Are there real people on this site?

I used Roomgo to post an ad of my flat and paid for an upgraded membership. I didn’t receive a single response in 2 months which seemed odd, I received several responses on the other website I posted on. There seem to be a lot of faceless profiles on this site and I can’t help but wonder whether they are real people.

I appreciate Roomgo’s response and good to hear that the profiles are managed in that way. I’m no longer using the site as I have found a suitable tenant elsewhere.

Complete rip off !

Really disappointed and feel thoroughly ripped off ! Advertised a room in the most stunning apartment in Manchester at an excellent price and had just two people contact me (both couples when I specifically requested no couples)

In two weeks there were only a handful of people who were new and looking for a property.

As a result I didn’t find anybody to rent my room - instead I advertised on a local Facebook group for free and was inundated with people ! Found somebody within 2 days

Don’t waste your money on this site.

I have used this site when it was…Easyroommate!!!

I have used this site when it was Easyroommate and it was the only one of it's kind then, If you did not get a good response after a month you would get the following month for free which helped to get a lodger,
Possibly as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic and due to more competition. Roomgo is a less successful platform to use than others and I will be less inclined to use it in the future!

Scam

Um, I payed for premium and it's like a ghost town. There is literally no one available. I searched rooms in ten different cities and it came up blank. This is a scam. Roomgo, I'll edit my review if the issue is fixed or I get my money back.

I have been using the website since…

I have been using the website since beginning of 2016 successfully. I have met great people via the website and my experience with customer service was very good; they are responding to emails promptly in less than an hour meaning that the moderator is on top and continuously checking to ensure that requests being answered
Definitely recommend to register

I contacted Roomgo customer service…

I contacted Roomgo customer service regarding an issue I had with payment for a Premium membership for my single bedroom to rent.

I was met with a prompt and friendly customer service staff at Roomgo who listened to my concerns and helped me every step of the way.

They even threw in a free complimentary 10 day Premium membership for my troubles. I very much appreciate their help and effective communication.

Scam?

Scam I cant believe it's a real website.
No one got in touch. Lots of ads for tenants looking for a room, prepared to pay £2000 or £4000. Total makebelieve.

ROOMGO REVIEW? Let's just get straight to the point!

Let's just get straight to the point... ROOMGO ARE A WASTE OF SPACE!!!

I advertised my room on this site for the first time, thinking I'll give them a try... having (successfully) used another well-known site in the past.

To say I got a 'slow and frustrating service' is an understatement.
I've been searching for a simple customer service TELEPHONE NUMBER for weeks now and, surprise-surprise... there isn't one listed ANYWHERE on the net!!!

What 'reputable company' would choose to ONLY provide an Email address rather than a telephone number too?
ANSWER... one that is afraid their 'customers' will give them an earful!

ROOMGO staff... if you read this review and want to respond with any care or respect to your CUSTOMERS, please advise a telephone number to PROVE you are a legitimate company!

MISSION DAMNED IMPOSSIBLE

NOT ONE notification or email alert which matched my property, area, preferences, or ANYTHING, was sent during the 3 months my room-to-let was advertised. There's only ONE site that can fill your 'Spare Room' vacancies, and it AIN'T Roomgo 😡

Not impressed

Not impressed. Ive already paid for a membership on another site, but figured i would post a free advertisement on Roomgo. Today i get a message alert stating someone is interested in my room, but surprise surprise, my basic membership means i can not contact them, nor can they contact me. Nothing i can do to progress the interest. Refusing to pay nearly £40 to follow up what might just be a fake marketing ploy to seperate me from my hard earned cash. No thanks Roomgo. I'll stick with other sites.

Not impressed so far

I am a landlord looking for tenants, I recently signed up as a Premium member hoping to maximise my chances of finding tenants quickly. I posted my add and asked my siblings to check it out, they did - but my accounts says ‘there have been no viewings’, that is just inaccurate and makes me wonder the credibility of website as a whole. Also, I am disappointed that as a default the newest adds appear on the top of of search results list, shouldn’t premium members posts always appear on the top?

I am also truly sorry to hear that you still found 0 views on your ad. I understand how this can be frustrating, please be aware that we are keen to help you get better visibility on the website. Finally, kindly note that when you upgrade your account, your ad does get better visibility on the website. However, as it is the case of all other websites, our ads are classified according to their publication date. This means that new ads go to the top and less recent ones go lower down the search lists.

DO NOT PAY FOR UPGRADES - NOT WORTH IT AT ALL !!

Firstly, you can't contact anyone if you have basic account, so you need to pay to send messages. Which i did. I sent lots of messages and not even one response as basic members can't send messages . So, you upgrade in order to send messages , but if they don't upgrade as well you won't get any replies!!!
So basically to be able to communicate everyone need to upgrade, which they don't! Majority are basic members!
Roomgo also sends misleading messages to people with basic account , saying that someone asked to check their profile , so you'll need to upgrade to contact them!!

I tried to change my ad details online, but web doesn't allow me to progress , so I emailed yesterday . I was told they will update and asked me for details. I sent everything to "IDA" and today , my Ad still the same . No changes !

So what type of service is this ??

PLEASE DO NOT PAY A PENNY TO ANY UPGRADE AS THIS WEB IT'S SCAM !!

Kindly note that basic members are able to contact Basic and Premium members.
Indeed, we have a free option for our basic users who wish to contact another basic member without upgrading their account. This is the ‘interest messages” option and it allows basic members to send automated messages to other basic members to show their interest in their ads.
Besides, basic members can communicate with Premium Members by exchanging messages and contact information.

Please also note that it is not mandatory to pay a membership to use our website.
As a matter of fact, when you upgrade your account, you are able to contact and be contacted by ALL the members (Basic and Premium) on our website. In other words, Basic members do not need to upgrade to respond to your message when you are a Premium member.

Moreover, I would like to inform you that the main purpose of our email alerts is to help you with your search. We send you automated emails to inform you about your new matches, new messages, members who have viewed your ad and updates of your account and membership.
We do not in any way try to mislead you or push you to subscribe to our memberships

Finally, I would also like to inform you that we operate 7/7 from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
I have checked your exchanges with our customer service and could see that my colleagues did reply to your email in a reasonable time frame within our working hours. Furthermore, they have helped you with your request and your ad is already posted with photos on the site.

find and read content carefuly

I had feedback from Roomgo representative and explained how their system works. Its fair for that kind of system to operate. The bottom line of outcome is whether that system can help me to find the flatmate. So far, I have no luck to get in touch with any of their list candidates coz they are all basic member and so am I.

charge. You can post your ad for free and all our users don’t have to pay to join the website.

Also, you can contact Basic Members by sending them interest messages
(automated messages to let them know that you are interested in their Ad) and you can
contact Premium Members directly by exchanging messages and contact
information.

Kang, please note that Premium Membership is an optional feature that facilitates
your search as it enables you to be in direct contact with all users of the website,
you can still contact users as mentioned above and we make sure to suggest this
Premium Membership to our users but it is not mandatory.

Bad service

Lots of people with large budgets and no pictures - very suspicious.

I paid for the premium membership thinking it would help with my search - out of 3 months I had x1 view of my ad!

With the daily emails it seems like they have lots of people on their database seeking apartments - but it just doesn't add up.

I emailed them regarding this, asking for a refund. I have received no reply!
