Excellent sound
Our radio / CD / alarm has recently expired after > 20 years of service.
The Roberts Revival Rest was determined (by my wife) as the acceptable replacement.
It's not the easiest device to set up. More 'scratch your head' than 'plug and play' when trying to sort it out. And getting appropriate 'preset' radio stations required a couple of attempts.
The alarm setting is a case in point of confusion - as it suddenly requires the date. Why ..... it's not covered by the instruction nor by Google as far as I can see. On the 2nd alarm set I suddenly realised that, by default, I would be setting a one off alarm for 4 days prior!
But other than resolvable setting up eccentricities - it is brilliant. The sound quality is truly exceptional - even DAB is perfect when considering both our dedicated Pure DAB radios (downstairs) struggle because of the thick walls of the property.
A really good purchase. Just requires a bit of tinkering with the instructions, which are confusing in places.
Very Happy with Roberts
Wonderful sound quality in our new Roberts RD70 radio. Rang and spoke to Roberts Customer Services as we were concerned about the design of the electrical adapter lead and, not only was the phone answered quickly and the staff member spoke good English (sadly, not always the case with customer service departments these days) but Rachel really cared, and resolved our concerns with kindness. Made us feel valued. Feel Roberts is a genuine, modern company but with old fashioned service and support. Great they are an English company. Very happy!
Disappointing product and customer service
Both my sister and I have radios where the faux leather coating has peeled badly. Like others, I was advised I could send them back but no guarantee it could be repaired. They’ve now become so bad they leave a plastic sawdust every time you use/move them. Customer service reply still awaited after weeks of asking what can be done
Very unreliable, but look good
I have now had 3 Roberts radios and all have gone faulty within 3 years. Two of these were just outside the 2 year warranty, and the other was replaced during warranty period. Sadly, one of those failing just outside warranty was the replacement.
For such higher end products, this is very poor. By contrast, we have numerous cheaper radios, clock radios and other audio devices that are still going strong after ten or even twenty years.
On the Roberts Revival radio, the volume control failed. It will play, but if anyone turns the volume knob it's anyone's guess if it will go up or down, and it takes many attempts to get it back to listenable volume.
Both Zen Plus clock radios behaved well for a while, but then went screwy. The first randomly set or unset the alarms, and would sometimes just flash for no reason. The second was doing okay until the clocks went forward to summer time. It didn't change automatically, but I didn't get round to changing it manually and then it changed itself the following night. But then it changed itself back again! So I manually set the time. And it changed itself back later in the day.
Then it put itself right again overnight and the 7am alarm went off on time at 7am this morning. I got up and made breakfast. One hour later, at 8am, I heard the alarm go off again, went into the bedroom and there was the clock showing 7am again!!!!
Roberts would repair out of warranty items, at my cost, but it would not be economic to pay for repair every 2 or 3 years when a cheaper device would cost less than the repair.
An unreliable alarm clock is worse than useless, so I'm afraid it will be going to the tip and I'll be buying a less expensive replacement.
I will not buy Roberts branded radios again and I advise others to think carefully unless wanting to treat these devices as disposable.

Just purchased the Revival Petite 2…
Just purchased the Revival Petite 2 .This was for the wife as I am bordering on being profoundly deaf .
I have to say that I thought I had made a mistake with the size of this radio , it seems too small to be heard .
What a mistake as this radio for it's size is a super performer, words are difficult to put on paper to say how pleased that even I can hear it , not as well as others, but very impressive, size does not matter in this case .
NO USB ADAPTOR SUPPLIED WITH A PRODUCT THAT REQUIRES ONE TO CHARGE IT!!
Purchased a Roberts Reunion speaker and am happy with the product itself and can recommend.
….HOWEVER, what I am not happy with is the actual service from Roberts and was very unhappy to have received the product with NO MEANS OF CHARGING IT. Robert’s supply a USB cable ONLY and do not supply a USB adaptor plug! When questioned about this missing essential, their reply was that “they do not supply a USB adaptor plug as most people have one for other devices”. I was then told that I can buy one from their store for an additional £15! As far as I’m concerned, when you buy a product you should receive ALL NECESSARY CHARGING EQUIPMENT, so to be told this, I was very frustrated! I basically cannot use this product unless I spend more money on a means to charge it!!
I also urged them to include this information in the product description as it doesn’t not specify anywhere that one needs to provide their own charging equipment!

