We did not use a tutor for our 11 plus journey so I am so glad that we found the resources from RSL. You receive very good quality original papers along with school past papers and they are always accompanied by very thorough answers and working. This was especially useful for maths as I found it harder to teach.

Robert himself is always happy to help and has always answered queries that I've had along the way. I really feel that this personal approach is very unique and it certainly made me feel like I had a safety net when I found a topic hard to explain to our child.

Combined with the fantastic free lessons that Robert has on YouTube and his excellent books, the whole RSL experience really has been a lifeline for us.

We have enjoyed every paper and I want to believe they made the difference in my son's practice. There are some challenging papers with difficult questions which may not happen, but it is a good exercise for the brain. He passed the 11+ and we are very proud of his achievement.

Robert guides students to exam success in the best way — through structured thinking and practical tips, not rote learning and rumours.

In fact, he does a bit more than that, through his videos and especially his marking services for creative writing. He helps kids make their writing more truly effective. Their stories become more interesting and believable, and their arguments are stronger, with more support and thought.

Such thoughtful writing is great for test performance (since examiners are not robots but care about the meaning of the words). But it will also help kids with *any* study and work they go on to in the future.

Content of the books and excellent services

I came across Robert's videos on youtube and I was hooked! The clear explanations are amazing. I then signed up to his website and received papers every week. My son worked through these and we looked at the explanations and answers together. Often finding sneaky shortcuts that he could have taken to cut his calculation time down.We really appreciate the wealth of experience the different papers have given us and recommend him highly to anyone taking the 11+.

Robert is just amazing, he offered us the life line plus which was extremely generous of him. He is very energetic and entry for my daughter to watch and keeps the children attention when teaching online.

Nothing really compares to Lomax’s material- I have (almost) tried it all. I particularly value the really detailed answer break down - which for written comprehension is like nothing on the market.

It is amazing, great work but to improve videos of solutions for extra understanding.

This is an outstanding service for preparation - it was the best set of resources we came across of the plethora out there.

The RSL lifeline programme of papers with answers sent every week were invaluable for our child. The material ranges from moderate to challenging; but all of it is realistic and very useful. In particular, the detailed answer section was worked out answers to the questions elaborating multiple methods (if applicable), and notes on how to answer similar Qs, patterns to look out for, or how the examiner may mark it - reading it was like having a tutor talk to you! There was real breadth - different types of comprehension, creative writing, maths challenges, or reasoning question archetypes. I know the reasoning portion is being redesigned going forward - adding variety to the later NVR papers in programme will make this even better.
There are also some really good "How to" type guidance on the site, plus a range of videos - the guidance is extremely helpful for parents who're unfamiliar with the process and are trying to figure out how best their child can prepare; or for kids to review videos on a particular topic.
Robert is very responsive to any issues or questions, and conducts his business with real integrity - which has been really refreshing in an area where there are a lot of charlatans capitalising on parental anxiety. He's shared additional material on particular areas where we thought our child needed additional work.
We've used one of his books - and all above apply to this too.

Thank you so much for your amazing helpful resources and your creative writing books which inspired my child. I really appreciate it and without it I don't think we would have been in the position to now be accepting our first choice grammar school. My son is over the moon.

First we met him on "Easy 11 plus". That made her to understand deeply each subjects. Robert's explanation and choice of example problem was excellent.

Then we joined "11 Plus lifeline" for past exams detailed explanation and for personal feedback of her work. His weekly material was great and his voice feedback was articulate and really constructive, more over he tried to stretch her. She was happy to take his challenge.

On top of his voice feedback, a little video feedback in the end for summary made her feel like he knows and understand her as if he is just next to her. He kept motivating her to redo her work to perfection, as she can replay anytime and where she want. We adults also felt easy and confident to follow her up.

Also, he swiftly answered all her questions about his advice.

His service's good point is not only those. Other best point is that she did not have to give up her hobbies, like sports, music, language, and play dates, as she can do the work anytime we have time.

She passed all exams, and she got what she wants with having more motivation to learn.

I found Robert Lomax from a recommendation. I personally found him to be one of the few to stretch my child and truly bring out their best. Even as a high achiever his help made a huge difference and allowed them to attain even greater depths and higher heights with their 11-plus preparation, knowledge and confidence.

My son loved the online videos , learnt a lot and very interactive . Mock papers help stretch and develop the kids ready for 11 plus .

I Know Robert from his comprehension books. These books have very useful, detailed explanations, which you can work with your child. I did not use private tutor, but with his book, My girl knows how to approach questions effectively and write answers to the points.

His 11Plus Lifeline is another great experience for us! We used just for a few months but my girl found them very helpful. He answers my emails really quickly, normally within a few hours! you can ask him anything relating to your child's exam and he is willing to helping in all he can. His weekly materials are very close to the real exam. It gave my girl lots of challenging topics to work through as well. His marking feedback not only tells you how she's doing comparing to others but also gave her personalized tips.

overall, I am very happy to use his service and book. This is highly recommended!

For a kid who does not go for tuitions, RSL has been a great support for both my son and me as a parent.
