The way Via does surge pricing, it's almost as bad as Uber and Lyft, but it can't even drop me off at my door. It doesn't offer ANY discounts, or special deals. I've noticed that often the single ri... See more

Via Ride Share - On Time and Under Budget

In NYC, transportation options are a dime a dozen. We can catch the subway for $2.75, or an Uber for $20, or walk for our own sanity.

I choose Via to get where I need to be in the comfort and ease of an Uber, at an affordable rate of the subway. Whether we are in the middle of a heat wave or blizzard, Via is always an option due to its reliability, structured pricing and friendly drivers.

Hey Via, Thanks for getting me there, on time and under budget!

Good experience in general

Good experience in general. I’m occasionally frustrated with pick ups. I go to where the app tells me to meet the driver and they are located elsewhere. Fortunately your ride-share service works well most of the time.

Above average service

Above average service, one of the two I use in NYC (along with Uber). The app is great when you're not in a hurry, as they still offer the best prices for comparable shared rides. Sometimes during rush hours, the pickup time is optimistic, or the driver is reassigned. While understandable, it is frustrating if you're keeping to a schedule. Otherwise, it's a trustworthy app with decent customer support and allegedly a fair and favorable wage for drivers.

The times are continually inaccurate in new york city. Sometimes something that looks like it should take 20 minutes has taken close to an hour.
When i order a car, quite often the closest one is 16+ min away in busy areas. Coupled with the time being inaccurate, Via is very unreliable in peak traffic times.
I use via only when i'm not in a rush.

Very reasonably priced.

Very reasonably priced.
Only drawback when I need to go from 29 st tp 42nd st. Drivers dump at 37 st on 8 th ave.
I am handicap walking with cane. For me it torture to walk 4 blocks. You need to consider this especially for handicaps n seniors.
If I know in advance of dumping at 38 st. I will not take your ride and go with Uber

Pricing good

Pricing good, nice drivers (largely). Some times dropped off far from where going and person has no idea how I can get there.

Best value in town

Best value in town!

Truly the best value in town for automobile transportation. I appreciate having the option of using Via. It's so easy and the prices are reasonable. Cars are clean and the drivers are friendly.

Most of the drivers were fine

Most of the drivers were fine. Really good and helpful for the price. However, I had one experience that was really bad, with a guy I was worried would do something to us.

A good alternative to Lyft / Uber

Some of the drivers are surly but it's cheap and generally easy to use. Sometimes the pick up / drop off corner isn't clear. Most of the time I can get from Flatbush to Midtown for under $15. That alone makes this a 4!
