Bought a gallon of paint at Rona for a…

Bought a gallon of paint at Rona for a project. The lid was not reapplied tightly after tint and mixing. Ended up with a good portion on my kitchen floor.
Went back to store with photo, the evening manager apologized and replaced my paint.
I could not even be upset as the lady assisting in color match was very helpful.

With so many bad reviews

With so many bad reviews - why bother ? I stupidly tried to get some help with a project and there was no staff able to advise me. I think they all must be looking for new jobs as no one to be found. Home Depot did fine tho and I dropped 1k on a new vanity for our semi-detached.

Rona only interested in themselves

- Your customer service sucks (0/10).
I had paid my invoice, but Rona apparently lost the transaction. I had confirmed with my credit card company that the transaction went through but your staff insisted that it hadnt...which left me extremely frustrated at the till as I was out a $1000 and you guys did not acknowledge that you owed me the installation of the door. Rather you insisted that I pay you a second time! Two days later, your head office confirmed that the transaction had occurred and that things would proceed as normal. I had indicated that this had cost me a t least two hours of my time and that I expected to be compensated for that...The service manager agreed...but I am still waiting for a discount but no one has contacted me.

When I booked the installation they told me it would be about a two week wait for the installation to occur. After a month, I had phoned into the store (during business hours) and left a message for the service manager to give me a call as I was still waiting. I never received an answer No answer. 10 days later my wife called in to complain that the door had not been installed. They finally called the next day to say that it would be installed. So more than 5 weeks and we had to prompt you to do the install.

Once the installerts actually got there they did a decent job of the install.

Clearly RONA/Lower gives more importance to getting the sale and getting their money and really dont give a flying f$%ck about their customers after that. This is the story that I will be telling everyone about my experience with RONA on every platform. I also will not be doing further business with Rona or Lowes.

Don't waste your time driving to Waterdown Rona

July 5th/23. Closest "corporate" Rona store to me is in Waterdown. I was directed there by my local Lowe's store, saying to me that I should call them (the OTR microwave I wanted was listed in the "clearance" online portal for that location). I tried to call long distance more than once & it rang & rang & then it would drop into a "mailbox". Zero help. No one responded to the message I left. I called to their Corporate Rona Customer service to ask for help. No help there. Rep there stated that the phone system was down (?) & there were issues with the online ordering too (so, maybe there was a microwave there in the clearance, but maybe not, as the system fails to update quantities available). So, do I spend 40 min. driving to Waterdown for nothing? Basically, it was like: "go fish, lady" & no one at Rona is concerned about customer service, nor fixing their broken systems. She told me "they're too busy" to answer (it was either that or the phone system at that Rona is non-functional -- she didn't know which). I aborted the entire shopping project with Rona & will shop elsewhere now. A complete waste of time. 👎

A disappointing online experience

Yesterday I ordered and paid for a EGO cordless mower online. I expected to pick it up today, but instead received a call telling me that they don't have it in stock, even though it said it was in stock when I ordered it.

Here are some of the excuses I was told by Rona employees:

At my pickup store, I was told that they only have a demo model, and that it doesn't have the batteries. When I said that I need a battery, I was told that batteries can be purchased separately. This mower is supposed to come with a battery (and a box and manual etc).

I called another store that said it had 1 in stock. When I called the store, they told me that they don't have one available – if it says 1 in stock, that includes the demo model which they can not sell.

I also called customer service but again no solution.

I finally found one in Guelph, Ontario, a 1.5 to 2 hour drive each way depending on traffic.

When I was at a Rona store the other day, I wondered why there were no cars in the parking lot. Home Depot was busy when I was there. This experience has answered my question.

I see that Rona has announced a new CEO. I hope that Mr. Iacobucci will make customer service a priority – that seems like the only way to compete with Home Depot and Amazon.

Went to Rona store on 9:04am May 30th

Went to Rona store on 9:04am May 30th, 2023 to purchase garden material for my customers. Receipt#*812370011081*

I picked up two of the same items identical items bought it to the cashier they were missed priced. The cashier asked for assistance 10 minutes later someone from the garden centre came out to inform me that they didn’t know and they had to check. I asked for the manager 10 minutes later the manager comes out to tell me that he cannot help me and I should wait for the Garden Centre to respond after waiting a half an hour I decided to, leave the store. I then called and left a message for the manager who returned my call. I spoke with her and she promised that she would look into it and get back to me within a week. Subsequently one week has passed and it my time has exceeded to respond to your survey on the receipt. I’ve been using your Brampton location on Highway 10 in Bovaird prior to Rona when it was called “Building Box”and I have been supporting this location for 20 years. Plus I would consider myself a loyal customer.
However, due to poor selection of staffing, it has come to this point where your staff and management for way below expectation; and I am a palled that the manager try to smooth talk me into believing she would respond and making my survey time expire. Very low and conniving.
This is why Home Depot has come into Canada and taking over because they offer decent customer service.
I will make sure I continue to share this message throughout social media.

