I’m extremely disappointed with both product quality, installation and overall service

I’m extremely disappointed with both the product quality and the installation. Despite repeatedly requesting a visit to inspect the problem, no one has bothered to attend my property.

The installation was poorly carried out, and the entrance door itself was faulty, allowing water to enter easily. This isn’t just a sealing issue — the door was not fitted properly from the start. As a result, rainwater has been getting into my outdoor shed, and several of my belongings have now been damaged. This is completely unacceptable.

The service I received falls far below what any customer should reasonably expect. I would strongly advise others to think carefully before purchasing from this company.

Firstly what a joke,I will not be…

Firstly what a joke,I will not be dealing with this company again, they delivered the wrong item, waited for a replacement, well over a week, driver rang ahead to say have a collection,I said no I had notification of a delivery but no collection,he replied again sorry collection, eventually he admitted it was a replacement delivery and collection, after installing the border fence we discovered the last two pieces are a totally different colour and inferior quality, customer service gave me the rubbish it is a different batch of wood, well I might be a woman but do not treat me like I am stupid,it is a couple of sections that look like they have been stored outside and just grabbed to make the packet up,as it was ordered via the Bradfords site was told have to return it through them, well as stated installed nearly all until discovered the last two are rubbish quality,Bradfords do not deliver this product, you order via them but Rowlinson deliver it,I will not been doing this again, read the reviews for yourself!!!!

Don't waste your money!

I would not recommend anyone buys wooden garden furniture from here as it will drop to bits in no time at all. I paid £500 for a quality Oak bench, I was hoping it would last me into my elder years.....not a chance! After 6 years of preserving the wood it finally dropped to bits this this year and I ended up taking it to the tip!

Missing Pieces, delivered in a day but refused to collect as quickly despite been left blocking access for wheelchair user to leave home

We ordered on 24th it was delivered on 25th missing pieces. It was also delivered to the bottom of the access to my back door where my wheelchair ramp is put down to leave the property. This wouldn't have been much of an issue had it been complete as we had someone available to put it up. But when we rang to ask about missing pieces they told us it would be 5 working days baring in mind we are coming up to the weekend. So instead we asked them to take it back for a refund. This is where despite knowing it was blocking access for me to exit my home with my wheelchair they insisted that they would just email the courier who could take 3 days to reply. With a date to collect. They refused to call them directly. We ended up doing that ourselves and DB Freelance turned up within hours. Rowlinson however made it clear once they sell a product they don't want to deal with after sales. Their attitudes stank and they just couldn't grasp the seriously of someone who suffers seizures and relies on a wheelchair to exit the home and get to hospital not being able to get out in an emergency despite the fact I'd already had two seizures that day.

To beat all that it was sent in 100's of separate parts nothing secured together nothing labeled only way to work out what piece was what was to physically measure them. Even then some were overcut and had we had to put them together would have needed cutting down.

I'd never ever buy from Rowlinson and if you wish to see proof of where they left it see my Google review. Or look at my trust pilot profile pic.

Very poor experience

Very poor experience. Delivery was dumped on drive way. Next thing I note is I'm sent a copy of Proof of Delivery that was signed for by, I assume, the driver (and not me, the Customer) and a Comment section I would have gladly filled in if I got the chance. Fraud? It also included photographs of my personal vehicle, which I felt was an invasion of my personal privacy, when a photo of the product with door number and door in view would suffice. The item (Bondi BBQ Shelter) that I had purchased, apparently new, had clearly sat outside in their storage facility for some years. It was dirty and covered in grime. Closer inspections showed splitting in some of the timber and the accessories supplied (screws etc.) a good 1/3rd was missing (plastic packaging perished and fell out one presumes). Some had rusted. The final build was adequate albeit I needed to dismantle some pre-built components as they weren't assembled correctly in the first place. Will need a good power washing to clean and further wood treatment. Luckily I'm pretty skilled and tooled up to rectify their errors. I've complained but felt after reading some reviews this seemed common amongst other people. My advice is to avoid this firm, and had I read the reviews first, I would have likely built my own shelter for a fraction this pile of wood cost me. Very dodgy practice IMHO.

Plumley 6-seater hardwood table & chairs

I purchased a Plumley 6-seater hardwood dining set at the end of March, although did not put it into use for at least a month. It arrived promptly and easy to assemble, looks good too.

However, the table has faded very badly within just a few months use, whilst the chairs still look good as new.

I contacted the supplier I bought this product through and they contacted Rowlinson directly - but they didn't want to know. All they would say is it is natural weathering and it needed to be treated with a good furniture oil.

