Great experience from beginning to end. Professional eye test, good help choosing frames. Lovely helpful staff who did not make me feel rushed and were very kind. I have been to Rawlings for many years now and always find them so helpful!

One of the most professional, honest and earnest services I've had - I've gotten so used to being upsold various things getting an honest eye test and not feeling like I was being given a sales pitch makes all the difference.

Another great experience. This visit was for my five year-old son. It was his first time seeing an optician and he came away having enjoyed it. Francesca was so good with him. You couldn't ask for more. AB with DB, Croydon, 3/12/2025.

I was advised by urgent care at hospital to seek an emergency eye assessment following a period of some alarming visual disturbances. The ophthalmologist who carried out the assessment could not have been more thorough, competent, kind, patient and reassuring. She carried out a range of examinations on my eyes, explaining simply and clearly what she was doing and what the results of each examination were. She followed up , as she promised, by sending me written information about the visual migraine I had experienced, and when to seek further follow up, together with a copy of her formal assessment. I was really impressed by her level of expertise and sensitive patient manner.

The eye test was very thorough. The lady explained all I needed to know regarding any problems with my eyes, clearly and professionally. I am very confident in having my eye test at Rawlings. The staff are friendly and efficient.

From the receptionist to the doctor who saw me i could not find a fault. Very polite and professionsal greetings. The Eye Doctor who saw me was very thorough and gave me all the time i needed to explain. I left feeling i had been well assisted with my problem.

I attended Rawlings for a through eye check.

The service was highly professional and friendly. In all truth I never had such an in depth thorough check of my eyes and stable care and explanation of what is going on throughout a very lengthy check from the Pre-check and the Main- check.

I highly commend Rawlings for their all round care and would only attend their practice from now on.

I have been going to this practice since I was young and now my daughter's attend here also. Every single member of staff are kind, polite, friendly and extremely helpful. I have tried other opticians in the past but none compare to the Croydon branch!

I recently had a hearing test at Rawlings Opticians and Hearing Care - Croydon and was really impressed with the service. The staff were friendly, professional, and put me at ease straight away. The test itself was thorough and clearly explained, using pictures, graphs to help me understand. I felt confident that I was in good hands.

It was reassuring to have everything talked through in simple terms, and I didn’t feel rushed at all. I’d definitely recommend their hearing services to anyone looking for a reliable and caring experience.

They always have great communication, with reminders of upcoming appointments, the staff are so friendly and helpful, they really make the experience very easy and hassle free. I highly recommend the practice plan, very affordable with excellent benefits.

I've been a contact lens patient at Rawlings for about 30 years and have always found them very satisfactory. I recently had a problem with my vision (not related to my lenses) and they were very helpful, offering me an appointment within 24 hours and then carrying out lots of tests and giving me good care and advice. I'm very happy to recommend them.

Friendly staff, and excellent care from Mr David Barker, who took time over the examination and to explain things and suggest possible treatments.

The staff are friendly and helpful and the choice of frames is very varied. My experience here has been exceptionally good and after years of experience visiting other opticians I will definitely not be looking elsewhere in the future.

Went for an eye test as the last few I've had at Specsavers haven't inspired me with much confidence.

Found th we guys on Google and thought it was worth the try.

So so glad I did - best eye test (and longest!!) I've ever had. Was extremely thorough, lots of explanations and I walked out of there a bit stunned at the level of service provided.

Have already recommended these guys to a few friends - just brilliant.

Btw - when they say keep an hour for the eye test, they really mean it! Priscilla was brilliant.

Super friendly, professional and helpful staff. Never have to wait long to be called in for my appointment and everything is explained perfectly to me. Staff go above and beyond to help during your visit.

I had gone in for an emergency check first and then booked an eye test for later. The emergency check was OK, and they recommended a particular brand of eye drops. I told them I had the same brand but a different colour, and they said it had some different ingredients, without clarifying further, even after I asked, and just told me to keep using my one if I wanted. I noticed everybody was looking at me and listening to the conversation, all the four people around the front desk, so it was odd.

Then there was some things I wanted to ask during the eye test which was next week. I did ask some things which were answered by the optician Francesca during the test, but some weren't. Some weren't even heard fully, like if my eye was healed from last time, and that something else had happened between the two appointments to my eye and if she could see anything to that effect or was it OK? Could I do something for that?

Then I was shown the glasses for my vision -- that had changed slightly -- which were expensive. But the person who showed me did fix my older glasses and the way they sat behind my ear so they didn't hurt. In the meantime putting down another spectacle company.

Then I left, and remembered to ask my question that wasn't heard during the appointment. I called them back and they said there was a charge to speak to the optician! They told me to email them with my question, which then wasn't fully answered, even after following up.

So, a mixed experience, hence a mixed review.

Totally made my visit worth while … glasses now fit perfectly …