I recently purchased a lawn mower…

I recently purchased a lawn mower (Craftsman.)
It leaks gas from the carburetor and doesn’t cut the grass
It was on sale $400. Honda motor is the real reason I bought it.
Rona refused to take it back. Stating there is gas in the tank. So it’s a hazard. Yet they sell gas on their shelves.
They gave me the wrong number for craftsman (USA)
Craftsman USA gave me the wrong number for craftsman CA.
Craftsman CA gave me a number for MTD. USA
MTD says take it back to where I purchased the mower.
Everyone passing the buck.
And I’m out $400 plus taxes.
Craftsman and Rona have just lost a loyal customer.
Unreal.

TRUE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I came into the Rona store located on West 1st Street in North Vancouver, BC early on Victoria Day. I was looking for information regarding the EGO product line and was greeted by Marilla Costa (Assistant Store Manager). I was very surprised by her enthusiasm and knowledge of the product line. I wanted to purchase two specific items from this line of tools and Marilla went out of her way to source them out and conduct a search on her computer. As luck would have it, one of the items was in the store on the shelf but the other item showed up on the computer as only one available and it too was located in the store. Finding it however, proved to be a real challenge. In the end and about half an hour later my search through Marilla's perseverance, paid off. Now most associates that I have experienced in the past few years fall way short of any customer service at all and would have simply said "sorry" we can't find it.

This was definitely not the case with Marilla, she turned part of the store upside down and found the remaining item. I ended up purchasing both items and thanked Marilla for her commitment to "customer service".

Retailers take note, these representatives are your frontline workers first to meet your customers. They are becoming a dying breed. Marilla Costa and her actions that morning were truly remarkable and very professional.

A thousand shut-outs to her and her dedication to real "customer service"!!

Rona said over 90 days buy another one when Contacted

With all the craftsman tools I have this is the last craftsman I buy

No service whatsoever web site is useless to offer a dealer for warranty repair

Rona- Val Des Monts.

I went to our local Rona store in Val Des Monts to purchase many flower plants that were advertised in their flyer. When I arrived at their so called garden centre there wasn't employee to be found. It took 20 minutes for one to show up. There were no advertised flowered plants that I wanted that were advertised in the flyer. When I asked their employee if they were sold out and if they were ordering more he said they were not sold out and that they haven't arrived yet. There were no prices on any of the plants but I did find a few that I liked and wanted a price. He said that he would check on the price and that he would be right back. 20 minutes later he came back and said that the 2 very small plants that I was interested in were $8.00 each. When I told him that they were listed in their flyer as 2 for $8.00 he said he would check for me and that he would be right back. 15 minutes later he came back and said yes they are 2 for $8.00. When I went to pay for them the cashier charged me $8.00 for each plant. When I bought it to her attention that they were 2 for eight dollars she seemed annoyed and said that she would check. She got on the phone an called the associate who was in charge of the mini garden centre. 10 minutes later it was confirmed that she had made a mistake and charged me the correct price of 2 for $8.00. When I asked her when the order for the flowered plants that were listed for 2 for $5.00 she went for the phone again. I stopped her and said that I had no time for more waiting. Total time spent at Rona in Val Des Monts, Quebec was over an hour for 2 small plants and one big headache. Never going to this store again for anything. I would much prefer to drive to gatineau for much better service and products. I'm surprised that Claude....( the manager ) hires such inept employees. If I could rate this store and its employees using a negative integer, I most certainly would.

Pricing signs for flower earth was…

Pricing signs for flower earth was changed once we went to pay. Director said that the sale sign was never there and said we were lying.
He was a racist and he just wanted to feel superior instead of agreeing that the price signs were misplaced. To assume we would want to profit for 20$ difference is insulting and they should be fired.

Brampton Bovaird location Worst customer service. It takes 4 clerks to service one customer while another employee watches on just ignoring other customers waiting in line. Rona this is why you’re going out of business. Your employees don’t want to work.

Walk in to get some assistance and…

Walk in to get some assistance and right off the Bat(Manager Matt) and Shawn was there to greet me. The thing I love is that Matt recommended me something to rid of my ant but he actually recommended me the cheapest and yet still the most effective product to use. Says alot about Matt. He was more looking out for me and finding a solution for my problem. Both guys carried a great sense of humor and great customer services skills. Thanks again guys!

Rona must be going out of business…

Delivery of sink said 3-5 days on website. It’s a month late and tracking status says processing. Called three times, operator lied about the distribution company and wouldn’t let me contact the e distribution warehouse myself. I don’t see how Rona can go on like this without going out of business. This is a painful and slow death.

Lied about delivery and refused to issue refund

I ordered a medicine cabinet from rona.ca in December 2022. It was marked as 'delivered' on Jan 12, but I never got the package. I called Rona on Jan 18, and they said it would take them 5-20 days to trace the package. More than one month passed, and no one contacted me. I emailed again to ask for a refund, and they ignored my request. Instead, they said their "vendor" said they could not reach my number. It turns out Rona gave the "vendor" my number with a 1 added to the front, while cutting off the last digit. That is just incompetence. They are now ignoring my emails to ask for the refund.

If there was an option for zero stars

If there was an option for zero stars I would choose it. Gave the Rona brand one more chance in an effort to buy local. Asked for help In picking out hinges at London store. Was given the wrong hinges and pieces that didn’t even go together. Tried to return to my local Rona in Goderich. They would take them back as they ‘are private owned and not part of corporate’. That’s a new twist on brand. RONA is not RONA. Buyer beware.
