Pretty good vw suite car

Pretty good vw suite car. Roadsurfer helped us good. Although you have to read carefully about what’s including in the car tho, we thought kitchen wares was includes such as cutlery and pots, but that you had to buy extra. Which roadsurfer helped us with at the spot. Had no problem with it and return went smoothly.

Great overall experience!

We found the staff of Roadsurfer to be super helpful and friendly at their lot, both at the start and end of our trip. We had never been in a camper van, so had a lot to learn and get used to. After a couple of days on the road, the camper felt like home - we had learned so much about how to run all the systems, and having a home on wheels gave us great freedom and flexibility. Our only concern was the worn condition of the two back tires - given our two weeks in the mountains of Utah, we were not comfortable driving on snowy or gravel roads. The Roadsurfer team made note of that and plan to change tires before releasing the van.

We rented a camper with roadsurfer and we loved!

We rented a camper with roadsurfer and had a great overall experience. The vehicle was new, everything worked as expected, and it was very comfortable for the trip.

The checkout process was super fast and straightforward, which we really appreciated.

For check-in, it would be even better if someone could give a quick walkthrough of the main amenities and features of the camper. It would help first-time users get up to speed more easily.

Overall, a very positive experience and we’d definitely rent again!

A fabulous family vacay

Overall, we were pleased to have this service available for a pretty grand trip around the Olympic peninsula across the sound and into BC. Reserving the van and updating that was very easy. Pick up was a little confusing as we have never had a camper van before, and the two types shown in the videos have some significant differences (microwave, awning). Existing damage (nonfunctional burner) was not pointed out initially, and at drop-off the attendant was unaware as well. Attendant said otherwise all was fine at drop-off, then the report listed multiple concerns. Time estimate to complete the drop-off would be helpful also, as we had flights to catch. Most importantly, we are truly grateful for this wonderful trip.

We rented two campers in Venice with…

We rented two campers in Venice with the maximum insurance policy (Complete Care). Despite having full coverage, they have unfairly kept 1,200€ of our deposits (800€ for a broken stove glass and 400€ for minor scratches).
They are refusing to apply the insurance we paid for and have been completely ignoring our emails for two weeks. This is a total breach of contract. We feel robbed. Avoid this company—their premium insurance is a scam if they don't honor it when something happens.

Poor quality of vehicle and customer after care.

I rented a Motorhome for a week from 18/3.

The rear barn doors had an extending bike rack which both the manager of the centre and I found challenging, bumping our heads on the extending arm across both rear doors at handover.

Unfortunately the van had done 40+k and a number of important items were inoperable. The handbrake didn’t engage. The rear barn door catch when opened did not click to avoid the door closing.

On the 2nd day while working at the rear of the the vehicle, the faulty catch caused the door to swing closed hitting me on the head and knocking me unconscious.

I attended A&E undergoing a CT scan and investigation of nerve damage causing me to develop drop foot/slap as a result of the incident. I was incapacitated for two days while I recovered from the trauma.

This has continued to be the case some 4 weeks after the incident. I am undergoing intensive physio to try and release/repair perineal nerve damage causing me to fall due to a weak foot lift capacity.

I informed the manager of the faulty items and danger of the overhanging door on return. He has since denied this was reported to him in discussions with its Customer service.

At first having contacted the company, they said the issue was with the manufacturer of the vehicle, not Roadsurfer. I pointed out my contract was with Roadsurfer.

They asked for detailed records of my attendance at A&E and my GP. I provided this.

They have since claimed not enough detail was in the health records, and no proof that the accident caused the issue was provided, with my incapacitated leg.

Poor poor show on the part of this company. I am now faced with the prospect of long term nerve damage, a permanent limp and trauma associated with faulty/dangerous equipment included in the rental vehicle.

I ask simply that the company take responsibility for this accident and recompense me for my incapacitated 2 days recovering.

Don't be fooled by this company!

We rented from Ulm, Germany for 12 days. The pick up was terrible. When we arrived they said we had to take the one the computer assigned even though it was dated. They said recently the water pump was replaced. The refrigerator had mold growing in it. The tire sensors indicator warning was on and we insisted they fill the tires. The vehicle was low on oil and had no windshieldwiper fluid. We had to insist on all these things being taken care of. (They would not fill the oil). The blinds were made of paper and ripped. The sunlight (top) window whistled and rattled until we returned and insisted they repair the seal on it. Which they did but it was our time wasted. When we returned it they would not let us be present when they evaluated for damages. They then sent a list of damages without any pictures or specifications. We know there was not any damages so these are made up. There is no number to reach a person so you cannot question them. Plus there is no way to leave a negative review on their website. They have a system that misleads people to thinking they are trustworthy when they are not.

