Wife wanted a livingroom set which…

Wife wanted a livingroom set which retails for 2300 at the most places I looked. When we bought it, it was unassembled still in the boxes. Fast forward 80 some weeks I was late, came knocked on my door threaten to call the cops for Theft, after I told them I'm keeping the set at the time I had paid over 5000 for. I told them they were trespassing to leave which the refused. Will never buy from them again. I never seen my agreement, manager doesn't know who filled it out. Avoid Rentacenter at all costs. I am currently filing a law suit. Which is cheaper than my livingroom set.

Unprofessional I'm human

I've been with rent a center for at least 9 years with the same manager on Utica Ave just this pass few months he left. The new manager was very disrespectful she sent one of the guys to my home with a letter threatening me about having Me arrested and that rent a center pressed charges on me . I was down to my last payment I always buy out . I called the store because the note she posted was in my lobby she was very nasty with her response she said sarcastically If I was embarrassed and that she intentionally put it so everyone can see it . That should not have happened to me there is always a professional way to do things . Granted that I missed one payment .

THEY DESERVE ZERO STARS

THEY DESERVE ZERO STARS. The store manager Jacob Lewis called me yesterday on 5/5 to tell me my bill was 2 weeks overdue when it was only a week overdue being I pay monthly. However, they would have been paid by 5/10. He did not like that answer and became rude “I can't wait that long” with an attitude. Well today my card was charged when it was NOT authorized. When I called, I was told I was on auto pay. Please tell me how I was on auto pay today but yet he called me yesterday because it was overdue which means yesterday, I was NOT on auto pay, and I never logged in my account except for the last payment I made last month. So, they illegally charged my card without my authorization and put me on auto pay manually from their end. DO NOT GET MERCHANDISE FROM THEM. Thank the gods I'm a few payments away from pay off so I won’t have to deal with these people anymore.

I don't like rent a center

I don't like rent a center
When you try change password you don't get a reset very well when trying to change it they are very rude and not only their intrusive trying reset it and try get you but things
Very annoying
Very harassing you need to pay your bill and then my door to my dishwasher was broken let me get another one and had to have me pay off which is a complete rip off and they won't let make payments arrangement can't pay it
Don't ever rent from them they are rip off
I like Aaron's better

Stay Away - Rent a Center Harassment

My Mother passed away, and I just had her services three days ago, and the manager at Rent-a-Center kept harassing me about making a payment or picking up furniture and that I had not returned calls. I dealt with my other creditors who gave me time to respond, made arrangements to talk, and were patient with getting to them. Continued to harass me that I had not called her back. They even came up with payment options. This lady Tiffany at Rent-a-Center told me that when her mother passed she still had to pay her bills and she harassed me about time dates and times over the past week that I had not called back. Continued to text me before during and after my mother's services, "unfortunately you have not made your payment." Really?!!! Who does this? Please get her customer service training to address these types of issues appropriately. I asked to communicate with District Manager, she said there is no one except her to deal with as a franchise owner. Rent a Center Corporate, please help!

Do not do business with these incompetent lazy employees

We have been customers for 13 months. We've spent about 11000 dollars. Since we became customers we have gone through several managers. The first 2 were totally inept. The 3rd one seemed very competent however on 3 occasions we've made payments that have vanished. According to them. The first two were credited to us because they erred. The third one is in dispute and they have inconvenienced me. The amount in question is 250 dollars. In addition we paid for a TV for 5 months that we'd returned. We've always been polite. However today they simply lied to us. The regional manager who's name is Eric has not called me. I've asked Jason the only employee at the store to send him messages and he simply ignores them. I would not use rent a center. We've never used them before and will never again. They are incompetent liars and there is so much turnover that noone seems to know anything. They also treat paying customers like garbage. Again. We are the ones that have been inconvenienced. Not them. We work hard for our money and being treated like this is ridiculous. One payment I made over the phone to Jason the next day the manager called me and asked if it had gone thru on my end. I laughed because it had the moment he charged it and he said it had.

Danbury Rent a center is the worst

Danbury Rent a center is the worst. All employees are not properly trained. show up with no tools..have no management support and as a customer I feel bad for them. You get multiple contracts.. Lies about fixing damage on the floor..Someone needs to get it together. I have used them for over 10 years.. Its an all new low.

