My experience with selling my MacBook to rebuy

I sent them my MacBook, which was in excellent, almost new condition. The device was original and had been replaced by Apple according to their official policy and warranty. I also included the official Apple documents showing that the replacement and repairs were done properly with genuine parts. Because of that, and based on the pre evaluation questions I answered, I expected a fair and straightforward assessment.

When rebuy checked the device, they told me the MacBook was “manipulated.” This was surprising, because the Apple papers clearly confirmed the opposite. I contacted customer service and explained everything again, including the proof from Apple.

From one side I understand that rebuy has strict rules and that this can help with consistency. But in my case these strict rules went beyond the actual situation and even beyond the official Apple standards, which made the assessment feel unfair.

Their reply was polite and they said they understood my frustration, but nothing was actually solved. There was no second check and no real explanation for why their assessment did not match the official Apple report. In the end I felt that my MacBook was not evaluated fairly.

I am sharing this experience so that future customers understand what happened in my case and so the company can hopefully improve its assessment process. Again, this feedback is only about this one specific transaction.

While we fully respect and acknowledge the official Apple documents, our in-house inspection process must adhere to standardized parameters to ensure consistency across all assessed devices. When a variance is found that impacts our technical guarantee, it can unfortunately result in a reduced offer.

We apologize that this discrepancy was not explained more clearly by our Customer Service team. We are committed to improving the dialogue surrounding technical rejections.

Xbox Series X purchase

Bought an Xbox Series X from Rebuy about two months ago and I’m really happy with it! 🎮

I had a few questions about shipping, and their customer service replied super fast and made sure it arrived in 4 days, just like they promised. Great communication!

I went for the “very good” condition one — it had a small scratch on the front and what looked like a bit of coffee on the cooler 😅. Would be nice if they checked the looks a bit better before sending.

Other than that, it works perfectly and runs smooth. Overall, I’m really happy with my purchase and would definitely buy from them again. 👍

Sadly As expected

I wanted to try rebuy out as my families and friend tech nerd. Sadly the reviews that say; rebuy damages items to lower the value seems to be true. (I have picture proof)

Furthermore were the delivery times not close to the expected ones. (As in later)

For my friends are family i wouldn't recommend them to sell stuff to them, maybe buy from them.

I myself would still buy from then just never sell to them again.

Color: The device received was Titanium Black, not the Gray color declared in the initial offer. We also buy this model, but not at the same price.

Condition: Most significantly, our technicians found more prominent signs of wear on the screen than expected, which required us to re-classify the device from the offered 'Very Good' to 'Good' condition.

After some hesitation

After some hesitation, i decided to give reBuy a shot after conducting some reserach. I have been using this site for several years now and for my personal experiences, the products which I have purchased have been nothing short of excellent. Some have even exceeded the condition status (expected good, turned out to be far better). My latest purchase recently was unopened and was delivered as that. Very happy with the services they provide and will continue to use them for my next phone upgrade.

Scam website

I sold my phone to rebuy.nl with the promise of receiving around €600. I sent my device with their shipping label and provided all required documents (IMEI, purchase proof, contract).

However, my package got “lost” during transport. Since then, I’ve been stuck in a never-ending investigation between Rebuy and DPD. I have been left without my phone and without the money I was supposed to receive.

The worst part has been the lack of transparency and communication. Despite following up many times, I was only told to “wait 6–8 weeks.” In the end, my claim was denied, and I was accused of providing “irregular” documents — even though I submitted genuine proof. No clear explanation, no detailed report, just a refusal to pay.

This entire experience left me feeling scammed. I lost my phone and the €600 payment I was counting on. I cannot recommend rebuy.nl to anyone — the process was stressful, slow, and ultimately dishonest.

Product never arrived, they won't give a refund

I ordered a phone from Rebuy and it never arrived. I was at home when it was supposed to be delivered and DHL did not even attempt to deliver it but gave a fake signature and marked it as delivered.

I contacted Rebuy who told me that since the signature did not match the signature on my passport they would open an investigation with DHL and I would be reimbursed. I then bought the same phone from them trusting that they would reimburse the first one that never turned up. They told me they would contact me when DHL concluded the investigation.

Of course no one ever contacted me and after over 8 weeks I reached out to them, only to be told they will not issue a refund. I have lost 800 euros because of DHL lying and Rebuy's terrible customer service. I even bought the same product TWICE so I clearly did not receive the first one.

What an awful experience, this was my first time shopping with Rebuy and I will never do it again.

Good buy-in prices

I have sold items to rebuy a few times already and I am really satisfied. They buy in at good, realistic prices, process the item inspection quickly and pay the agreed amount without hassle. Excellent way to recycle your used electronics and get a fair price for them. I have however, not bought anything from rebuy so I cannot comment on that.

Product missing (stolen) from package

Product missing from package that was delivered by DHL. I should have noted that second option from complaints drop down list is : missing product. A big red flag I missed! Although I provided all evidence Rebuy never filed a complaint with DHL but informed me that they did and report indicates they are not responsible. In the end I am left without a phone and of course money as there was no option for compensation..warranty is void in this case. A dispute and even court case is next.

Ripoff

Ripoff, delivered it to some random person when I was not home even though it required a signature. I picked this service because they said they had an insurance, but after needlessly waiting for 8 months it was denied WITHOUT EXPLANATION. Terrible service and liars. Do not trust.

Terrible service. No money back.

I ordered stuff from them, they sent it to my adress and gave it away to some random person all my items, they did not ask for ID or signature, simply gave it away to someone. I never received any money back in fact they told me to talk wiht DHL, but after I filled all documents and wrote many letters to them, theh just never replied to me. I lost my money for their incompetence. Not trust worthy website, they do not care about anything after receiving money. Stay away from them
