I had a lot of questions going into the mortgage process and in particular in working with an online lender. Dean was thorough and patient in answering my questions, helping me become informed, and making the process as painless as possible.

I was nervous about qualifying for a home loan. Mr. Gillespie helped me understand the process and answered all of my questions. He kept things real with me and helped me understand how to stay within my budget. The other members of the Real Genius Team were also helpful during this process!

The process was quick and smooth. Gigi was always available for any questions, all milestones went according to schedule and we were ready to close prior to closing date.

We recently completed our home purchase with Real Genius. After the sellers agent questioned our choice of lender, our mortgage origination officer, Charles Petruzzi, went above and beyond in speaking with her about Real Genius. I believe that was the tipping point in getting our offer accepted.
The rate offered by Real Genius was well below the competition and the process could not have gone more smoothly, we were even able to close early.
I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again for refinancing or future home purchases. Charles was knowledgeable, professional, and responsive… I couldn’t ask for anything more. Our processor, John, was equally competent and communicative.
I worked as a mortgage originator earlier in my career and I can’t say enough good things about Real Genius and Charles’ team. I kept waiting for some hiccup along the way (having seen it many times, it just happens), but none ever came.

Trish was great to work with! She was both attentive and responsive. Whenever we had questions or needed clarification, she was quick to jump into ation and make things happen. We had a small hiccup a day before closing and she and her team rallied to make sure there were no delays, and our escrow team raved about their responsiveness. Mike Remillard has helped me in the past with loans. Each time he was responsive and dedicated. He helped me look at several scenarios and worked to make sure I got what I needed. I had a situation with the real estate agent pushing me to go with his preferred lender who turned out to be not a direct lender but merely a broker who was going to charge me thousands of dollars and probably a built-in favor for the real estate agent. I was referred to Real Genius through a trusted connection and had multiple calls in 2-3 days to understand the lending process, get comfortable with the timing of closing, things needed of me, and overall just very open, transparent communication. I don't think it could have gotten any better. I would recommend it again and again.

I had a great experience. I was able to obtain a low interest rate and low closing cost. Competitors could not match the interest rate I obtained. Not only did I obtain a low interest rate, I worked with Elyse who did a wonderful job explaining the process to me as a first time home buyer. She kept me informed through the whole process and was even able to get me a pre-qualified letter within 24 hours on a weekend at minimum notice, whereas other lenders I talked responded days later after my offer was to the home was accepted.

The only negative with Real Genius for me was that the underwriter did not work on the weekends and didn't communicate well with my realtor. After receiving my loan estimate on Friday, I had to wait until Monday to recieve the closing disclosure which delayed closing by a day for me. Fortunately, the seller agreed to push the closing day by one day without any penalties. My realtor complained about communication with the underwriter and stated the amount of requested paperwork from Real Genius wasn't typical compared to other lenders. Note, the underwriter communicated with me well, just not the realtor.

Despite, my realtors' negative opinion. I saved tens of thousands of dollars with the better rate, which to me is worth the slight delay and inconvenience of the closing day being pushed back. So, overall, I highly recommend Real Genius. Be sure to understand the availability of your underwriter.
