constant due diligence nightmare
We actually began as a client of a company in the Netherlands called The Office Operator that was acquired by Regus some years ago. When Regus acquired them, they immediately increased the rates and put us on a different plan than we had actually signed up for. When I realised this last year and changed our plan, they then put us through a new due dilligence process requiring all of our Board members to appear in person at their office or pay to have registered id checks, even something the dutch authorities at the business register do not require all because they said we were basically a new client since we were getting a "new contract". We were assured it was a one time thing because of the "new contract". So we did it at great cost for out non-for-profit organisation. Then less than one year later, they asked for the same thing again and said it will be annual. When we tried to end the contract due to lack of communication of conditions, it is not possible. Although we have now changed our registration and mailing address to another provider (at a fraction of the cost btw with normal due diligence requirements), they will not terminate the contract and they refuse service bc of non-compliance. So we are now held hostage in a contract with a company that does not render service. Has been all around a bad experience with Regus.
The only redeeming thing is that the centre that actually handled our mail was very good and responsive. They were the same staff from before it was owned by Regus, so nothing owed to Regus there.
Update 1: I received a reply from Regus after my post and wrote to the email indicated and did not receive a response. Update 2 (5 Nov 2025): Now there is a response below that does not address my complaint of not being released from our agreement and claims falsely that they are required by law to have those procedure. And it is not the law and now we have a new provider that provides service at a fraction of the cost and we do not have the same excessive requirements. Other complaints such as adding services to our plan without authorisation were also not addressed. Absolutely zero influence on my impression of this company. Just more of the same.