Amazing experience

The service at the Washington Missouri rent a center was phenomenal and I would highly recommend them to anybody. I see a lot of reviews on bad experiences at a rent a center but I’ve never had such a helpful staff and they just made my experience a great one thank you. And a big thanks to josh the branch manager he was outstanding and so nice keep it up fellas. Adam Sohn customer

If I could give less than one star I…

If I could give less than one star I would took money off my disabled husband's debit card approved him until they got his I'd guess they don't deal with black people. Then refused to accept his bank information for proof of direct deposit ironic they took his money haven't given back without knowing him yet after the id no no you can't have anything!! So obvious turning them in to BBB today

Unfair agreement

Not a technical person what I thought with myself rented sth thinking everything look good why not. now after paying few months I realized the real price of item is like less than half of early purchase option. It is a big rip off truly unbelievable it is like paying crazy APR on items you rent. Renting routine daily basis items shouldn't be that expensive. I never recommend this service excrpt for one month staging a house or event...

They lied, period no other way to put it

So it was said the couch I am trying to return was covered in dog hair, cobwebs and roaches which were lies. I have photos and videos proving this fact and yet I am being strong armed into keeping it and being forced to pay for something I am trying to return and I am being threatened with court or jail time if I do not continue to pay for it even though I have proof of what the couch actually looks like and proof of what the "dog hair and cobwebs" really was. Also I have searched and searched and even put a camera in the bottom of the couch and have yet to see a single roach. in fact I have haven't seen a single roach in my house! I am terrified to the point of having a phobia of roaches. But either way I am not trying to illegal keep the couch from them at all. in fact I even offered to bring it back to them myself.

If I could give them 0 stars I would. I like rent a center the company allows people basically an opportunity to have things they would normally have to pay for in cash how ever since 2020 when I first started my first agreement at 71st an Jeffery the entire staff minus delivery guys have been horrible experience. I called today to understand why my due date was offset by 4 weeks when i started it was 10 to start mind you I paid off my first agreement with them and they tacked on an extra $100 I said then I would never work with this store again. So by the time I got my items I was 4 weeks later and it was time to pay again which made no sense since I was under the impression it took so long because they had to order the furniture and when I called a week prior to receiving my items to find out why its taking so long they told me I would have to order it which is and other 3wks and up to 2 months or they said you can get the used items. I was thirsty so I said sure do I get a discount on the items they said yea yea real fast and placed the order and told me it would be able to be delivered in a week so yes 4 freaking weeks later the bill is due as if I even had something that last 3 weeks. My first order took 2 days to place order and get delivered so this was retaliation from before because I don't play that period. My due dates do not align with my pay dates and I stated that $6 fee extra every month no one will explain nor have they taken off or asked if I wanted it they are extremely unprofessional and should be evaluated for sure the way they answer the phones to the misleading statements ATTENTION PLEASE CLEAN HOUSE. I called back after manager screamed at me and assistant manager hung up on me to obtain the Managers name. He asked my name and I told him he deliberately said the manager will call you back Miss Jackson (as if I'm sorry Miss Jackson in the Song) Rude unprofessional unacceptable and I demand for my account to be moved to another store and they be looked into. I can't imagine how many hopeless people this store has mislead for sales and to be able to stay open. I called corporate in hopes of a solution in 24-48 hours but this issue is far from dead and the harassing if you are even 1 day late everyday until you pay is absurd and shows poor and unethical business practices.

Well i been employee at the store were…

Well i been employee at the store were Mr.Kevin,Ms.Crystal been there with me, and we been an awesome term. Then after we had left it went down because it went under Kim that don't know anything about running a store! I miss the team but it's one problem that I'm having with them and that's they still holding me and my wife merchandise after we have lost our things in a major fire. So now I went the extra mile by email the BOARD OF DIRECTOR MR.FADEL!Hopefully we can got some answer

Suckiest customer service and definently not an equal opportunity place because I'm self employed I cant be approved but I file taxes every year and they still wouldnt with my tax document this is a crappy place rent a center more like rent a shitter
