They will hold your money hostage

The account has been a headache from the start. I'm a mellow person who doesn't get upset easily, but my patience has vanished with all the issues. When I opened the account, I couldn't get access to it for several days. I've never had that experience with any other bank before. Then, the Zelle payments take numerous days to go through, which is again an issue l've never encountered with other banks. I called but got nowhere; there was no help at all. I wanted to close this account but found out I'll get charged a fee if I close it before six months. Then I was charged $18 for a monthly fee after months of no fees. When I opened the account, it was indicated that if I had a monthly $500 direct deposit, I wouldn't be charged a monthly fee. I called, and they said I could change to a different account that doesn't charge fees, and I got the $18 refunded. Now I try to do Zelle transfers, and my account was restricted. After calling to verify my information, which I did, I now have to go in person. I'm on mandatory overtime for the next month, Monday
through Saturday. So my money is being held hostage until I'm off overtime. This is unacceptable.

Regions bank doesn’t take accountability for their weak account security …

My online banking got hacked and $600 was stolen from my account, I called their fraud number and took every possible action that could. I just received a notice saying that my account will not be credited and that the charges was appears to have been authorized. The man at the branch had already told me I was the 3rd person that came in that morning saying their account had been hacked and compromised. Their security ain’t worth a grain of💩, I wouldn’t recommend them to my worse enemy!!!

On vacation out of the country and was using a secured credit card by regions and funding the card using the Zelle product. I find out 3 days into the trip that regions has a daily and monthly limit on the Zelle product. I tried to contact regions and never got the support. Forced to use a regions bank card with a 3% tax on ever purchase. I manage a 553 employee business and plan to express my frustrations with all of them. Absolutely TERRIBLE....

⸻worst

I am extremely dissatisfied with Regions Bank. Their overdraft fees are excessively high—charging $32 for each overdraft, even if multiple transactions occur on the same day. I have banked with several institutions before, and $32 per transaction is far beyond reasonable.

In addition, their customer service is highly inconvenient. They do not have 24-hour bankers available, which makes resolving issues especially frustrating. Furthermore, I had a dispute that was initially approved, but months later, the bank reversed the decision and took the credited funds back. Initially, I did not receive any credit; I had to wait until the claim was thoroughly investigated before finally getting paid. Then, without notice, the funds were reclaimed months later.

Regions Bank’s lack of consistency and transparency, combined with their steep fees and limited customer support, make banking with them an ongoing challenge. I am currently waiting for them to open just to address this issue once again.

From my experience, Regions Bank lacks the customer-focused approach that other financial institutions offer, and I would not recommend them to others based on these persistent problems.

Regions Bank is not a serious bank

Regions Bank is not a serious bank. After years of flawless use, never an overdraft and always keeping a few thousand dollars in my checking, I tried to mobile deposit a check for 3000. They are holding it for 10 business days which turned out to be more than 2 weeks. Why on earth would Regions think I would ever use them again after this predatory and arbitrary act? No other bank I have ever used has had such a predatory check hold policy. Of course, they had my money within 2 days. The check cleared and they know it is cleared. It is a check from an account at a major bank that I have used dozens of times before. Unprofessional and useless as a bank.

AVOID USING THIS BANK!!

AVOID USING THIS BANK!!

If you ever have a fraudulent charge on your debit card, you will never get it back! All the murchant has to do is send some bogus paperwork showing the transaction and your card and say it was authorized, and Regions will side with them! Even after the merchant agrees to refund you the money, and can't through the card that was closed, Regions will not accommodate you in any way for them to send the money back to your account. They will say it is out of their hands and it is on you to reach out to the merchant and have them send it another way. Which of course, the merchant is not willing to do. They do NOT have the best interest of their clients unless you have hundreds of thousands of dollars or more in their Bank for them to loan out to everyone else. GO ELSEWHERE!!!

RUDE EMPLOYEES

I like regions, but the dedeaux rd branch in mississippi the ladies in there are rude. I will go out of my way to go to the next one before stopping at that bank. I would have gave more stars if I wasn't complaining about this particular branch. Just about every woman in this branch is RUDE and short with you. Someone needs to address this, I myself closed my account due to this problem.

Terrible Customer Service via Online Chat – Completely Unacceptable

I just had a frustrating and unprofessional experience with Kelley A. through Regions Bank’s online chat. I reached out to ask why I was suddenly being charged a fee on my account—something I’ve never seen in the months I’ve had it. Instead of answering my question, Kelley kept repeating that I needed to maintain a certain daily balance, which didn’t make sense because I’ve never had that balance before and was never charged.

When I said it felt like she wasn’t listening and asked for a manager, she repeated the same script again. Then, without explanation, she said she’d waive the fee as a “one-time courtesy.” I told her I didn’t need a courtesy—I needed an actual explanation. Her response? “Be glad that I’m getting the one-time fee waived!”

I asked again for a manager, and suddenly—coincidentally?—the connection failed. I was still connected to everything else, so I doubt it was on my end.

This experience was rude, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. Regions should be ashamed to employ customer service reps who treat loyal customers this way. If this is how they treat customers, they won’t have many left. I’ll be posting this review on every platform I can until someone takes responsibility and fixes this.

Y’all need to do better with your phone customer service. I could not understand the lady I just spoke to, and she was audibly doing other things while on the phone and distracted from the conversation. She would not answer a very general question without my social. This is just the most recent incident. I am considering switching banks because I have had enough.

This bank is NOT SAFE

I just visited the Regions Bank in Plano off 4020 Preston Rd today, Wednesday, April 9th. The teller, Victor, told me he was too busy to help me when I first walked in. I patiently waited for him to help me, but he told me I was not in their system. I was added to my parents’ accounts last month and the banker who helped us came by to see what was happening. He tried to help Victor remedy the situation, but Victor started making a scene, accusing us of attacking him. I could not believe he said, “I FEEL ATTACKED.” This is the most ridiculously unprofessional and immature behavior I have ever witnessed in any type of retail, customer-facing business. The other teller, the branch manager, and the banker apologized to me on his behalf. Why didn’t HE apologize for his own incompetence? The banker was trying to help Victor USE HIS BRAIN to SOLVE A PROBLEM, and he could not cope. UNBELIEVABLE. You had better believe my parents and I will be taking our business elsewhere. WE are the ones who did not feel safe around a crazy person like him!!!

I got a mortgage transfer from another…

I got a mortgage transfer from another mortgage company to REGIONS mortgage back on November 2024
So I had a payment through Chase account the Chase account return it back the payment because regions not received the check I never had a late payment. On the 2nd of March, Regions Bank reported to all three credit reporting agencies a positive account history, but in March, Regions Bank claimed that I was 30 days late on the same account.
This is my first ever late history in my whole entire life try to contact with them. They refused me. I even have evidence that the Ches sent a check for them. No no no. No
Thank you for the rude Katie supervisor

The people who work here have no common sense or compressive skills. They will mess up everything multiple times then say they wont dispute scammers scamming you in Mexico unless you give them documents from the scammers saying they scammed you. They say you won't get bonus offers after saying the opposite.

Most difficult bank I've had to work…

Most difficult bank I've had to work with. They have frozen my debit card several times without alerting me and have now frozen my online and mobile app access. They tell me I have to go to a branch to get everything unfrozen even though I give them every piece of identifying information to do it by phone. I live 100 miles from the closest branch, so it is essentially an entire day wasted driving there and back to get the account unfrozen. Really not a user-friendly bank for people who live in rural areas like I do. Their customer service people at the call center and at the banks are rude and condescending. They also charge a fee for almost everything you do with your account. I'll be closing the account and going somewhere else.
