TERRIBLE customer service!

If I could give a less than 1 star review I would. I signed a contract on Tuesday for a sofa with the store in Chalmette, Louisiana. The next day I called to find out about delivery. The manager told me the next available day was Friday and because I work M-F I asked if Saturday was available she said yes and scheduled the delivery between 1-6pm. Today is Saturday and after hearing nothing by 5:15pm I called the store and spoke with Davonte. He said that the delivery was attempted on Friday and the drivers called and left a door tag. Nobody called on Friday and no door tag was left. He proceeded to call me a liar. Well no calls were made as I never received a call from my area code, no message was left. I also have a Ring door bell which shows no delivery driver attempted or even came to my hour or door for that matter. I told Davonte I wanted to cancel the contract for obvious reasons so he hung up. I then called customer service who also hung up on me when I said I wanted to cancel my contract. DO NOT sign a contract with this company.

Do not rent from rent a center in…

Do not rent from rent a center in Columbus Ohio. A family member was late on their payment and they refused to rent to me. The Wilson rd store is absolutely horrible. The manager is an incompetent hag.Their furniture is trash. It falls apart after a week. Worst experience ever.

Theives!

After reading the other reviews, I feel like the company is horrible! This is From Austin Texas. I am resulting here in, Hopes that the message get through to someone who cares. But anyway I went in to purchase some furniture from Rent A center. And every since then been a disaster! I went in with the option to buy but since I didn’t buy the furniture they put me on a regular rental plan. No one ever explained to me that if I use a one time debit card to make a purchase then that would automatically be put on file to run every time they need a payment! I mean I never authorized them to constantly take the money off my card! Thats dead Wrong! Without my consent they just keep taking it off! That card was a one time use! I called corporate and they left me on the back burner. Said they would address it, I actually called a few times to complain. They gave me a number and advised that I wait! Still nothing. So Rent A Center took the money again. I was going pay them anyway. But you don’t just take no one money! And that what they do! Corporate is not any better! I guess I see where they get it from! Not Cool#

Paid my bill got behind also paid that so called insurance if you happen to get behind ..I was refused 1week to pay my bill ....no more recommendations from me I rented from Renta Center in the 90s always thought they were good company to work with there customers ...but nope ...no star rating for me but it was not a option ...

Rent a Center in Toms River

Rent a Center in Toms River, NJ has the most incompetent manager. The customer service is the worst. They slung water all over my floors when they picked up washer. It was a HUGE mess. They arrived 4 hours late and they continue to take money from my account without my permission. Avoid this store at ALL costs.

First they almost had me getting what I didn't want then they screwed up on my payments which were on a Monday but they called me on a Saturday and told me I had to pay them that day n not on my regular payday I told them about for which they told me they will get their items if not paid. They couldn't wait two extra days thats some BS!

Non-flexible

Ok, so make payments on time if not early, and this one time after being ill and missing work need to be 5 days late. Call the store to let them know and everything was arranged. Then received a call from the store saying I didn't have insurance coverage for the furniture which I provided when getting the furniture and told them so. Then told that if had purchased theirs which would be an approximate $360 extra that I could have a grace period but since I did not they would come pick up the furniture.

The run around

Rent a center has been giving me the run around for 2 weeks. I've made 2 going into 3 payments as of Saturday and I still have yet to receive what I ordered .My initial drop off date was 10/07/21 they couldn't contact my employer,Then it was to arrive today 10/12/21 between 1-3 no show come to find out I'm not on schedule at all so now the say the earliest they can get it to me is 10/14/21 ...your customer service sucks

Rent-A-Center is the worst company to…

Rent-A-Center is the worst company to buy merchandise from. After being a loyal customer for years they treat you like you never make payments. I owed one last payment, and they beat on my door like the police after I had already told them when I will be making my last payment. I will never buy anything else from them.

The store in Southaven MS is horrible

The store in Southaven MS is horrible. God forbid you have a crisis during a pandemic and get covid. They do not care and will treat you like garbage. They got their payment via my grocery money because they refused to budge and sent someone after a few days. Even after someone said they could help. Safe to say I will be paying them off as soon as possible and letting as many people know as possible how they treat customers during a GLOBAL PANDEMIC.

Would be a zero if could

Would be a zero if could. Went back on what deal was. Dresser didn't come with hard ware was give a couple options. Choose to keep an not paybrent till hardware arrived. One week later scents text about payment call the store an they say that wasn't deal. Told them to come get dresser. Came an got the whole bedroom set.

Rent-A-Center Marion

I was extremely pleased with the facility at Marion Indiana. My plans were delivered quickly with very polite efficient delivers. Chris the manager's location was very polite and quick and professional. A GREAT EXPERIENCE!!!!!

