Exmoor has my heart

location was incredible. Staying in the middle of the national park is a once in a lifetime. I’ve never seen my dog so happy. We drove to a super dog-friendly beach, walked on the moors & drove to the coast for a hike with dramatic views of the coastline, called Heddon valley and the woody bay circular (45 min drive) found on all trails. All trails is great for the area and easy to use.

We ate in for a bbq every night, everything was in abundance from firewood to crockery. I also had the most amazing bath with a magical sunset that was indescribable.

I’ve got a new and fond appreciation for Devon (I think it blows Cotswolds out the water)- exmoor in particular is just SO beautiful.

Also the water pressure was amazing!!! Better than most hotels!

Little sanctuary

It’s rare to find something as nice in real
life as it is in the photos, and this was even better than I had hoped for.

The location is serene and quiet and the views are incredible. It was lovely to sit out in the day absorbing the views and equally lovely sitting out in the evening with fire pit. The outdoor bath was a real treat. Very pleased to have discovered Rest & Wild - thank you!!

A haven in North Yorkshire!

We had the *most incredible* short stay. As people who love to switch off, we’ve stayed in a couple of other cabins that foster a similar vibe and ethos to Rest+Wild, but was the best by a long shot.

The team have thought about the essentials and have gone the extra mile with all of the little details that make it so special.

The setting, the intricate details, the design! They’ve thought about it all. From the gold foil on the artisan made leather cards holder, the Wildsmith wash products, to the beautiful bed linen, and a kitchen full of beautifully made pots and top notch kitchenware, it’s just all wonderful.
We were blown away by the special touch and generosity of the hamper on arrival, filled with local goods.

We’ve already talked about coming back and are discussing who we could gift a couple of nights to amongst friends and family.
We’ll be recommending it to everyone!

I encourage you: go, unplug, switch off, relax and be refreshed. It’s wonderful!

My partner and I have just returned…

My partner and I have just returned from an amazing stay at the Sparrow, honestly it did not disappoint, every single detail of the cabin you can tell has carefully been thought of, the outdoor bath tub beneath the gorgeous trees, the birds singing and the beautiful view, I can not fault anything, we stayed at the Juniper in exmoor in December and that was absolutely stunning also, I really definitely be returning again! Thank you sooo much for a well rested digital detoxed break xx

An amazing location and a beautiful…

An amazing location and a beautiful cabin made for an unforgettable stay. Every need was thoughtfully catered to.

The setting was exactly what we wanted—secluded and tranquil, yet easily accessible. The cabin itself surpassed my expectations, crafted with exceptional quality and adorned with stunning interior decor.

Every detail contributed to a fantastic experience. The thoughtful touches, like the selection of books on the shelf above the bed, the branded leather wrap for playing cards, the elegant cutlery, branded plates, and luxurious bed linen, were delightful.

It's clear that a lot of time and attention to detail went into creating these cabins.

I couldn't have been happier and will definitely be returning!

Slow living at Rest and Wild Yorkshire Dales

We recently stayed at Rest and Wilds new Yorkshire Dales location and as with the other locations, our stay was lovely! The cabins are similar in style but have a pop of colour this time which I loved. The cabins had the same comfy beds, well stocked kitchen, bath and powerful shower. The outdoor space is great with a fire pit for cooking and to warm yourself in the evenings - the main event it the epic view! We appreciated the welcome guide and went on the local walk to the ruins, following the OS map was super easy and the walk was stunning. Highly recommend - R&W you nailed it again!

Relaxing stay for our little family

We were lucky enough to be the first people staying in The Elm - one of the Yorkshire Dales cabins. The interior is so lovely and cosy, and the cabin is in a great location with amazing views. We enjoyed toasting marshmallows on the campfire, relaxing in the outdoor bath and visited a few of the recommended places nearby such as Fountains Abbey. We took our dog and 4 month old baby with us. There was plenty of room for us all and the small crib we took with us. We look forward to staying again in the future.

Super chilled heavenly stay on Exmoor!

The cabin was very clean and beautifully furnished, the location was fantastic - very private- and all information sent to us was detailed and clear. A perfect 48 hrs to unwind in peace and quiet. The owners were in contact and available if we had any issues at any time via social media/ messenger services, but left us in peace to enjoy the fantastic accommodation without intrusions.

A Wonderful and Beautiful Break.

If you want to have a getaway that gives you wonderful views, in superb stylish comfort and in splendid isolation then the Rest and Wild cabins are for you. We stayed in their Nightingale cabin in Shropshire. We had very comfortable sleeps in an excellent bed and were woken up by a dawn chorus of birds and sheep to see spectacular views. The cabin’s facilities are excellent with instant hot water and a very useless twin gas hob. The ‘fridge is also useful having a small freezing shelf for ice cubes. The optional meal packs, full of locally sourced produce, are excellent value for money. When I needed to contact the R&W team they were superb always being very polite and helpful. One small thing, I’d have preferred a have a choice smaller mugs for coffee and bigger ones for tea. Highly recommended.

