Best way to find a home in the Netherlands.

Works as expected BUT links are very slow to open.

First choice of everything newly on the market.
Every apartment I was interested in through rent slam allowed me to view as I was one of the first to contact them.

The fact that you are sending the emails based on my research + directly from the agency website, is helpful.

It took a while to find a place, but that's mostly due to the current housing situation in the Netherlands. Having said that, RentSlam has been a very useful tool, sending many listings your way as soon as they appear online.

If only the realtors themselves weren't so seedy, with some requiring you to get a paid subscription with them, just so you can respond to a listing of theirs; meanwhile, success is never guaranteed since you KNOW that there are hundreds of people looking for a place.

But, that says more about the shameless nature of the industry, than it does about RentSlam, so if you are looking for a place to live in the Netherlands, give RentSlam a go - it is definitely worth the money, rather than a 30 EUR p/month subscription with just the ONE realtor. Great. Honestly without this service we would not have got any housing viewings. In the Netherlands you need to be extremely quick to react to stand any chance and as soon as we started using this service we got basically 50% of all viewings we applied to, which is better than one can hope for!

Perfect experience

You will receive regular messages with potential options - express your interest (where relevant) straight away, by sending you details to an agent and follow up with a call to an agent (more or less at the same time), just clarify everything and confirm your allocation for the property viewing.

Being amongst the first on a mailing list in the housing market can bring you way more viewings than before. That's why rentslam is great

I used RentSlam to find an apartment in Amsterdam, and from signing up to signing a housing contract was only about 2.5 weeks. The house search has been extremely stressful, but I think it went much faster than I was expecting and I believe that is in large part due to this service. I was able to focus on applying for houses and going to viewings, instead of anxiously checking Funda or refreshing the websites of all the many housing companies.

The only thing that could be better would be to filter out houses that I don't qualify for. For example, I was sometimes sent links to social housing for the elderly or for people with low income.

But it's a small critique. Overall, I would definitely recommend using RentSlam.
