I placed an order on August 8, 2025 (order no. 8082510074). Despite repeated assurances only given after my own inquiries that the products would be shipped shortly, nothing has ever been dispatched. The last message I received was on September 11, and since then there has been complete silence.
Unacceptable handling of an order and clear lack of customer service. I cannot recommend Ocean Store.
I have bought corals and drygoods twice from this website and i have never had any issues. They always answer my questions and if anything come up they promptly write an e-mail.
First time the order arrived without a problem, second time the delivery company destroyed the box (it was well packed from the the store), this led to one coral without water, all other corals was fine. I took pictures and wrote to their support who instantly set me up with a new coral which i will recieve with my next order.
I will use this website again without hesitating and can only recommend it.

I made 2 orders there.
The first order was packed and send relatively promptly, followed by absolute disaster of the delivery. DHL wouldn't deliver it because, for some unknown reason, they sent it as a company package, not a private package. After tons of back and forth I managed to get it from the DHL center, which was really far from me, and added about 40% to the order cost, making it pointless for me to get it in this shop as any savings were gone.
2nd order I've done last week. I placed an order just after 6am. Just to give them one more chance. I backed out 20 minutes later, but they have no way of cancelling your order, which is red flag number 1. I wrote to them as that was the only way. An hour later I got a message that they already shipped the order, which is a pile of crap, because they don't even open until 10. So they lied and they ignored my request.
I called them (from Sweden), after a long time I got an unpleasant man answer the phone, and when I explained the situation, his response was "We're working our asses off here, what do you want?" He promised to cancel the order. Something was done, but the new order was created on the negative sum (I guess that's their process), but it is nearly 30 euros short of what I paid. I got a mail from the later on that day that they did in fact catch the package before it was sent and the refund will be issued. I replied to them, politely, to advice me on how long will this take. No response. I wrote again. No response. I created another support ticket for this issue. No response.
It has now been 2 phone calls, 3 mails and 5 days later. I got bad treatment, lies, shorted refund with no explanation why, no replies and no money refunded as of yet. And all that with zero response from the company.
I will have to assume that this whole operation is a scam and bring it to the relevant authorities. Fortunately for me, I have the means to pursue this if they don't refund, as this is entirely against the law, both Dutch and EU.
I will update this if I get any response from them, or get a refund.
Until then, I can't possibly advise enough to stay away from this company, unless you have both time and money to lose.
Quick delivery but sent via UPS Express Saver, that means delivery "by the end of the day".
Could be fine depending on the time of year or not. Competitors I have dealt with use UPS Express that will give you a fixed time (ie 11 am). Feels more secure this time of the year when days are colder.
Some of the corals were in line with expectations like Hydnophora and Cyphastrea.
Several though has very misleading photos on the company´s website.
Montipora "Purple" looks absolutely nothing like the photos, I have seen specimens looking exactly like the photos in real life, but this definitely not what is sold here. Beware!
Stylophora "Pink" has photos that is completely unrealistic and looks nothing like the specimen sold here. Beware!
Correct description would instead be "pinkish" or "pink/brown" as some competitors label this variant, more truthful.
Pterogorgia anceps is sold in a sad state, the coral was not clean but brown with overgrown alage. No reputable dealer sells you a coral in that state really, is my experience.
I order 2 urchins, few snails, copepods , sand dollar and shrimp. Everything was so well packed and great quality. Both of the urchins are very pretty and sand dollar is amazing.Week after they are all happy in my reef tank. Unfortunately the shrimp arrived dead but sometimes you can’t do anything to prevent it. He was well packed and I think nothing else can be done. They offer me a replacement with my next order which I think is more than fair. I highly recommend and I definitely will order again.
Bad service when the item does not live up to the website's description.
I bought a coral as ultra orange and it was very nice in the picture, but when I got it home it was beige. The picture on the website is nowhere near, what I got delivered. I wrote to them and they could see that it was not ultra orange but they could not see the problem, because it was bigger than I had paid for. But now it was the color of the corals I was interested in and not the size.
The wrong picture is still on the website.
My recommendation is just to buy from them, if you are familiar with dry goods and can't find it anywhere else.
It's a real shame because they have a great selection.
But I will look to buy from others in the future
DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY.
Purchased almost €3,000.00 worth of aquarium equipment from them. Prior to paying I asked if they can supply the goods with a UK 3 pin plug. I received a very swift reply confirming that they can, so i paid.
2 weeks later the goods arrived with European plugs, along with unusable 3 pin plug adapters which literally dont fit the European plug. I highlighted this to the company and I was told "Sorry, but its easy for you to sort" by going and buying new adapters.
It is illegal to sell goods to Ireland or the UK without a safe and useable 3 pin plug, which the company clearly does not care about. They are willing to break the law and screw their customers over, simply for their own profits. They are selling illegally and cannot be trusted.
For clarity, I emailed the company prior to posting this and I was not offered any single solution or compensation for their own error in any way.
