I ordered a king kutter B-148 double belt for my rear finish mower, this is a $148 item. They shipped me a B-148 single belt, which is a $67 item, but billed me for the more expense item. 30 days later still trying to get order fixed. I need to cut grass. I used to like this store, but lately nothing but trouble. I do NOT recommend.
I called for a mower belt
I called for a mower belt. First time I was hung up by Heather. Second time they said they would call back. 2 hours later I called them as I had to work. They did not return my call as promised. Good thing I did not waste the 20 mile drive. Every time I go there it is hard to find help. Do not recommend this store.

Dear Mr Melvin
Dear Mr. Melvin,
I am writing to express my disappointment following a recent visit to your Rural King store located at 2947 S Washington St, Kokomo, IN. While your staff members are helpful and hardworking, the current condition of the facility is unacceptable.
During my visit, I noted that the floors are in poor repair and the bathrooms are unsanitary. Given the overall state of the building , I am concerned about the quality of the environment provided for your staff. Furthermore, the computer systems appear outdated and frequently freeze during transactions, which significantly hinders the efficiency of your employees. Publicly embarrassing their employees is just wrong. I watched a manager at this place named Heather give a cashier a nasty look.
I really hope this is not how you treat your employees who help make your company your money. Mr. Melvin. if so this is disgusting and your employees deserve so much better.
Most distressingly, I was concerned by the living conditions of the animals kept in small metal bins. Both your employees and the animals in your care deserve a much better environment than what is currently being provided at this location.
I hope you will take these concerns seriously and invest in the necessary improvements for this facility.
Sincerely,
Kevin
I have shopped your store as long as it’s been open.
I have shopped your store a long time, typically we go to the front Royal Virginia location, used to be a Kmart. We love the folks there, great staff and great managers. The only real complaint I have is the poor and outdated condition of the restrooms, I’ve never gone to this location and haven’t found a line because the bathrooms are small, dim, not well maintained and extremely outdated. I’m pretty sure these are the same bathrooms that existed as a Kmart ages ago. The lighting is poor, it doesn’t look like you have maintenance on staff, you used to have a nice older gentlemen cleaning everything and I don’t know what happened to him, not sure if he left or what. because it’s not mopped very frequently, smells like urine and doesn’t really have any of the modern conveniences like an air dryer, wall, mounted soap and other hygienic necessities. Additionally, none of the water fountains work, and are left looking aged, broken and rusty. Maybe it’s because the location is so busy, but it always seems to be a little dusty around the edges. While everyone is running around, trying to keep up with putting things on the shelf and paying a little attention to basic upkeep.
We have a small farm in the area. We’ve spent quite a bit of money on supplies from fertilizer to feed and fencing spend everything in between that it takes to take care of our horses and numerous other animals. It’s pretty much our go to place to shop. But as we age, my wife and I find it less and less appealing. We always assumed it was going to be updated but it’s a shame to see it go downhill . It used to be cleaner and there used to be an older guy that always seemed to be walking around doing maintenance, but apparently that’s no longer a thing we’re disappointed and are certainly reconsidering our continued participation as loyal customers. For a company that seems to pride itself on appearances and customers satisfaction, so very little is being done for one of the most important parts observing an older and aging community. Clean and easy access to restroom facilities is a hallmark that many Americans used to judge what corporations really care about, it seems that that’s falling through the cracks. Hopefully someone takes the steps necessary to turn this around especially considering how non-ADA compliant the men’s room seems to be in its ragged state. Well anyways, good luck and God bless.
exceptional service
When I end up dealing with someone like Mary, I wonder what is wrong with the rest of the world. She is friendly, polite and has a heartwarming smile. And she called out to me as I was waiting in line from the service desk to save me some time. Fast, friendly, and polite people like her improve the shopping experience tremendously.

