Classic time piece

Really nice watch, the Howard Hughes model that i bought is a retro classic. Only 4 stars, because the wrong instructions were sent, and even though I was told the new ones would be sent they never arrived.
But the main reason for the star deducted is the poor quality strap.

3 value for money watches

I bought the Bessie, Earhart and the Almond Rifleman Field watches. I am impressed by then all. They feel sturdy and keep great time. I am happy to own my first GMT. Also the clasp on the Earhart is pretty good and so is the quality of the strap.

The only complain I would have is that the strap on the Bessie Wasn't my favourite but that's no deal-breaker for me because it's a quick release.

I adore all of it

I adore the customer care service, Quick and no lost of time; they act instead of saying!

The watch is way better that I could even thought for the price. Because of the clever and subtle design of the lugs, it goes perfectly on the small and big wrist.

A simple watch but yet extraodinair on everall feeling! Not a lot of details of texturing and all, because all the details are inside the simplicity which makes it so pleasant to wear every day!

Ordered two

Ordered two HH01 watches because I couldn’t decide what one I wanted. Watches quality and value for the price is great. Delivery was quick ( I’m in Canada)and tracking the order was simple.

If you are a lover and collector of microbrands like me, these watches won’t disappoint! I’m considering purchasing one of their other models.

Absolutely Worth It!

My husband is in love with his watch and wears it almost everyday.
Coming from England, and it arrived in a week. Fantastic shipping speed.
It even came with additional links that we had a jeweler add on (husband has giant hands), which was essential. We couldn't be happier.

Hey Tina,

There’s no right or wrong way to set that hand, it’s a modified GMT hand that you can use to either track a different time zone or (for more of a novel usage, and closer to how we designed it to be used) you can use it to represent sunrise and sunset throughout the day.

There’s a little card that explains what to do in the box.

Severe quality issues and blatant lying

EDIT 26.3.2026: After writing the review, I got contacted by the seller wanting to settle the matter. They finally sent the promised replacements after which I paid the order in full.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I ordered two watches (order two watches and get one -50 % off) via Klarna (30 days payment term). After I receive the parcel one the watch boxes was broken. I report this to the seller and hopef for a replacement or at least an apology. Well they never replied to my e-mail but never mind this minor mishap, the most important is that I get the watches, right?
Then I notice a defect in one of the watches. The case is polished poorly and there is a visible notch. I contact the seller and report to Klarna that there is a quality issue with the order. Klarna puts the payable on hold. These are the very reasons you use Klarna for, right? It takes a week for the seller to reply. No apologies but otherwise nice conversation and they promise to send me a replacement ”tomorrow morning” . (Spoiler: I never receive the replacement). Two days afterwards I notice that the other watch has an issue as well, the date changes at 18.00 hours and not at 24.00. I report this too to the seller and Klarna. No response for ten days and then I decide to contact the seller again but unfortunately there is no response. Then four days later I contact the seller again and get a response the next day. The seller apologises (this time) and tells me”… it seems to have been missed off are list for replacements. We have just sent them out today” (spoiler: I never receive them) The seller also provides and tracking code …..but two hours later sends another email stating that since the payment intermediare Klarna (maybe woth mentioning that Klarna is the service provider that the seller has chosen to operate with) has requested a refund from them because I have reported an issue with the order. Thus they will not send me any replacements. The seller also claimed (falsely) that I have received a watch with half a price. All I got was two defected watches and two watchboxes of which the other one is broken. In yet another contact from my side I bring up the quality issues and ask about the situation. They acknowledge the quality and process issues and promise to send the replacements. They never send any replacements.

To sum up my customer experience:
-I received two faulty items and paid VAT and custom handling for these faulty products. I didn’t receive ”according to Riley promise” any replacements for these faulty items
-I was the party active in the communication. Sometimes they did not reply at all and when they did, there was a significant delay
-They promised to act according to ”The Riley promise” and replace faulty watches. In my case they never did despite promising on three different occations.….
-Instead of apologising, they blamed the intermediary Klarna for the incident. I think customer should not get involved with the sellers process issues i.e. how they operate with Klarna

The simple truth is thst they had severe quality and process issues which they did not address properly. I think it is clear from the above that just everything there is went wrong with this order

I would very much like to support a micro brand. I like the aesthetics of Riley watches. But unfortunately based on the above it would be wrong for me to recommend this seller. I understand the difficulty of being a small family owned brand with millions of things to do. Nevertheless I just can’t look past the lying to a customer ”We’ll sent the replacement out tomorrow….We have sent the replacements out today, here is the tracking code” and eventually shifting the blame to the payment processor Klarna. Instead, they should apologise for not just one but two faulty items and act with integrity and live up to their ”Riley promise”. I’m sorry for this harsh review but I just could not let this slide….

Sorry you had this experience, and as you know we’ve been trying to solve the issue via email. Just with reference to the above situation, 3 total chargebacks were made against us, two of which were decided in your favour (we didn’t try to dispute them, as we were happy to issue you a refund it’s just we’re unable to if there’s an active chargeback), so as things stand you were already refunded the entirety of the order. That this doesn’t show in your Klarna account is of no relevance to us, it’s between you and Klarna. From the perspective of our relationship with Klarna, they’re a payment processor, and you used them to initiate a chargeback, we didn’t dispute it, and the chargeback was completed (meaning we’ve paid back the money to Klarna).

You’ll have to speak to them to resolve any outstanding balance you have with them, this is nothing to do with us, but if you need our support I can email you confirmation of all of the above, referencing the chargebacks, the amounts and the dates on which these were actioned.

Lovely watch. Awful customer service.

Ordered two different watches.

Received a duplicate of the same watch
Contacted Riley to rectify via email twice and their instagram with no reply before finally receiving a reply through their contact form. Riley offered to replace the duplicate with the watch I ordered and send a free return label for the duplicate. I no longer wanted the second watch and requested the return label only. There was no further email from Riley and I have not recieved the return label.

We emailed you a return label on January 15, it’s a Royal Mail Tracked 24 label addressed to our workshop. The day after you emailed us saying you wanted one.

Normally we’d have put one in the box with the replacement watch but you said you no longer wanted the replacement.

If for some reason it hasn’t come through to you, you should let us know via email or our contact form, we’re always available there, and we’d have just resent it to you.

I feel a 1 star review is a little harsh here, but I’m sorry you felt that way. Any issues, we generally resolve quickly and to everyone’s satisfaction, so I’m sorry it didn’t work out that way this time.

I’ll resend the label, (please check your spam just in case) and we will process the refund for the second watch now so you’re not waiting around.

Classic gift
