RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN
They were recommended my credit karma We started the process on 6/13/24 and was approved fairly quickly. They asked for several documents which I provided in a timely fashion, and a few days later then my loan specialist asked for the same documents over again and I told him that I already snap them and he said oh OK I see. Then they had a sign a loan agreement and FedEx the title information so they can get this loan finalized and my loan specialist again. A few days later I asked for some more paperwork that again I’ve already sent and he said oh I see OK he promised to give me a call back the next day to give me an update. Never got a phone call, I had to text Tim several times the following day and finally got a phone call back on that phone call. He asked for some more documentation at last minute that’s when I asked to speak to a supervisor I received your phone call from the supervisor the next day we got through that hurdle, and got the paperwork that they were requesting, I was told that my loan specialist should have asked for that upfront today on July 2. I was told that we still need more paperwork. I told my loan specialist who is a different one this time to help finish this up. I already sent it to the old loan specialist and they said that they could not find it , I was uncomfortable, sending the same documents again due to the sensitive information that was on them. I spoke with the supervisor again this afternoon and told him to cancel my contract, and that I would never do business with you guys again it just seemed with this company that their loan specialist do not know what they’re doing and they’re constantly asking for paperwork. They’ve already got I would not do business with this company even if they were the only company that does this.
These people did the SAME thing to me…
These people did the same thing to me as they have done to others on here! Credit Karma said i had "Excellent" approval odds for a very good deal yet when i accepted good loan offer, they had me fill out info, submit documents and was told i had been approved. Then they cancelled my loan for some mysterious reason, called me back and apologized, then told me there was no way i could get said loan and instead offered me a whole other loan, which was NOT good. They did a HARD inquiry and in the end did NOT give me what they had initially promised, smh. NEVER AGAIN!
Low rate quoted but not Given
I received an invite from Credit Karma to reduce my auto loan rate for a new car I just purchased and selected Rate Genius to apply. The rate shown was 5.45% for 60 months but of course in the fine print it says "** Estimated". My credit score is in the 800's, My total annual income is over $135k and my debt ratio is excellent by Credit Karma standards but yet I didn't qualify for the rate shown. I received another invite from Credit Karma only this time it was through Auto Pay at the same rate, I applied through their site and my application was accepted but for some unknow reason it was cancelled. After doing some research I discovered both the companies, as well as a third Tresl, offer the same services all tied to Rate Genius. I have yet to hear back from them to explain why my application was cancelled but I assume it was because I didn't take to higher rate offered to me.
Changing rates AFTER documents signed
Trying to set up car insurance, I’m told I have to do everything via phone, have been asked to send private documents via text message, even when I can talk to my agent, Andrew Lawlor, I’m constantly asked for more and more documents that he never told me I needed. It’s been a 3 week process now and documents are signed, but now Andrew Lawlor is telling me that my rates are going to CHANGE?! No. The documents with the rates are SIGNED! He should never have had me sign the documents if he needed more paperwork submitted. Extremely unprofessional, he is a horrible agent. This is so unprofessional and causing so much distress. Would NOT recommend.
Waste of Time
I submitted an application to refinance my 2023 Bronco Raptor in response to a mailing I received from RateGenius on a Tuesday and when I checked the application status on Wednesday morning, it showed as canceled. I did not receive a notice of adverse action nor any update that my application status had been changed (and yes I checked SPAM). When I contacted them to find out what happened, I was given this explanation "Unfortunately, we were unable to find you an approval for the application due to the value of the vehicle being less than what’s still due on the loan. The payoff balance on the vehicle is too high for our lenders and they might require a large down payment to cover any negative equity. I apologize for any inconvenience, and we hope to serve you in the future." Naturally, I checked myself and the valuations for my vehicle on KBB and Consumer Reports were between $3,700 and $22,000 above my principle balance for the average and most optimistic valuations respectively. In addition, my principle balance is $6,000 lower than the original amount financed. When I asked what valuation was used on my vehicle, I was told that they could not provide this information in an email. My advice is to avoid doing business with this company as they lack transparency, credibility to deliver as advertised and the professionalism to communicate outcomes to potential customers.
Jan 5, 2024 Update: I received a message from from RateGenius yesterday morning indicating that my application has been submitted for approval even though it was canceled on Jan 3, 2024 and still reflects that status as of today. Simply ridiculous.
No Follow-Up
Took all my information, hounded me to call them multiple times a day, talked with someone who was supposed to call me 10 minutes later...8 days later still waiting. I guess I won't be using them moving forward. What a waste of a credit check.
DO NOT believe the hype
RateGenius (Autopay) will respond to you quickly and call you to attempt a deal. The bad thing is hey'll run your credit and tell you the posted offer isn't available in your area, regardless of your credit score (mine was over 800). They'll then send you an e-mail claiming you declined their offer although they never made an offer...total scam.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME
Applied in the evening. During the application process it was sent to AUTOPAY, assuming one of their lenders. Which ironically I had received a pre-qualify letter from. The NEXT DAY I received 50 SPAM CALLS with no messages, & an email stating they needed $3200.00 to refi my auto loan. I AM REFINANCING NOT BUYING.
Stay Away from the shenanigans.

No thank you
Got a letter in the mail saying I was pre-approved for refinancing. Would be $180 less a month than my current loan. Submitted my info online and they come back and said I would have to put a down payment of $5,990!!! who has that kind of money just laying around, I know I don't! NO THANK YOU I WILL KEEP MY CURRENT LOAN! Also yes I know just because you're "pre-approved" doesn't mean you will be approved but $5,990 that's RIDICULOUS

Great experience
It was smooth process. Easy to understand. Good rate for my auto loan needs. The agent Joseph Hernandez was extremely professional and patient in explaining details and every step.
One thing that I did not like so much that they only provided me offer from one single lender and there were no options to choose from. But I am fully satisfied with what service I got from rate genius.
Unprofessional and No Customer Service
I’m only giving them 1 star because 0 is not an option. We recently sent in all of our information to this lender and we’re all set up to refinance our truck. After everything was sent, we received no more information about our vehicle. Dennis Ortiz did all of our paperwork, and we never heard from him again. Over a month of trying to get ahold of him, or anymore and no one returned our calls. Absolutely the WORST customer service and company I have ever dealt with. If you’re looking for a place with no help, no way to get in contact with anyone, and a complete waste of your time, this is the place. If you’re trying to save money… I would look elsewhere.
My agent was very knowledgeable
My agent was very knowledgeable, straight forward, and answered all my questions. He also found the rate and auto warranty I was looking for and cutting my rate almost in half with refinancing my auto loan.
