Do NOT work with Regus

2nd Update:

I will be disputing the charge with my bank.

Regus has offered to refund the disputed office-change fee only if I remove my negative review. However, they are still holding me to the remaining months of the office rental contract.

At this point, I think people should proceed with extreme caution before choosing Regus, especially if they are new to coworking memberships or private office agreements. My experience has been that the terms, fees, and available options were not made clear upfront, and once the contract was signed, there was very little willingness to make a reasonable accommodation.

Update in response to their reply:
Yes, my original membership was cancelled because I signed up for it after touring and only then finding out it was even an option so I purchased on my own but was then told I could not just have a membership I had to enter the long term office rental I had been sold on the tour. Thank you for the definition of the office change fee, again, that sounds reasonable if I had done more than walk in and immediately back out of that room. I did not move a single item in or occupy that room for more than 10 minutes and you are telling me you had to reset, deep clean, prepare for someone to use that room again?

Original review:
Unfortunately my experience with Regus thus far has been disappointing. Upon touring, the space was nice and clean, which I really appreciated. However, I was only offered a monthly membership option for a private office. When I went online to pay my bill, I found a day-rate availability. At that time, even before moving in or anything, I was told I had no other option because I had already signed a contract for a monthly private office again. I had literally signed the contract five minutes prior and had not received any keys, any logins, or anything.

Upon moving in, I entered the office that I chose after Rebecca was kind enough to show me several offices. The one I chose, I walked in and realized it wasn't going to be the right choice. I immediately, within ten minutes, walked out and exchanged keys for a new office. I had not moved anything, touched anything, and was not told that there would be an office-change fee of $500. However, I just received a monthly bill with an extra $500 charge. After disputing this with the office, I was told there is no one I can contact, no one above the local admin. I feel very misled, which is very unfortunate. We have few spaces in the Spokane area, and I was hoping this would be a great one, but they are definitely corporate and will do whatever they need to do to get the most money out of you.

Hi Jennifer,
We’re sorry to hear that your experience has been disappointing and appreciate you sharing your concerns.
Upon review, we can confirm that your original Office Membership agreement has been fully cancelled. We also note that you have since entered into a long-term office agreement, and an internal office move was completed from your original office to another office.
The Office Restoration Service Fee relates to the internal office move, as the centre team is required to prepare the new office, update the necessary records and access details, and restore the previous office for future use. That said, we sincerely apologise if this fee was not clearly explained to you before the move was processed.
A member of our team has emailed you directly to assist further. Please respond to the email so we can continue reviewing this with you. You can also contact us through the Help section after logging in to myregus.com, or chat with our AI assistant, Aurora, who can guide you to the right support channel.
Best,
Lorraine Brule
