Our son was lacking confidence with his maths GCSE. A friend recommended Richard and we have been delighted with his excellent tutoring and support.

Richard is punctual and has a great approach to working 1-2-1; so much so that our son actually looked forward to the weekly sessions! He hugely benefitted from the additional tuition which resulted in a really good grade.

I thoroughly recommend Richard.

Richard was recommended to us by one of my friends, who was really happy with his work. Richard was tutoring my daughter for maths and physics A-levels. He was punctual, managed to keep my daughter's attention on the subjects and lead her to significant improvement in both subjects. Richard tutored my son this school year for GCSE maths. He is an extremely competent tutor in both maths and physics (we had one or two of those sessions too) and explained concepts in a way that my son could understand. Richard is patient yet also challenges, which was ideal for my son who was hoping to build his confidence and improve his maths grades. I would totally recommend him as a tutor.

Richard helped me with my engineering diploma, for which I achieved a distinction. Without his help I would have found the course far harder, and his ability to explain complicated concepts within the space of maths, engineering and physics helped my understanding greatly. I would absolutely recommend him as a tutor!

Richard is an excellent tutor who is friendly, calm, brilliant at teaching maths and physics. He also successfully engaged with our son within the 1st couple of lessons. My son was struggling with understanding the concepts for his maths and physics topics and Richard has done a tremendous work of supporting him. From grade 5 in both subjects, he is now being predicted grade 8 in his iGCSE next year.

Richard is very knowledgeable and makes sure that my son understands a concept before moving on to the next one. He also gives him additional questions to practice on each topic and always found time to mark promptly and provide feedback. He also always had time to accommodate our needs as my son could only do certain times in the year. One other thing that is highly commendable is his punctuality, he was never late and my son having home tutoring was definitely a plus.

I would recommend Richard to anyone looking for support in Maths and Physics and will definitely use him again.

Richard is currently tutoring our daughter in A-level maths and physics having already tutored her older brother in A-level maths. He is calm and clear and is exceptionally knowledgable. He explains concepts in such a way that makes it easy for the student to understand and gives them questions to practise that content. He supports very well on the run up to exams too, offering practise questions and advice on how best to tackle certain concepts. Our daughter has found that he can switch easily between her two subjects in the session, depending on her needs at that time.
Being online, gives flexibility and he we highly recommended him.

Richard has supported my son through his A level Maths and Further Maths. He enjoyed the sessions with him and found him to be very knowledgeable with a friendly and relaxed approach. Nothing was too much trouble and they built a good rapport with each other. Would highly recommend to others.

I had an amazing experience with Richard. His teaching style is fantastic; he is patient, clear in explanations, and really helped my daughter understand tricky concepts. I've seen a significant improvement in my daughter’s grades since she started working with him, she had an astonishing confidence boost, from receiving a grade 4, to a hopeful grade 7 for GCSE’s. Richard tutored our son for Maths for a few months in the run up to his GCSE’s. We found Richard to be an excellent tutor who was able to successfully engage and encourage our son via clear and calm explanations of the topics. It absolutely gave our son the confidence to challenge himself and aim for higher grades. Would definitely recommend him.

Richard was a tremendous help to my daughter in the run up to her GCSE maths exam, he was patient and very knowledgable, helped enormously with her confidence and ability in this subject enabling her to gain a higher grade than expected. We contacted Richard to tutor our son through his final year of A-level physics. Our son had asked us for a tutor, as he felt he was struggling to fully understand the concepts in the time allotted in class.

Richard responded in a timely manner and was happy to answer any questions, regarding his qualifications and background but also gave us excellent generic advice regarding how a tutor can and can’t help (i.e. the student needs to be willing to engage and motivated) and then gave us time to consider our decision to hire him, without any pressure.
Put simply Richard was brilliant.
My son found he clicked really well with Richard and that Richard was engaging and patient with him. Richard spent time talking through concepts and questions, creating a discussion around the subject material, rather than a lecture and this allowed our son to feel that he was a physicist and not just a school child. This helped reignite our son’s love of physics and therefore improve his motivation and drive.
Richard also encouraged our son to message him questions he had during the week, or past papers he had completed, so that Richard could be prepared for the topics our son wanted to cover each week. Richard responded quickly to ours son’s questions, which was an huge benefit to our son between sessions.
I would definitely hire Richard again, if another one of our children chooses physics.
And the fact that he came to our home was a huge bonus.

In summary Richard is an excellent tutor and well worth his fee. I would recommend him without reservation.
