Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were somewhat happy with their experience overall. Many consumers find the technology offered to be very useful, highlighting its ability to simplify complex development tasks and accelerate the creation of applications. People appreciate the ease of getting started and the platform's effectiveness for prototyping and learning. Many users also find the AI features helpful for overcoming coding challenges and streamlining their workflow. However, some people were dissatisfied with the user experience and the app itself. Some customers reported issues with apps disappearing, difficulties with publishing, and problems with exporting projects. A few other people also felt that the AI, while generally helpful, could sometimes create errors that were costly to fix, or that the platform struggled with building aesthetically pleasing user interfaces.

It's established, but the cost of building the app and maintaining it on Replit has risen. There is also not a convenient way to talk to someone for support questions as it is all managed by AI.

Replits Self-Licking Ice Cream Cone

The concept and ability of vibe coding is of course a true blessing. However, as applied when trying build an app the AI assistant continually makes the same errors over and over again, causing the customer to spend the monthly allocation of credits almost immediately. (basically turning the AI assistant into a self-licking ice cream cone. It builds errors into the code and the customer must pay for corrections)
I would like to see Replit relook at how credits are used. If the customer asks for a specific change or upgrade then request should be funded accordingly. However, if that change wasnt correct or completed as requested, then any further efforts to correct should that change, shouldnt be charged to the customer.
Only charges the customer should be levied should be from initial request and scope creep.

Lost over $400

Initally my experience with replit was good however, after moving to a teams plan from a core individual plan there was a glitch with my account where over $400 of credits were wiped.

I contacted replit and provided proof any they said I was incorrect. Ive spent the best part of 3 weeks trying to fix it and have provided hard proof from their own system showing the loss of credits and incorrect billing from their system. They havnt provided any proof to dispute me other than telling me whats included in a plan I already know.

Ive tried to reach out to the owner and the support 6 times to fix this but ultimately I feel like ive been robbed by them. They seem determined to ignore the glitch and just admit it. Its fine these things happen but they just wont own up to it or put it right.

At this stage give the time invested and the loss of credits im contemplating initiating a chargeback using their own invoices as proof that its already been paid and I dont seem to get a reasonable response aftwr desperately trying.

The reality is its a good system inside there was an issue i just wish they helped fix rather than ignore. You will spend but there is value in the spend in my opinion.

This would be 5* if they would just help fix the issue

I’ve built multiple apps, websites and professional dashboards

I’ve built multiple apps and websites using Replit. The speed, integrated workflow, and especially the continuous improvement of both the code and the platform are impressive — development genuinely feels faster every week.

I create dashboard design mock-ups in minutes, not days. In my professional world, transparency and clear data visualization are critical for fast, confident decision-making.

It is very expensive

It is very expensive, and credits are used up quickly. Additional charges apply if you use more credits than your allowed limit.

I have had 2 experiences with Replit

I have had 2 experiences with Replit. My first one was excellent! Definitely a 5/5 experience as I was able to build my own service based web app from scratch. Then on the second experience I was very frustrated as a new app I had attempted to build suddenly disappeared. I had to wait for a week and a half before a human responded to my enquiry and let me know that the app had been somehow linked to a gmail account that I did not link it to. They resolved the issue and I’m very happy with the overall use of Replit. But PLEASE hire more workers for customer support.

Contrary to instructions AI published my website

AI published my website after asking me if replit could do that. I declined, but their chat bot says I approved it. I took a screenshot of my declining publishing. However, no one responds to requests for help. Instead they collected hundreds of dollars for my work in progress and I don’t have access anymore. Once, several hours of work actually disappeared the next day. At that point, I stopped developing during 2025 Nov/Dec holidays. Came back today to find my site live despite earlier explaining it was not quite ready.
Even what they published is gone! Along with work in progress. Also, replit created four websites without my asking it to do so. Probably in a year all will automatically renew…

My experience with Replit has been…

My experience with Replit has been disappointing. I exhausted my entire credit balance within a single day, yet the AI failed to produce functional or accurate code for my project. The high consumption of resources does not seem to align with the quality of the output provided.

Disingenuous pricing model

Disingenuous pricing model - do not use.

There was no prominent in-product warning, hard stop, or proactive notification to indicate I was moving into paid usage, nor any visibility of a running total - I was shocked to rack up a bill unintentionally as I was completely unaware I'd exceeded my limit. For a usage-based product, this is an extremely poor customer experience and lacks transparency.

When asking for a refund due to the lack of transparency, they continuously pointed to their terms of service where it effectively says no refunds.

I'm convinced I then cancelled my subscription due to the poor customer experience, although they made that incredibly difficult to do too. However, to my surprise I've been billed for another month's credits which I have no intention of using. I asked for a refund as I have no interest in using their product again, and made every effort to cancel my subscription the month prior, but again was told no and pointed to their terms of service.

Better sticking to Lovable from my experience - much better development and much more transparent pricing.

Repplit does all rubbish implementation like similar AIs

Repplit DOES ALL THE RUBBISH IMPLEMENTATIONS, SIMILAR TO "FIGMA MAKE" AND OTHER SIMILARS:
WHAT IS THIS? CREATING ENDLESS INCOMPLETE AND NOT WORKING FEATURES TO URGE YOU INVEST YOUR MONEY INTO CREDITS - WITH THE HOPE IT MAY AT SOME POINT WORK, AND WHEN YOU HAD ENOUGH AND GOT COMPLETELY EXHAUSTED AND WASTED TONS OF HOURS TRYING,
YOU THEN JUST LEFT WITH UNUSED - NON REFUNDED CREDITS -
FOR ME WAS 36.13 DOLLARS NOT UTILISED, AND REST 63.87/100 SENT TO A RUBBISH ENDLESS AND INCOMPLETE PROBLEMATIC - NON-IMPLEMENTATION."

badd

Replit is honestly one of the most frustrating platforms I’ve ever used. It feels slow and clunky even for small projects, and once you try to build anything serious the environment completely falls apart. The deployment process is messy, customization is almost nonexistent, and the whole system feels more like a toy than a professional tool. Bugs and downtime are far too common, and customer support is inconsistent at best. It might be fine for beginners writing a few lines of code, but for anyone who actually wants to develop real applications, Replit is a waste of time and energy

When you complain they ban your account.

⭐️ 1 star

⭐️ 1 star – Wasted credits, nothing ever worked

I had a very frustrating experience with Replit. The app kept encouraging me to try again, saying things like “this time it will work,” but it never did. Each attempt consumed more credits, and in the end all my credits were gone with absolutely no usable result.

The application never functioned as promised. No working output, no real explanation, just repeated credit consumption. It feels like the system is designed to drain credits without delivering anything meaningful.

For the price and the expectations they set, this is extremely disappointing. I would not recommend Replit unless they seriously improve reliability and stop charging users when the product doesn’t work.