Barberton Ohio

I have been in the hospital with covid for almost 2 weeks. Was on a ventilator and my phone was off. I live alone so nobody to make payments for me. I have another few days to go but before I went in, I was pretty sick at home and they descended on my house like a militia. Beating on doors and windows....wiggling doorknobs....looking in my windows...destruction of outside plants...yelling in my windows...belching into my security camera. All recorded on security video and audio. Harassment. I had to call the police. This is stuff people get the cops called on them for. The police were irritated and got them to leave. One even sat outside to make sure they didnt come back. I had 44 messages when I turned my phone back on. There is no need to conduct business like that. I've been a steady paying customer for over a year and they have been rude and obnoxious ever since I've been sick an unable to pay them. I have nobody to let them in my house and conduct my business for me. They could care less. I wont ever even purchase so much as a stick of gum from them again. You would think they would put the account on hold until I get back out instead of "we can come get our stuff and hold it here then being it back when you're home." It's a refrigerator. So let all my stuff rot?I also mentioned the protection plan they slip onto your agreement should you become unemployed and the manager stuttered around and said "Oh that takes 90 days for that to happen after the paperwork is turned in." And how convenient that the paperwork got lost in the mail when I got it filled out.🤔 AND when they mailed it to me to get it filled out. I'm too sick to deal with it right now. And so that means I'm still responsible for making payments even though the fine print says I'm not.
Avoid them. Now I'm gonna go home and feel like a prisoner because I'm afraid they'll pull up. Right now my focus is on surviving. What bullies.

Authority does not mean POWER! Worst Company ,worst experience Company to deal with the woman that says she is the store manager is like the worst person to deal with ! She is very RUDE ! I told her I just had a surgery and she kept me on phone lecturing me like a child! The other manager is very compassionate! This woman is a true violation of all Human Rights!

If I could give this company 0 stars I would! I had surgery on 7/29/21 and needed to rent a power lift recliner for two weeks post surgery. I was scheduled to be released from the hospital on 7/39/21. I paid up front for it. I ended up having complications from surgery so I was not released from the hospital and I had ny daughter call to cancel my order. I was never refunded. The following week I called to get my refund and I was told they had to speak to the store manager and they would call me back. That didn’t happen and I called again. They said they would put through the credit again but still never received a refund. Finally I called a third time and they told me they would give me the refund in cash but I had to go into the store to get it. I sent a friend to go pick up the refund for me on 7/28/21. The next day I received another charge that was deducted from my checking account along with an email and statement saying this was the second payment due in a rent to buy option. I never signed up for a rent to buy option. I called the store in Poughkeepsie, NY again on 8/20/21 and I was told I would get a refund within 3-5 days. I didn’t believe them and I called the corporate office who gave me a refund request number and sad I would receive a refund by the end of the day on 8/20/21. I did not receive the refund. I called corporate back 3 times yesterday and was on hold for 1/2 hour each time waiting for a representative. I never got to speak to anyone. Each time I stayed on hold, I was cut off after 1/2 hour of holding. There is even an option that says if you want us to call you back you will not lose your place in line, press 1! Haha! That didn’t work either. Today I called again and the same thing happened. I was cut off after holding for a 1/2 hour. I’m a senior citizen living on a fixed income and I don’t have disposable income so taking unauthorized money from my checking really hurt my finances. This is by far the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with. Next I will contact the consumer protection agency and the better business bureau!

Douglasville Georgia rent a center is absolutely the worst thing ever!!! I have paid almost $2,000 for a washing machine. I’ve been threaten that they would file theft when I was late (due to covid). I made a payment of $69 on august 13 with a balance of just $5 payoff (managers words) and they took another 42.50 out of my checking account. It took me 3 weeks of calling to get someone to even tell me what the payoff amount was and the manager was SO rude and threatened me every other sentence. Don’t do it!!! Just don’t give these people especially at this location your $$$!!!!

I’m renting from rent a center and I also applied for a job at the store in my location. Well I make payments every other week well the week before last I made a payment and my payment shouldn’t be until this week I got an email stating that I needed to make a payment Saturday mind you I’ve never missed a payment anyways I called and asked why I needed to make double payments they informed me that I was behind and I told them I wasn’t so I canceled auto pay and didn’t make a payment. Well I was supposed to get a call today for the job and I saw they posted it on Facebook they are hiring for the position I applied for needless to say they are a crap place to rent from and I advise everyone to not rent from them

I always rented from rent a center…

I always rented from rent a center never had any issues but I always paid online and they knew it on grant ave auburn ny rent a center and they continue harassed me and be unprofessional and rude when I talked to them about my online account and not only that they didn’t even had my legal name they made it where I couldn’t change it I would not recommend them at all very unprofessional rude disgusting people and when they delivered the merchandise they didn’t even wear a mask when this happened durning Covid outbreak.
