Stress-free
Having building works is stressful. Its time consuming, It's expensive and often confusing. When I researched Resi, I had read good things but I have to say my experience far surpassed anything that I had read. The process was efficient, clear and reasonably priced. The dashboard gave clear indications of timescales and if I had questions, the staff were on hand to quell any concerns that I had, not that there were many. I like to personally thank Laura Perkins for guiding me through the process and heping me understand the steps. I would happily use Resi again.

Good service but slow start and expensive estimates
Good service - we like the designer and the process has been clear throughout. Feedback has been actioned in a timely manner and we’re pleased with the final result. However it took a very long time to get our first appointment in the diary (the first available slot was 3+ weeks away!!) and this has delayed submission of our planning application. We are also surprised at the estimated cost based on the plans as we’ve gone with a fairly standard extension. We will only be able to comment on the quality and cost-efficiency of the contractors in Resi’s network once we’ve gone out to builders.

Great to hear you enjoyed the main part of the process.
Noted about the time taken to book in your Concept Call. We do require at least 10 working days between the date of your measured survey and the call but we do hope to get you booked in ASAP.
The guidance on build costs is based on previous projects similar to yours so should be fairly accurate. Build costs are elevated at the moment due to the cost of raw materials, labour costs, etc. which is reflected in the guidance that is put forward. Once you speak to builders, you will be able to get better, real time guidance on the possible fees for the build.

Unreliable and unprofessional
Resi applied on my behalf for a single store extension with a Juliet balcony.
Balcony was first denied and resi suggested to submit balcony application later in the process, while building the extension.
Upon extension completion we received green light form council.
Unfortunately the roof was already built and sealed, and no balustrade company was willing to drill thru the roof to build the balcony in case of water leaking in future.
Once pointed out the problem Resi blamed myself and contractor about the issue.
I went back to resi and said I paid several thousand pounds for their expertise, and they should have told me prior completing the extension the roof needed to be built together with balcony.
I am now in a situation where the cost of the balcony skyrocketed as it had to be drill into side wall on a special platform: costing 5 times more what I was quoted originally.
I am not architect and I did rely on Resi to tell me what to do.
Once I raised complaint with Resi, I was quickly dismissed and told it was my fault .
I strongly recommend to avoid this company for 2 reason: very expensive a not accountable for their mistakes.

First of all, I am sorry to hear you’ve had a frustrating experience - this is not what we hope our customers feel after they have worked with our team, and so we’re disappointed this is the case.
Having reviewed all of the information available to me, I do not feel that Resi is responsible for the unforeseen costs incurred with the balustrading design, as you reference in your review.
The balustrade was part of a second phase of work due to planning uncertainty, but the possibility of a balustrade here had always formed part of the core design for your project. We feel strongly that this should have been made clear to your external contractor when you started to undergo work on site. Your contractor could have installed the correct fixings for future balustrading to be added, the cost of which would have been covered in their initial contract sum.
The balustrading was shown correctly in our building regulations drawings and our building regulations team have reviewed and are happy with how this was shown. We remain emphatic that it was the responsibility of your contractor to ensure the necessary preparatory and supporting work was in place to allow the balustrade to be fitted, the cost of this would have been in addition to the cost of the balustrading and would have been more comparable to the cost that you are being quoted now for the self-supporting frame.
Our Building Regulations team have gone over and above the normal scope of our responsibility to find a supplier who can deliver this balustrade without drilling into the flat roof - and we do not believe the cost they are quoting for a self-stabilising balustrade is unreasonable.
Once again, I am sorry you are both frustrated by these unplanned costs, but we do not believe that Resi has failed in our responsibilities and commitment to you, but nonetheless we apologise for your disappointing comments and feedback.
An excellent process from start to finish!
We had a wonderful experience designing our first renovation project with Resi. They were knowledgable, patient and very efficient. In particular, our architect Bene was fantastic! She made the process seamless and we look forward to seeing our project come to life over the next year. Thank you very much for your help, Bene!

I contacted RESI for an initial consultation to find out about a potential extension, get an idea of costs etc. My experience with Jacob was top notch. From the designs and mock-ups he presented and clarification about the whole process. I felt that i was dealing with professionals and that they had done their research (in terms of advising what is / is not possible etc). I did not go ahead with planned works at this time purely because I had not anticipated the costs of the project and it's out of reach with my budget but I from a service perspective I thought RESI were great

Hello Sara, we're incredibly sorry that you didn't like our television advert.
The ad shows off our design configurator, where customers who know what they want can design their own home extension. This is listed on our website, alongside our more traditional route of having an extension designed for you by one of our experts.
On review however, we do concede that James' yellow knitted vest is drawing the eye perhaps a little bit too much in the shots where it is shown – he's now been instructed never to wear this again. Harry, James' purplish dance partner, also asked to pass on his personal apologies. He's a hard worker and spent many hours on a cold February morning trying to pull off the best dance moves he could to delight viewers who'd watch the ad and it certainly wasn't his intention to cause upset and poor Trustpilot reviews. He's promised to do better next time.

It's easy for rogue traders to get on this site. They can get away with an easy reference process and present work that is completed by other contractors. I can provide pictures, email evidence and demands for money for jobs that are not completed or just really badly done.
I wish I ignored the numerous cold calls and cold emails from RESI.

Resi Connect is an introductory service where we connect customers looking for builders, with vetted contractors in their local area.
When customers agree to open up builder searches, we outline in our terms and conditions all of the vetting and checks we do on the builders who receive work on our platform. We are extremely transparent about the checks we do, but are explicit that any further due diligence about a builder our customers contract with, must be carried out directly.
The builder you chose to bring on to your project has been with Resi a number of years, and had completed numerous Resi projects previously. We had references from both customer and trade, credit checks, and Companies House checks completed . You additionally visited in-person, one of their previous Resi build projects. We do not, and will never permit, rogue traders to take work via the Resi platform.
Since you flagged to us that work on site had not been of the requisite standard, we have been in constant communication with you to offer support and technical guidance. We have requested to see the independent report you state that you have commissioned which states the quality of the work so we can work with you find a new contractor, but we have yet to see this. The contractor has been paused on our platform until we can ascertain the evidence of poor work undertaken.
Additionally, we have been in communication with Building Control to understand their feedback about the project, and what the most suitable next steps are.
Resi is doing all it can to support you at this time, and we look forward to receiving more information and the independent report so we can continue to do so.

I can honestly say, this far, Nick and the team at Resi have been outstanding.

Great experience with Bene
Resi's service has been excellent so far - Bene is our architect and has been exceptionally clear and responsive in designing our renovation. The dashboard is excellent and helps in manage the process and documentation needed really well.

Loft Conversion - another key milestone reached
Excellent support from Resi getting my planning application through. They kept the momentum going and gave regular updates on what to expect, next steps etc.
Thanks to Em Craddock my assigned Account Manager for good advice on completing my project brief, appointing team members, building regulations etc. and to Resi Connect (Hafsa Meho) for support with tendering and selecting a contractor. There’s a lot to get your head around but Resi support made the experience really seamless.
