Absolutely disgraceful aftersales care from Marshall Nissan Reading. Avoid at all costs.
Two years ago, my 18-year-old daughter purchased a used Kia Picanto from this dealership. From day one, the experience has been defined by broken promises, indifference, and shockingly poor customer service.
At the point of sale, we were told the service history was “missing” but would be forwarded on. It never arrived. Despite repeated calls, emails, and countless assurances, it was never provided. Two years later, we are still without it. This is not a minor administrative oversight — service history materially affects a vehicle’s value and buyer confidence.
Equally concerning, the car was supplied without a spare wheel or a tyre mobility kit. We were assured this would be resolved. It wasn’t. Multiple follow-ups were simply ignored. Supplying a vehicle with no practical solution for a puncture and then failing to remedy it shows a staggering lack of responsibility. The fact that this car was sold to a young driver makes the indifference even more troubling.
Within weeks of purchase, an electric window failed. What followed was nearly a year of being ignored by the aftersales and service teams. Calls went unanswered. Messages were not returned. Promised callbacks never came. It took almost twelve months to have a basic fault addressed.
Recently, when my daughter decided to sell the vehicle, she once again contacted the dealership in a final attempt to obtain the missing service history — something crucial when reselling a car. After weeks of chasing and receiving the same dismissive treatment, she gave up.
I then stepped in personally. After weeks of being passed from department to department, enduring unanswered phones that ring endlessly, and repeatedly being told someone would “urgently” call back (they never do), it is abundantly clear that this dealership’s aftersales operation is fundamentally broken.
This is not a one-off mistake. This is a consistent pattern of neglect, avoidance, and empty promises over a two-year period.
If you value accountability, basic customer care, or any form of aftersales support, I strongly recommend taking your business elsewhere.