Hi Alex,

Thank you for your feedback. Vehicle condition is documented at handover and return using a standardized process, including photo documentation. We also generally recommend taking your own photos or a short video at pick-up and return to help avoid misunderstandings.

We will review your case internally once again. We encourage you to reach out to us directly if you have any further questions so that we can help resolve your issue.

No support when the camper van broke down

The camper van was quite new and easy to drive but it developed a fault and no matter how hard I tried I could not get anyone at roadsurfer to help me. The European based support centres kept passing me on to other people and in the end I had to sort it out myself. The first part of my holiday was ruined.

I am writing to formally complain about…

I am writing to formally complain about the vehicle I rented (Booking ID: [3197336301]) from your Austria branch. I encountered several serious issues that significantly impacted my trip:

1. Water System Defect: The water lever (valve) inside the camper was defective and would not open or close properly. As a result, we could not use water at all throughout our entire trip. When I returned the vehicle to the Linz branch, the staff member there personally inspected and confirmed this defect. They explicitly advised me to contact the customer center to request a refund for this issue.

2. Engine Warning Light: The engine warning light kept appearing on the dashboard. This caused us great anxiety and discomfort while driving, as we were constantly worried about a potential breakdown.

Due to these technical failures, we were unable to enjoy the basic facilities of the camper and felt unsafe during our journey. Therefore, I am requesting a refund for the rental period.
I have sent to your e-mail to photo of the engine warning light as evidence. I look forward to your prompt response.

Hi Doyeon,

Thank you for your feedback. Our campers are maintained regularly and checked before handover. Issues with cleanliness or functionality should not happen and do not match the standard we aim for.

Potential Fraud Case - Hannover Roadsurfer

They are claiming damages that already existed in the vehicle. During checkin, scratches and marks were visible and generally described to the side of the car (with poor quality images). During checkin, I’ve recorded all on video and pointed to those exact damages (zooming in on the same exact spot). Local staff said they were not a problem and were minor scratches, that should not be reported/input in the system. During my return, I was told by the local staff that everything was in order and I was encouraged to leave the station, which I normally did. After having left, I was surprised by an email/invoice from Roadsurfer claiming allegedly new damages during my rental. I called support and they said it was impossible to contact the Station by phone. I was still in Hannover and immediately went back to the Station, and showed the pickup video to the local team and the Regional Manager for North Germany (occasionally there at the moment). The team immediately acknowledged the mistake from their side but did nothing to reverse the situation. They basically said once the false claim was in their system, there was nothing they could do. Now my holding deposit is locked and pending. Im facing a potential charge for a well documented pre-existing damage. Im ready to take legal action against Roadsurfer, and also forward this case to tax authorities for further investigation. If this is a repetitive behavior against other customers, it may indicate Roadsurfer can be potentially holding deposits illegally by making inadequate claims.

*** Update: I received an email 3 days later from their Damage & Claims Expert stating that, due to the available information, the damage would not be pursued further and no invoice would be issued.

Be very careful renting from Roadsurfer…

Be very careful renting from Roadsurfer (Venice/Mira).

No joint inspection was carried out when we returned the vehicle, and we were only contacted afterwards about a small scratch on the mirror. Later, we received an €849 charge for multiple damages that were never mentioned at the time.

The vehicle already had pre-existing damage (confirmed in their own report), and the photos provided do not support their claim of scratches “over 9 cm”.

No time-stamped proof was given to show that these damages occurred during our rental period.

We have disputed the charges and escalated the case legally.

Make sure to take detailed photos and insist on a signed inspection at pickup and return.

Our experience renting a campervan from…

Our experience renting a campervan from Roadsufers was excellent from start to finish. The pickup process in Salt Lake City was smooth and hassle-free. The staff member at check-in was incredibly helpful, taking the time to walk us through all the features of the van and clearly explaining how to use each amenity.

The campervan itself was brand new and thoughtfully equipped for both on-grid and off-grid adventures. Everything—from the heater to the water pump—worked perfectly, and the beds were extremely comfortable.

A special highlight for us was how much our toddler loved the roof bed. It turned into a cozy little spot where we could relax and even enjoy a beautiful sunrise from inside the van.

Overall, a fantastic experience, and I would definitely recommend Roadsufers for anyone looking for a comfortable and well-equipped campervan rental.
