Dreadful company to deal with. They sell holiday lets to customers that are not suitable, not safe and do not have adequate facilities. Then they don't respond to emails. Will be taking this much further to claim a refund and compensation.

Place was not as described at all. Was so unsafe for all members of the family, no matter their ability. The pool was inaccessible for the kids, photos made it look much different to how it was. The internet did not work at all, was unable to send or receive emails or even use WhatsApp. There was no lighting outside making it dangerous.
The distance to the nearest amenities are completely wrong, as the off- road dirt track is a lot longer. Inaccessible to walk anywhere from the villa due to this track also.
Also, the company keep trying to report this review to get it removed, which is unacceptable as it is true and nothing has been fabricated.

Shameful company selling holiday lets for 15 people, that don’t even have an oven as advertised, with no mention of the steep, uneven and unsafe access to and around the property and pool.

Umbria del bonnette in Andalucia
Very disconcerting dealing with the villa owner
Insisted on cash handover at local garage, his niece then acted as translator and told us to follow them to the villa
First alarm bells rang when we drove up what is probably one of the worst windy steep access roads I have ever been on. One of our vehicles was damaged on the way up what felt like a mountain
It was definitely not accessible by foot
The pool was accessed up a further slope and therefore not accessible to two of our party and no children could be left unattended as there is no view from the villa
One child got locked in a room as the handle broke off
The kitchen was not suitable for a party of 12 as the only oven was a table top grill
There was a rusty BBQ which was not usable
There was no outside lighting except one bulb so outside was inaccessible at night
The place is very rural and not suitable for a family holiday
The WiFi didn’t not work and there was no phone signal
If you want an off grid experience with very basic facilities this is the one for you

Stayed (for 1 night out of 14) at Unbria del bonnet in Constantina. On arrival we were met by the owner whom we followed to the premises. We drove up the hillside, the terrain was horrendous, so much so we damaged our car. We arrived with 6 hungry children and were unable to properly cook the pizza we bought for them as there was no oven, a microwave sized “oven” was all we had and had to cut up the pizza to fit it in. It took 2 hrs to feed the kids! Steps everywhere and uneven, steep “paths” to the pool made it impossible for one of our party to use.
Most of the light bulbs were
out, the showers didn’t drain, the WiFi didn’t work, no lighting out doors, the “bbq” was shocking. The air conditioning, available in the lounge only, was older than me. We had to leave after one night, it was neither safe nor practical to stay there.

Villa Umbria del Bonete - I booked through this company in March for a stay commencing on 18.7.25. The villa was not as described at all. The location was poor, and totally inaccessible on foot. The access road was unsuitable for most vehicles and our car was damaged on the way in. There was no outside lighting and we felt very unsafe. There was no oven to cater for 12 people, and just a tabletop grill which was not big enough for one pizza. We stayed one night and then left the property. I have contacted Ruralidays regarding this and requested a refund as the description is totally misleading, but they have refused this. Please do not book through this company.
EDITED due to response from Ruralidays:
The description of the villa is inaccurate and misleading. It does not state that the pool is accessed up a steep slope or steps. It does not state that the access road is up a steep slope and unsuitable for walking or most vehicles. It does not state that there is only a tabletop mini grill which is inadequate to cater for parties of up to 15, which apparently the villa can accommodate. It clearly states on the description that there is "an independent kitchen equipped with complete kitchenware, microwave, oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher and washing machine". There is no oven in the property, and we had no way of catering for our party, which included 6 children. These issues were raised with the owner and yourselves before we departed the property. I advised you and the owner that we would be leaving as the villa was not safe or suitable for our party. It is unreasonable for you to expect me to remain at the property and put my family at risk while you look into these issues raised, when there is little you can do to make the property suitable and safe.

We’ve just been told-only 3 weeks before our flight, that the villa we booked back in March has been double booked. Despite emailing over a week ago to confirm our booking and arrival details, we’re now left without accommodation for our family holiday. There has been no concern shown for the additional cost, stress, or inconvenience this has caused. Appalling service. Completely unacceptable

We have just had the perfect week in this beautiful, spotlessly clean villa. We travel to this area regularly because we love the area of Andalusia and have stayed in several villas in the same area of Torrox hills. This villa is perfectly laid out inside and is fully equipped with all you will need. The outside space is even better, with lots of options for sun or shade, and a lovely pool that is in the sun all day. There is a lovely shaded dining area alongside a super BBQ area, as well as a nice outside shower and a utility/loo area too. The views are simply stunning mixed with wonderful peace, quiet and privacy. Jesus and Veronica are just the loveliest of people, very warm and friendly. They gave us lots of really useful information and explained all we’d need to make the most of our week. Torrox, Nerja and Frigiliana are all very easily accessed from the villa, as is Competa if you want to head in the other direction. For us this villa was the perfect find, and we are actively looking for a further week later in the year. Quite simply it was 10 out of 10 for us. 🏴

Booking was easy and quick, looking forward to going on our holiday next year but with the reassurance that we have free cancellation if we need it.

Jose the host is very attentive. We spent our mornings hiking the hills and mountains, afternoons and evenings playing in the pool, sunbathing and bbqing. The perfect relaxing holiday. The property was clean, equipped with everything we needed and the garden is beautiful.

The ease of booking this villa through ruralidays put my mind at rest. Such clear information about the villa and the area. This was our first family holiday with all three of our children so I was a little nervous! Rafa the host was excellent, touching base with us at exactly the right times offering more help if needed so was just the right balance! He then met us in the village and showed us to the villa. When we arrived it was just the wow factor! The views are incredible, the villa is immaculate, the pool is lovely! Just everything about this place made our holiday just perfect! The outside dining area is awesome we didn’t use the kitchen at all. Every inch of the villa is spotless. And a visit to Rafa’s restaurant down the road is a must, excellent food, surroundings and service! The village is a picturesque traditional Spanish town which is exactly what we wanted. The villa was so quiet and not overlooked. It really was perfect and I wouldn’t hesitate to book again!

Great villa, very well organised. No problems. Super friendly host always available via WhatsApp for any issues. Only tiny issue was the double bed was very small and not overly comfortable for two people.

We spent two wonderful weeks at this holiday home in Alozaina . The home had every facility we needed and was superbly equipped inside and out . We wanted for nothing during the stay. Our trips into Alozaina were mainly to absorb the local culture, buy supplies from the Dia Supermarket and just enjoy walking up and down in a beautiful village . However most of our time was spent at the home . The swimming pool is perfect and eating and drinking outside , with the fantastic views of the olive trees and the mountains in the background , was a joy . I can’t recommend this beautiful home enough . The rooms were spacious and comfortably furnished and the large picture window in the kitchen/ dining / living room provided a breathtaking view of the mountains from the inside . I’d recommend hiring a car as I think without one , walks to the supermarket and back with bags of shopping would be onerous . The home is at the end of a narrow off the road track so careful driving is recommended at first to get used to it but nothing too difficult. Maria was available if needed although we didn’t need her as the home has everything! All in all a perfect holiday .
