This is my first time using this service and I am very hopeful it all works out the way it’s supposed to. I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t!

SCAM!!!! Customer Beware.

Customer Beware….If zero Stars were an option I would have selected zero. Routes scams customers. They lie right to your face. This is the worst rental car company I have ever experienced. They charge for daily tolls in Orlando when I told the agent I wanted to get my own toll pass. This was not an option I was told. They also wanted to charge daily insurance when I already had my own insurance coverage for rental cars. Again not an option for the customer. Stay far away from this company as the up charges are more than the daily car rate itself.

I had an extremely frustrating…

I had an extremely frustrating experience with Routes Car Rental in Sanford, FL. I booked and prepaid for a midsize car with unlimited mileage through Expedia for a family vacation. When we arrived to pick up the car, the office was completely unattended—no staff, no communication, and no one answering the phones.

My husband had to go searching just to find an employee. When he finally did, the customer service was shockingly poor. The employee had a dismissive, unhelpful attitude and then informed us of completely different terms than what we booked: we were told we could not leave the state, were limited to only 50 miles per day, and required to put down a $2,000 deposit.

None of these restrictions were disclosed at the time of booking. These conditions made it impossible to proceed with our vacation plans. We were essentially left stranded after paying in full in advance.

To make matters worse, both Expedia and Routes are now refusing to issue a refund. This feels deceptive and unfair. I would strongly caution anyone considering renting from this location—what you book is NOT what you get.

TOXIC ENVIRONMENT

I had a disappointing experience with management one of them is Jasdeep. A good leader should communicate with respect and professionalism, but that was often missing here. The way instructions and feedback were delivered sometimes felt harsh and dismissive, which affected team morale. I hope management can work on improving their communication style and show more consideration toward employees.

Unfortunately there is no 0 star which…

Unfortunately there is no 0 star which that is what they deserve. Worst company to rent from. They advertise a low cost of 250$ a week when I get to location it would cost me another 500$. The staff is unhelpful, they don't know anything and any questions you have whether on phone or in person they brush you off by telling you to email company at customercare because they don't know the answer. My car had a small little chip the size of a fly they told me they had to replace the windshield and charged me 1400$, they took advantage of fact i had my own insurance, because if I would of taken theirs they never would of claimed that. Then I asked for open and closed rental agreement they refuse to give it to me even thoug I need to present that to my insurance company for claim. They said its company policy they don't give that paperwork. Not to mention when we got to airport they made us wait 2 hours for a shuttle to come and pick us up to bring us to rental car company. Worst comlany ever and scammers avoid at all costs.

Bad experience

I was supposed to pick up car at 1130 at Atlanta airport and due to flight delay, the I reached around 130. But their outlet was closed and customer center rudely said that they cannot do anything and I should wait in the airport up to 6 AM next day and then also they don't know if a car would be available to me.
Never ever it was told to me that their location is not open for 24 hours

This felt like a straight-up scam

This felt like a straight-up scam.

Booked online via Klook (Europcar as provider) with a prepaid price that clearly included insurance and all fees.
At pickup, it’s a different company (Routes), and suddenly:
* “Insurance isn’t included”
* New made-up fees appear (including a “county crossing fee”)
* Price no longer matches what you already paid

Completely different terms than what was sold online.

No contract provided, no real option to walk away — just pressure at the counter.

I contacted Klook three times asking for a refund and warned I’d file formal complaints. Still unresolved.

This looks like a bait-and-switch setup designed to extract extra charges when you have no choice.

AVOID, AVOID.

We booked a car rental with this terrible company 100% do NOT recommend!!

We booked a car rental with this company, when we arrived at the rental place they refused to rent us the car as we didn't have a return flight booked. When we asked to be refunded for our rental they also refused. Not to mention they aren't at the airport and you have to shuttle to their location. I'd suggest to stay away!!! We went back to the airport and ended up booking with sixt and had the best experience and the most helpful rep!
