Much more sensitive

Covers a lot of mold toxins with a lot more sensitivity. Fills me with hope that all is well in this home of ours.

Terrible Customer Service

Terrible customer service. I was told that I would get a ten minute consult with a doctor and the woman that answered the phone at the lab said I would get an appointment on Monday or Tuesday and then I never heard from her with a time. I got a positive result for a Mycotoxin and no info. from them as promised. In addition, in my results it said I could speak with a nurse for a referral, come to find out she is no longer there. The first part of the process was great but the most important part customer service and follow through was horrible.

I ordered 2 tests but only received 1

I ordered 2 tests but only received 1. Their customer service is non-existent and they are totally not interested in the customer. I called multiple times but could not reach an human being. Calls not returned. I emailed the finance department and they emailed the customer service department and after a few days I received a curt email from the “customer service coordinator” telling me that she was looking into the “pull footage to confirm what shipped” implying that maybe I was wrong about not receiving it. No apology at all from anyone. They supposedly are shipping the missing kit that I did not receive but I have not received shipping confirmation. The order was placed 2 weeks ago. This has been a really bad and frustrating experience. i would not recommend this lab.

Lab work showed up in a timely manner…

Lab work showed up in a timely manner with easy to follow instructions. I sent the test off with the enclosed shipping material and printed address which made that super easy. It took about 2 weeks to get my results which came in the mail and then my receipt emailed to me from the company. My results were easy to read with some added information to help me understand them more clearly. I will defiantly use this company again if I need more testing done.

Unpleasant Customer Service and Inaccurate Results

My family and I were injured after living in a rental home with a severe mold problem. Since then, we have also been plagued with health problems due to the contamination of our belongings. I wanted to get some testing done to confirm the presence of mycotoxins in/on our belongings, both for legal and personal reasons. After reaching out to a few members of the 'mold' community, I was referred to RealTime Laboratories. I tried contacting the company through their web site and phone number to ask some questions, but never received a response. I went ahead and purchased their (EMMA) Environmental Mold and Mycotoxin Assessment for $399.00 since that seemed to be a good fit for my needs.
I received an email from Sam Clark confirming my purchase, and was able to reply with my questions. Specifically, I was interested in getting dust samples from my personal laptop tested for mycotoxins. The laptop was used/housed in the moldy rental home, and using it gives me acute and severe symptoms. My plan was to disassemble the laptop and I inquired whether I could simply mail in the CPU fan (which is small and light), for them to collect the sample from. Sam referred me to their Sales Director, Paul Lemmel to answer my questions.
My interactions with Paul were largely unpleasant. His responses and tone were abrupt and bordering on rude. In the end, Paul told me my request was impossible to fulfill and suggested I simply collect a large amount of dust from somewhere in our current home. I did so and I also collected dust from the same area, on the same day, for another mycotoxin test kit I had purchased from a 3rd party for $82.00.
The results from RealTime indicated that there were no mycotoxins found within my dust sample, to a precision of roughly 1 ppb (parts per billion). However, the results from the other lab indicated that there were 128.5 ppb (parts per billion) of Trichothecene mycotoxins found within my sample. That is a HUGE discrepancy. Especially considering that some mycotoxins demonstrate health affects in animals when consumed orally at a mere 20 ppm. Obviously, I don't know which laboratory results are correct and which are incorrect. But given the severity of our health issues, and clinical history, it's difficult for me to believe that there were zero mycotoxins found within my sample.
Since receiving my results from both labs, I have emailed RealTime to inquire about what may have caused the discrepancy between the results. No one has responded to my queries. I have also reached out to the lab who returned positive results, with additional questions. I was quickly transferred their primary doctor, who was very helpful and friendly. He told me I could mail in my laptop CPU fan with the 2nd test kit I purchased from them for testing. He even provided tips for how to help prevent contamination while removing/packaging it.
Obviously, others in the mold community have had pleasant experiences with RealTime and I'm not sure why that has not been the case for me. Perhaps not many people are trying to test contaminated objects like myself, so it's out of their expertise. Aside from the poor customer service, I find the potential for false-negative results to be a far more egregious offense. Those of us who have been injured by mold/mycotoxins already face a mountain of doubters. And we look to companies like RealTime to give us validation so we don't feel as crazy as the world tells us we are.

Don't go by their shipping timeframe

According to the website, the test kit is either supposed to be shipped within 24 hrs or received within 24hrs. Either way, I didn't receive mine for close to a week. The lab's address is in TX and I'm In AZ. Not that far for it to travel.

I felt like it was a waste of my $400.00. I had visible mold on the block walls in our basement, but all the tests showed up negative for any mold. I think I didn't give enough in the sample, but I feel there wasn't ample explanation on how to get the sample.

Never received order, only offered partial refund. Rude customer service.

I ordered a test for $400. Never received it. I was treated very rudely by the gentlemen who answered the phone when I called to inquire about where my test was. He sarcastically said "If I was you I would have called within two days if I didnt receive the test" and laughed at me. I explained to him I just had open heart surgery and cancerous tumors removed and that I'm struggling to get all the stuff taken care of and called as soon as I could. He literally just transferred me someone's voicemail😪 I asked for a full refund and am being offered a partial refund by email. Not acceptable.
