Just want to keep you updated the bike is brilliant. I’ve been using it every day. I just want to thank you for giving a new sense of freedom mentally and physically. I forgot how much a bike gives you that.😁

Well done Rob

Well done Rob. Just had my Boardman gravel bike converted by Red Door. Compared to my other retro fit e-bike this has much more feedback through the motor and has a useful cable free head unit ( extra) which lets you know the health of the battery in real time. Looks like range will,be better also. The motor is where I think it should be; in the back wheel. Service from Rob superb, kept me informed all through the process and answered all my questions with knowledge and patience. Top man

Red door bike conversions

From the very beginning Rob was very patient and professional with me as I took some time to make a decision in the end bought of another bike from him which had been converted, at a very reasonable price , after riding it for about 100 miles or so very happy with the results a great way of converting two e-bike and would highly recommend, once again many thanks to Rob for his patience and professionalism at all times

This guy really knows what he's doing.

From the first conversion with him, I was reasured that he had the knowledge required to carry out a professional job on my bike. Now I've had it back for long enough to know that I made the right choice. it has taken me a few days to get to know how to use the controls to achieve the performance I need. It looks like my wife will have her bike done soon - what more can I say! Oh yes, thank you very much for a job well done!

Great conversion

The complete experience from start to finish was amazing. I was talked through every step of the conversion very professionally. Additionally, being able to take a test ride is amazing. You know exactly what you are going to get. When my conversion was complete, which in my case was two days, I received my bike back in fantastic condition. The servicing which goes along side the conversion had made it ride significantly better than before.
Conversion wise, amazing!! It's reduced my 25 mile commute by 20 mins. You still get a work out but get help when needed. Put simply it's amazing. Highly recommended.

I had the pleasure of riding one of the mechanics converted old road bike now firmly an e-bike.

The design of the battery and the economy of cabling is elegant genius.

The bike handles well. Gears all are fine and the power comes in with minimal lag .

Frankly though comparing it to my £3k e bike it’s epic and a fraction of the cost. Even buying a second battery which is roughly the size of a bag of sugar is way less than the main stream bike I have.

Plus of course you recycle ( excuse the pun) the old bikes. Ruddy well done.

Power assisted cycling at its best

Power assisted cycling at its best
I’ve now had my boost kit fitted to my Montague folding mtb for a couple of weeks. Delivery was pretty much on time and the wheel was very well packaged. Fitting it myself was very straightforward. The resulting overall appearance is very discrete – it doesn’t look like an e-bike. Which is good news as from my own experience e-bikes are a favourite target for thieves.
The riding experience is brilliant. This is power assisted cycling at its best. The power modes are well conceived and give enough flexibility without complex controls or throttles. The wireless display connects quickly and is useful for changing modes and monitoring battery voltage, but everything works fine without it. Eco mode is ideal for giving just enough assistance to take the edge off your effort, whilst boost is great for hills, keeping up with traffic or just going fast for the heck of it. I haven’t used super boost yet as my local terrain is fairly easy. Even in eco mode the motor kick-in at low speed is useful for getting across busy roads or accelerating away from traffic lights.
The great thing is that I still have the riding and handling characteristics of my original bike, and even with the extra weight, riding unpowered is still practical and enjoyable. For me the power levels are just about right. More power would detract from the cycling experience. A waterproof cover for the battery / control unit is perhaps the one thing which is missing, but I’m pretty sure Boost will address this in the future
Nick is very accessible for advice. When I phoned up for information before buying the kit, it was Nick on the other end. Overall, outstanding performance, at a very affordable price, without detracting from the bike’s original handing or appearance.