I take on board the items will weather, but after just a couple of months is very poor. It seems the table was not well treated at the manufacturing stage and I am now left having to pay for oil to paint it and finding the time to paint it, even if I can even find some the same colour.

Very poor customer service and would not wish to give this company any future business.

Avoid this company

Avoid this company - I purchased a 6 seater dining table and chairs last year and one of the chair legs has snapped. I informed the company I purchased it from online and they contacted them - they have given the option to purchase another chair. They will not replace it as its out of warranty.

This is less than a year and a half old and only had 16 month of use (the majority of that being in the garage in the autumn/winter/spring months). They even had the audacity to state this as 'accidental damage' - i have since assured them the chair was only ever used as intended, a chair.

Do they expect that I have been hosting WWE style event in my garden and this was an instrument I employed to usurp the previous holder of the Championship Belt?

Morons.

I bought a Rowlinson Overlap Wall Store…

I bought a Rowlinson Overlap Wall Store to replace my previous Rowlinson Wallstore expecting it to be a like for like replacement. The previous one had given me 20 years good service. Well, this new one isn't a patch quality-wise on the old one. Poor quality timber with timber so rough on the side panels that it flakes in huge splintered pieces together with gaps in the wood, mis-shapen panels, flimsy hasp, paper thin felt - I could go on. Because the frame is so weak, you can not get the shed true. Such flimsy construct. I contacted Rowlinson's via Robert Dyas and after much to-ing and fro-ing they have refused to replace the product. They initially sent their display team to look at the shed who offered to replace it with a shiplap version & I would pay the difference which I accepted. After several weeks of chasing as no further contact received, Rowlinsons denied knowledge of that conversation and agreement. I was then told that I had forfeited the right to a replacement for not accepting a like for like replacement at the time of the visit but how was I supposed to know that it was a take it or leave ultimatum when the Rowlinson's team said it wouldn't be a problem to replace with another version and was left with the expectation that a solution to replace had been agreed. I am now left with a shoddy, poor quality wallstore / shed and £305 down. You can't trust the guarantee behind their products and they don't keep their word. Buyer beware.

Bought a small log store from this…

Bought a small log store from this company …absolutely dreadful..
It arrives flat packed part assembled and, in my case damaged.
The parts and the assembly are shockingly bad.
The wood used is substandard consequently when you try and put it together the screws split the frame.
Nothing is square or true and as mentioned the roof was damaged on arrival.
Aesthetically the preservative treatment is uneven with heavy staining in some areas and less in others.
This is not a cheap product, do not make the mistake of buying a log store from this company.

Poor Quality - Avoid

We have a tripple wheelie Bin storage unit and the lids on all three bins have al broken at exactly the same place on each lid. I have raised this with their customer service who claimed they didn't have any other complaints and weren't aware of any problems. Once put through to their sales team, they did make reference to having complaints from customers but haven't accepted that there's a design floor. Instead of paying a smaller amount for replacement slats to repair the broken elements (new wood not matching with weathered), we have decided to spend more money on a new brand which is built to last - the quality of what we have is not fit for purpose and the company refuse to acknowldge that. Hope that helps others concidering this brand, but their overall Trustpilot score is already at 'poor'...

They might be persuaded to improve.

I bought a Wrenbury round Top Arch from this company some years back and was happy with the product . A few days ago I decided I would like another to match the existing arch . When the package arrived last Tuesday I found that parts of the fixing kit were missing . I didn’t buy it directly from Rowlinson so I reported the situation to the vender . They told me that it had been supplied directly from Rowlinson but they would raise the matter with the supplier. On Wednesday I decided to check Rowlinson (Rowgar) on Trustpilot . I was somewhat concerned at the poor reviews so I phoned their customer service service department and explained the situation and expressed concern about the poor Trustpilot reviews. They said people only complain on these websites so they were not overly concerned. I said that was not my experience and was told a fixing kit would be sent immediately. I said I would be happy to put up an appropriate review if it arrived. Well the complete kit arrived today , Friday. This was a good response and the missing 5th star was to reflect the incomplete kit and the lack of regard for customer reviews. I have also written to the company to thank them for the rapid response and to encourage them to reconsider their attitude too Trustpilot.

Potting bench quality

Potting bench - Such poor quality, yes it’s tongue and groove timber, but a lot of the tongues aren’t actually in the grooves. Looked like it was thrown together by someone on a speed bonus. When unpacked most of the woodwork just fell apart, no proper ring nails, just skinny staples. Absolute rubbish, I’d be ashamed to put my name to it !