Exceptionally good initial contact with Customer Service regarding my old radio - polite, helpful and gave clear instructions re the repair process.
Received the radio back but sadly it is still not working properly - I think time has come to replace the old thing!
Roberts Petite Radio 2
Roberts Petite Radio 2. Style without substance, purchased from Argos August 24. Radio only shows the time when plugged in. No instructions included, extremely fiddly controls, it has now decided to not even switch on. Took back to Argos who said I had to contact Roberts directly, I emailed a month ago not even had an acknowledgment from Roberts.
Bad customer service
Bad customer service, refunds take far too long to receive back, was partially refunded for a dab radio I bought and also a usb plug but only got refunded for the radio! So I called and asked why and was told the refund for the usb plug would be paid back asap, I’m still awaiting the refund after nearly 2 weeks! I’m shocked at how bad this company are for things like this considering how nice there products are which I have no complaints about at all. You fill out a customer form online yet never get a response! Will be last time I deal with Roberts online as getting your money back is hopeless!
Using the USB for music playback
Using the USB for music playback, the radios now only accept MP3s. They no longer accept FLAC or WAV.
Given that Roberts have always been good for sound quality this is such a backwards step. Even the instore staff were confused about the info shown on the website about types of file accepted and offered me a refund which I accepted. Not fit for my purpose.

I bought this latest in a long line Roberts Radios. This time a Rambler in Burgundy refurbished model. Had builders in for some alterations, and placed the table in the door frame, closed the door & snapped the ariel in half. Telephoned to see what could be done, very friendly willingly to do all possible for the prepaid postage label, it arrived early, sent it back, and was repaired and cleaned and ready for service. I tried to tighten up the ariel to make it stiff so the ariel stayed in the position required. I broke the connection and returned for second time, speedy return, happy to say it is prefect condition and now used daily. Two repairs saved this young radio from landfill. The cost of repairs and postage was well worth the effort, thank you Roberts Radio.

Awful customer service, horrible peeling skin
I bought two radios from Roberts in 2011, both started suffering from peeling skin very early on. I couldn't take it anymore and called in 2019 to see what they could do. There was no apology for the quality issue, I was asked to send two heavy radios at my own cost to them to be investigated (with no guarantee that they could rectify the issue). I did not think this was a fair way of handling my complaint, as I didn't feel I should be out of pocket for a quality issue on their end. I've called again recently, and have been told they can't recoat the radio now as no more parts, and the only option is to give me 20% off a NEW radio (offer expires in 6 months). Why should I part with more cash to compensate for your quality issue?? I asked for an extended period of 3 years for the 20% and Rachel from customer service refused. I am just not in a position to buy a BRAND NEW radio in 6 months when my current ones are working, albeit with very tatty exteriors.
I am very disappointed. These radios with peeling skins should have been recalled and repaired at no cost to customers. I will never buy from Roberts again.
Purchased an alarm clock
Purchased an alarm clock. Didn’t work properly. Reported to customer services and asked to return for a replacement. They didn’t believe me so had to send a video. After seeing the video agreed it was faulty. Now waiting for a replacement.
After my purchase they asked me to submit a review. I submitted a fair review. They didn’t like it so they had it deleted as they don’t like honest and fair reviews of faulty products.
If you don’t like bad reviews don’t ask for honest feedback.

Mono headphones output and not stereo as I would've expected..because some of information about this is missing or misleading being that sellers description says stereo headphone socket..this has rendered useless for me as I intended to listen through headphones in stereo and not MONO!

Very small, lacks info
It works well BUT it's very small like a 1960's transistor radio.
It also does not have any instructions on how to pre set your favourite station. You really can't guess this stuff so more info please The Roberts firm.

Bought the Petite 2 for traveling and the official roberts charger. Awesome combo and very impressed with the build quality of both. Wish charger came in black to match the radio but that's just a small thing. Awesome little radio. Can well recommend.
