It's really shocking and disgusting!

It's really shocking and disgusting!

Last year I started investing with Relai.

At the beginning, I didn't need to upload any documents. Also, I wasn't worried about documents as I have a Swiss residency C permit, which has been enough for me to open accounts before with UBS, DEGIRO, and Interactive Brokers.

But yesterday, when I tried to verify my identity with my passport to have more features, my account was suddenly blocked. They didn't even ask for my residency permit or any other proof.

The “support” team just told me that my nationality isn't supported and that they can block people without giving any reason.

So, even though I have been living in Switzerland for 7 years, and my Swiss permit was enough to open accounts with UBS and other companies, it didn't matter to Relai because of my Russian passport.

This is twice as weird after reading their claim that one does not need providing documents to start investing.

Honestly, ever since the war began, my passport has led to many tough moments. But usually, people are really kind and supportive about it.

This situation, though, makes me feel as if I’ve personally done something terribly wrong and have been punished and discriminated for that.

Simply disgusting!

I want to sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and confusion caused by our current policy, which unfortunately does not accept Swiss permits for verification.

Please know that your feedback is incredibly valuable to us, and we are actively reviewing our verification procedures to ensure that they are fair and inclusive for all users. While we currently only accept EU passports and IDs for verification, we are constantly working to expand our capabilities and accommodate a wider range of documents.

We truly appreciate your understanding and patience as we strive to improve our services and provide a better experience for all our users.