Dreadful

I placed an order on the 6th of April , for two garden creation benches . The order totalled over £600. I received a text on the 4th of May to say they were on their way . It’s now June 22nd and I’ve still not recurved them . I’ve emailed Rowlinsons numerous times but they don’t reply . I’ve phoned up dozens of times and go nowhere. I’m pretty cross , to say the least .

Don't even think about buying a product from Rowlinsons Garden productss garden shed…

I bought a large Rowlinsons garden shed from Normans (Jersey). Having paid over £2,000 for it I expected it to be of reasonable quality and reasonably carefully packed and delivered. Because I was buying this from Normans, I did not check the Rowlinsons reviews on Trust Pilot before placing my order. That was a big mistake.

The shed compried well over 300 seperate pieces of untreated timer (plus preassembled doors and windows and fixings) that have to be treated and painted before assembly. It took a long time to carefully unpack, store in a dry area and treat and paint the parts that were delivered in a plastic coating on a form of pallet. There were assembly instructions enclosed plus a parts packing list with spaces to record that Rowlinsons had checked the parts were complete and a space to record the date and signature of the packer. The packing list had, however, not been completed.

It soon became evident that quite a large number of the wood parts were damaged. Some of the damage you could probably live with (for example many, many split tongue sections) however there was one crucial panel which holds the roof beams that had been broken completely at the end and several panels were smashed (one of which had the plastic packing material smashed into it by something sharp). As all of these timbers were very long (3m+) I decided to live with the damage and try and repair things myself. Unfortunately once I had finally carefully unpacked and treated everything and started the construction I discovered that one part of wood (only 300mm long - but part of the interlocking building mechnism so crucial to being able to build above height level) was missing (15 parts had been delivered instead of 16). Had the packing been properly checked by Rowlinsons this would probably not have happenned, but I thought that maybe they would therefore get me the missing part quite quickly, as I had already started to assemble the shed and they don't recommend it be left open to the elements. Unfortunately although I was lead to believe the part would be sent almost immediately it was sent to a storage warehouse and I found that it would take more than a week to get to me. I therefore had to get a part specially made, which cost a fortune for such a small piece of wood. Had Rowlinsons posted the part, I would have got it in a few days.

I then also discovered that the interior fixings on one of the two windows was rusting extensively. One wondow was in perfect conditiion and the other was covered in rust and therefore must have been packed in that condition. I am hoping that the fixings will be replaced, having sent photos of the damage, but it is really annoying that Rowlinsons are happy to package and send damaged products to customers.

As I said above, had I read the Trust Pilot reviews before buying this shed I would never have bought a Rowlinsons product. Almost all of the recent reviews are totally negative and many of the reviewers have experienced problems similar to mine. This cannot be a coincidence. To me it is clear that Rowlinsons don't care what customers think and are happy to ship items which haven't been properly checked and which are not properly protected from damage in transit. I suspect they assume that, as new sheds are bought by customers relatively infrequently, they needn't worry about repeat business.

In summary, based upon my experience, and the many other recent reviews on this website, I wouldn't recommend anyone even thinks about buying a product from Rowlinsons.

Poor customer service

Was given a Rowgar mini greenhouse for my birthday bought from Robert Dyas, arrived poorly packed but not damaged. Easy to assemble and looked to be fairly solid.
Two weeks later wood edging to one of the top windows developed a small crack, email and photo to this business only resulted in an auto reply. Two weeks further and a large split appeared in the wood edging to the other window, again a photo and email only produced an auto response.
Robert Dyas now involved but I would not recommend Rowgar products or their customer service.

Wouldn't buy a Rowlinsons product again!

Our garden Bench arrived in parts, loose- in a cardboard box that had split open. A dowel was later found in the delivery truck who kindly came out of his way to bring it to us.
The bench has several marks from rubbing against each other.
My husband who luckily is good at diy noticed that the front of the seat was 1/2" too long.
We contacted Rowlinsons and sent photos of the problem- they said it had to go to their technical dept.
As we needed it 3 days later for an anniversary gift my husband decided to adapt it. He spent at least an extra 2 hours cutting the front of bench altering the seat support which meant re drilling several holes . Several of the other screw holes had to be moved to make it all fit together and the dowels( which are not mentioned at all on the instructions) had to be sanded to make them fit.
We confronted Rowlinsons who said they would not compensate us for our time spent making good a bench that was otherwise unusable. They only ever offer parts.
We decided that we would get them to send up a new seat for the bench- not that we would take apart the bench as think it would have broken but have made a table with the wood!
This was not a cheap bench ( £270) and are disappointed by the quality and Rowlinsons attitude to their customers.
