Customer service is a disgrace..........

I sent an request for information regarding their products. They acknowledged receipt and stated they would reply within 2 days. They never bothered to reply to the query. As can be seen from their Trustpilot reviews they never respond to any reviews. This is shocking and clearly shows their attitude to customers. Will never look at their products again. Customer service is a disgrace.

Delivered to the wrong address

Ordered a spare part from Roberts Radio Technical and they delivered it to my billing address which is 100 miles away from the delivery address. It's going to cost me the price of the item again in fuel to retrieve, let alone the time and effort...and that's if it has not been already stolen from the grounds of the property if left behind the bin or near the porch.

Over priced spare

I bought a replacement aerial for a Roberts radio.
Roberts charged me £13.86. An identical aerial costs £3.99 on Amazon.
The aerial is fine but vastly overpriced.

Outstanding customer support

Just put the phone down after calling Roberts support line. Wow, what a customer service! The guy (forgot to ask his name) was patient and knowledgeable and we managed to sort the problem which had caused my six year old Stream 94i to stop working. In these days of awful customer service Roberts shines out. Well worth the money, great products and outstanding customer support.

The Robert’s Revival, a great compact clock radio

I have a Robert’s radio from the 70’s, my uncles, still sounds great and so does the Revival I have just purchased. Same build quality and excellent sound, with a very clear clock in a small package that easily fits on my bedside cabinet. Yes it’s a bit more expensive than many similar clock radios but with the Revival you get a beautiful device that I’m sure will last a very long time. Thank you Roberts

Roberts, never again!

Roberts? Never again!

First of all, the battery: I remember some old portable radios that could last several months with a set of batteries, with a daily use of several hours.
Roberts? Last barely one day, and with the radio in sleep mode.

And, in addition, for an unknown reason, from time to time, it get stuck looking for radio station on internet. You have to wait at least one minute to to be tuned!

Sound quality? It could be worse but it should be better for the price.

Honestly, for the price, it's no a good deal...

The radio case has been pealing off since the day I bought it. I cannot pick up the set without the rubber/leather coming off in my hand. For a $400+ radio this is incredibly disappointing.

Roberts Radio Issues

This ecologic 1 is the 4th Roberts radio I have owned.
This one has been iffy since new.Sometimes turns on,but mostly after several attempts. Also several attempts needed to turn off.Sometimes channel buttons do not work.Sometimes volume buttons do not work.
All developed faults later.
I assumed I was buying quality, but experience has proved otherwise.

If I could give it no stars I would

If I could give it no stars I would. Got given a Rambler as a present and it doesn't switch on. You plug it in as the instructions say and you're met with a blank screen. Disappointing for a company with 2 Royal warrants. One expects better tbh. The fact I read here its now made abroad isn't surprising...

Very pleased

Very pleased
My mother who is 91 and partially sighted purchased a Roberts Concerto 3 player as recommended at the time by the RNIB. After a couple of years use water was spilled into it and the CD player ceased working.
I was extremely pleased that it could be repaired as my mother knew her way round this appliance (and they are no longer produced). Not cheap but well worth doing as she can again play the RNIB talking books - thank you.

Plastic nostalgia imaging disguises Amazon approach

I bought the radio in 2021. Only four years later, it fused my entire bedroom, and died. I took it to a community repair cafe (free, as opposed to the Roberts service which is pricey - highly recommend!) and they told me it was irreparable.
Customer service was unhelpful, just gave me a 20% discount, and then hung up on me mid-sentence.
I wouldn't be so irritated if they didn't so trade so heavily on their 'British Heritage' brand. They've moved their manufacturing abroad. Their products are so poorly made it feels like planned obsolescence. Their image is just microplastic-coated nostalgia, Roberts is like any other cheap electronics vender. Buy this, buy from temu; same thing, nicer packaging.

I have a Roberts radio which works but is interment. I called Roberts Radio ‘service’ only to be told ‘we don’t service if more than 18 months old’ , try changing the mains lead.
No help, very abrupt on the ‘service’ line .
My advice, given my experience , DONT BUY ROBERTS RADIO.
They’re not a cheep brand, and hold a Royal Warrant, whatever that indicates! But service NONE.
DONT BUY ROBERTS!!

Robert's Pillow Talk Speaker: no sound

Can't understand why there are so many good reviews of the Robert's Pillow Talk Speaker. I bought one from John Lewis. It doesn't work! Can hardly hear anything when it is held up to my ear. I tried it with every audio output device I have with the same result. I looked more closely at individual reviews and found many others experienced the same problem.

RobertsSportsDab…

I have had my RobertsSportsDab for many years and use it when I am gardening, which is nearly every day. Recently the volume button stopped working and within a week I had sent it to your technical team and it has been returned mended. I love that you do repairs and thank you for mending my radio companion!

On / off button not working

I bought a Roberts Play radio about 4 years ago, as did a friend. On both our radios the On/Off button became unreliable after about 2 years. Try to switch the thing off and it keeps coming on again! Now, hers has stopped working altogether and on mine, the button won't always switch on. I also had a larger Roberts radio, covered in "leather". It still works but looks terrible as when it is touched, the leather peels off. Over-rated in my opinion.

Brilliant service.

My Roberts Radio 'Ortus 3' bedside clock radio has been a source of constant delight for the years I have had it. Moreover, when I have accidentally changed its settings, as I did last night, and have done so before, I phoned them and the lady answering the phone [her name was Rachel] talked me through applying the correct settings in a matter of just a few minutes. Their service is superb as is my clock radio which has performed fault free for many years.

I have no hesitation in recommending the firm, its products and the service provided,

Really love my 93i and thinking of upgrading at some point. The sound quality is so good. Some of the functionality can be a bit confusing, this is where I need to praise the Tech Team especially Rachel, she has been so helpful and patient, in fact a lifeline and brilliant!!! Can't praise Rachel enough.

Roberts Revival iStream – beautiful design, appalling service ⭐☆☆☆☆

I bought a Roberts Revival iStream from the Peter Jones store in Sloane Square in May 2025. It has never worked properly.

When I contacted Roberts customer service, I was met with cold indifference. Because I paid in cash and no longer had the paper receipt, they refused to help — no goodwill, no attempt to trace the serial number, just a lecture about “consumer law” and how it wasn’t their problem.

For a company that trades so heavily on “British heritage,” the arrogance and lack of basic decency are staggering. Once they’ve got your money, that’s where the relationship ends.

A lovely-looking radio backed by the worst customer service I’ve encountered in years. Avoid.