You literally switch off the moment you…

You literally switch off the moment you get there. Everything is so well thought through. From the logs to the rechargeable lantern and the fire pit. The bath salts and the blankets to cover yourself in the evening.
Amazing customer support, the team made us feel welcome from the first moment with really good comms prior to our arrival and quick responses during our stay. Easy instructions on self check in and recommendations on things to do.
We left the cabin feeling refreshed only to go back to a flat battery, but again the team were so accommodating and let us use the facilities until we were rescued.
Thank you for everything and we are definitely booking again!

A little bit of heaven

We had 2 nights at the Shropshire site and it was heaven. The huts are so well laid out and have everything you need tucked away in there. The beds were so comfy and watching the sun rise whilst under the duvet was unbeatable.

The views are stunning and the sheep just milling around really gave a sense of peace. There were moments when there was complete silence - so wonderful.

The weather was amazing which also added to the experience but I think even if it had rained we would have enjoyed it just in a different way.

3 nights at The Sparrow

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at The Sparrow on the Downton Hall Estate in Shropshire. The overall experience was very relaxing and the setting / views were stunning. Jimmy, Ruby & the team couldn't do enough to help. The cabin and amenities were more than sufficient. We would definitely recommend staying at this great venue.

Beautiful location, peaceful and private

The location is beautiful, peaceful and secluded, cabin had everything we needed, we loved it, any questions were immediately answered by text. Lots of hot water and brilliant shower. Very comfortable bed and gorgeous bed linen. Four rather than five stars as logs for log burner would not burn, kindling worked great but couldn’t keep fire going due to logs.

The best spot to rest in peace and…

The best spot to rest in peace and quiet to detox from the urban surroundings.

We looked everywhere and compared it with so many other places and decided to give it a go. Best experience as a couple ever. We regretted that we didnt stay longer. We totally disconnected from the outside world and reconnected ourselves with each other. There is no wi-fi or TV and network signal can be quite unreliable, which is a plus and a must for those who want to forget about the rushed routine. However, we were assisted throughout our stay with any questions we had.

We headed to the nearest pub, London Inn, by Claire and Stuart, and were welcome in such a special way that made our stay even better.

Rest + Wild is the best retreat we have been. Thank you!

Price point does not match stay

Having stayed in similar cabin retreats in the past, this stay unfortunately fell short. The area and views were great and we enjoyed going on walks. We could see the type of experience they are aiming to provide however based on the price point you would expect it to be well thought out. We stayed in the Wren which was fairly straight forward to find. However upon arrival I went to make a tea and found that the kettle had limescale, the team did not have a spare kettle on site, so we didn’t use it at all.The cabin itself was very dusty, we didn’t feel fully comfortable because of this. I kept sneezing as I am sensitive to dust and the only tissue was toilet roll, no tissue box/kitchen roll. The pans were still dirty and greasy. We expected a thorough and deep clean for the price paid but also because a small space like this is bound to get dusty. We later found marks on our duvet covers which we were told were due to the iron press after being laundered. However, as the team were not within the area they sent us directions to their stores where we could collect fresh sheets ourselves. We would have appreciated if they offered to drop them off later or the next day as I had already got into the bath tub. The area outside of the cabin was very muddy so expect to keep having to put your wellies on each time you step outside the cabin. We were under the impression that the cabin would be completely secluded but we had a few cars pass by and a group of people on a walk on Sunday morning - we were lucky we weren’t using the bathtub at the time! Overall, it was overpriced for the type of stay and level of comfort we had.

We had such a wonderful experience and…

We had such a wonderful experience and even though it was only a couple of days was exactly what we needed. The views were incredible, we had sheep and lambs coming right up to our cabin, the peace and quiet was priceless and really appreciated the digital detox! The cabin was super cosy and had some really nice touches and great books that really complimented the why we were there.

We took our little girl (3) and there was plenty of room to lay out a travel mattress and have room to walk around and sit at the little table.

Only niggly little things (which were very minor) were, could of done with a slightly stronger extractor fan in the kitchen area, unfortunately the weather wasn’t quite on our side to be able to use the fire pit so had to cook inside and the smoke alarm was triggered quite easily but that was resolved just by having the door and window open. The only other thing was the water pressure, sometimes it was very low and the hot water would only stay on for a very short while other than when you were filling the bathtub (which was such a nice touch and a unique fun experience!)

Honestly though, those couple of things are more just to be aware of and part and parcel of staying in a cabin and being as secluded as you are, you should really expect it.

It was definitely a stay to remember for all of the right reasons and will definitely be staying again :)
