Ethic and Unprofessional
After making an offer to rent a flat, the estate agency ask Rent4sure to do our references. We filled the form and upload the documents needed right away. My partner received an email saying they can’t find on bank statement the income! So he had to do their job and highlight all income in each statements. He followed up with a phone call and he was told everything was fine. They came back and ask for statements and payslips that were already uploaded twice!!’ My partner is working for different companies. Apparently it is too difficult for Rent4sure to looked at all the payslips and statements… HR of 2 of the companies were on holiday so didn’t respond to the references and my partner failed his references because of that. When he called he was told by a rude lady that HR have to check their email when on holiday!!! I bet she doesn’t check her email during her holiday… very stressful and difficult experience
Rent4sure failed us while 3 weeks earlier another reference company pass us!

When an agent asks us to carry out a reference on their behalf, they rely on us to provide them with evidence about whether potential tenants are genuine and have the means to pay their rent on time. This allows them to make an informed decision based on the facts. We are therefore required to obtain enough factual information to ensure the check is thorough, detailed and accurate.
We always aim to make the referencing process as smooth and easy as possible for all concerned, and last year 96% of our full references were completed and returned within 48 hours.
There are occasions, however, when the information provided is not straightforward and further enquiries and checks need to be made. When this happens, we understand and appreciate that this can be difficult for applicants and make sure to keep everyone informed.
Throughout the process we ensured that your agent was kept up to date regarding the individual circumstances, so they had full knowledge of what the issues were and how we were dealing with them.
We’re pleased that the agent and landlord chose to proceed based on the information we were able to provide them with and would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your partner all the best with your new tenancy.

Contacted my employer WITHOUT authorisation
Rent4Sure contacted my employer for a reference WITHOUT my authorisation. Why send an authority form requiring a signature prior to contacting my employer for a reference, which also needs to be scanned and uploaded to them before my employer can be contacted. Why bother sending that authority form in the first place if they're going to do it WITHOUT my authorisation anyways. So stupid. I'm outraged by this.

Consistently efficient
Occasionally our prospect tenants have complicated finances and Rent4sure have always been available on the phone for advice. So many firms through Covid reduced their work force making it very hard to talk to anyone, Rent4sure service has been consistently efficient.

When an agent asks us to carry out a reference on their behalf, we are required to obtain enough information to ensure the check is thorough, detailed and accurate and provides protection against fraud. This allows the agent and landlord to make an informed decision based on the facts.
While we will never take more information than is necessary to verify the facts, we do rely on the applicant to provide all the relevant details and documents at the initial application stage to avoid delays.
Our specialist teams answer calls and emails as promptly as possible and will always give guidance and support where it’s needed. Any outstanding issues will be dealt with so that the referencing process is not held up.

Too much unnecessary information required
This company is one of the worse that I've ever dealt with. They ask for a lot of information that is not totally necessary. Once you have supplied your details they come back at you for more. It can make you nervous, due to all the information you've handed over. I'm not sure what system they have that deems it necessary to know your whole credit history and more, but it's extremely intrusive & unnecessary.
