, misaligned cuts, although not as noticeable as the previous batches, but they're useless to my business. Lesson learnt, companies don't change. Don't order from these guys if you want the protected sides of metal cuts to be as advertised, they're only good for scrap and testing.

As discussed with you we have already provided a full refund for the order and also replaced the damaged items. As far as I am aware there were no further issues with the replacements, so if there is, please get in touch.
We sell a lot of sheet metal and rarely seem to have issues so it's unfortunate that you have had a negative experience with us on more than one occasion. As you have said you did previously use us regularly so I would hope that your purchasing history goes some way to restoring some confidence in us alongside the prompt response to rectifying any issues you have had. Great source of metals
Really useful source of small quantities of a broad range of metals. I'm a keen DIY and classic car enthusiast and have purchased aluminium, brass, copper and mild steel sheet, plus extrusions, tube and angle iron over many years. I'm less than 15 miles away so can collect my orders. I do miss their off-cuts bin, though. I used to buy metal from these to have in stock at home just in case I needed a bit of metal for a project.

No Returns Policy
Not transparent about return policy on the web page leading to confusion, wasted money, an item I can no longer use and will put straight in the bin. Very few items on their site are returnable and customer service is poor. Delivery fees are very high for a small item. I will never shop here again.

I'm sorry to see you have left us a 1 star review. Further to the conversation we have already had regarding the return of your order, unfortunately as I explained, the order, as with most items from us, was custom cut so doesn't qualify for a refund unless it's faulty.
The item you received was, as described and as ordered, a 20mm Tube with a 1.5mm wall. I have checked the bar it was cut from and it measures accurately. You intended it to fit inside another item, not purchased from us, that had a 20mm I.D, which as I explained would not fit. You would need a smaller tube to allow for tolerance on both items. This doesn't mean the item is faulty, it means it was the wrong size that you ordered, which was an unfortunate mistake.
Our returns policy is clearly available on the website and it's clear when you are entering your dimensions and qty's at the point of ordering that it is a custom product. There is also a reminder before you checkout, to double check your measurements. The discount code I have sent you already is still available to use for any further purchase you make as a gesture of goodwill, and I have answered all of your concerns in full and promptly so I'm sad to see the customer service you have experienced described as poor.
You have very right to feel frustrated as the purchase did not work for you as you intended, but as I have explained, this is not because the product was supplied incorrectly. The discount code is still available and I'm sorry you feel like you have received poor service from us, that was never our intention.