After working at Tractor Supply for 39 years with an exemplary history I retired with zero acknowledgement from management above the store manager. When RK moved to my town I checked them out. I will never shop @ Tractor Supply again. Better prices, service & selection.
Employees are EXPENDABLE HERE!!
Hired as a disabled employee with management and HR knowing it from the start. After completing the overkill of online training, and then less than a days training (5 hours), they throw you to the wolves to close alone for the last 5 hours the store is open, with no closing procedure training at all (constantly calling for help on a radio). When it comes time to close, ALL handguns are taken from the glass floor display cases and each handgun is individually placed in a single soft case (50+ handguns) and then placed in a safe. Having a back disability this repetitive movement of bending with all handguns it aggravated my disability. I notified management that night by email my disability didn't allow me to do such actions repetitively without aggravating my disability (bending occasionally in a slow manner is fine). In my email that same night after closing I asked to work days, instead of closing and was denied. At the time of my on boarding and hiring, closing was not mentioned as the ONLY shift I'd be assigned to work (to get me in the door). I told management I could no longer close because of the repetitive movement, where occasional bending was fine. Management told be if I couldn't work closing I didn't meet business needs and would be removed from the schedule in its entirety.....and I was!
This was the Decatur, Illinois location (Macon County Store #37)
So I give them exact change and it was…
So I give them exact change and it was refused $.23 and they charged me $.25 they always round up instead of round down so they’re constantly ripping you off. I know it’s just pennies but every time you go it’s more pennies they need to know that how the rounding thing really works.
Customer service is non-existent.
There are never enough checkout line open. It takes forever to get out of this (Ocala, Fla.) store. Today the checker was busing talking to another checker and left an item out of my bag. You're not a customer to these people, you're a piece of meat with a wallet. I have no reason to go back to this store, ever.
Refused to send item I ordered on sale, but could buy for higher price
Ordered 3 stock tank heaters from their site, while they were on sale. They shipped me something totally different. So I had to ship them back the wrong item. They waited until they received the wrong item back to tell me that they didn't have any of the tank heaters to send to me. But, I could buy them on their website for a higher price. Called their "customer service" number. They can't help me. No rain check, no trying to find the item for me from a store, nothing! Thanks for trying to bait and switch me, Rural King.

Store #130 is always Great at the Hanover PA. Store, they are always very friendly and attentive, they look you in the eye and engage with a friendly smile and ask if you need help with anything, Always willing to help you.
Serving free popcorn and coffee is a very nice touch too!
The only bad thing I can say is I had a terrible experience trying to buy a 30,00 plus tractor, but it was not any fault of the employees they were always trying very hard to help me and did everything in their power to get the tractor sold to me .
The way corporate headquarters had set it up the loan company that RK has a partnership with Was absolutely a terribly long, stupid and flawed process, it took three tries and 3 hours later in the store then I was finally approved only to find out the loan company way over charged me outrageous loan fees like 2,066.89 for a 30,000 loan
This ticked me off.
So I purchased the tractor with no loan at all, we raided our savings account.
RK also should revisit some of this store policies that adversily make life difficult for the store associates and customers, found out there are many complaints but corporate refuses to fix these issues
I want to give Tractor Matt and Heather very high marks for their outstanding efforts and patience with me, several times, I lost my temper and my patience was wearing out, became quite angry after wasting two and a half days of my time back and forth to the store and spending a few hours on the phone/Emails with Matt.
Twice I threatened to just walk out of the store and not buy the tractor that I need badly.
There were many issues that came up and I will not go into these that kept sabataging this purchase
The store manager was a jerk and only inflamed an already bad situation, so I calmed down a bit and ignored him.
The employees at RK are excellent and I love this store and will go out of my way to drive to PA. To buy things
I live in MD and have done business with a TSC store for 35 years they have gone down hill greatly.
Don't buy much from them anymore.
Thank you Tractor Matt and Heather for your outstanding help and patience with me!
Your both Awesome!

Nope!
Last night, Jan. 27, I went to the Rural King in Clarksville, TN. To get a chainsaw. I wanted a Stihl chainsaw as they are some of the best on the market, and this is one of the closest locations to get one. Before going to the store, I researched online to find what I was looking for and the models I wanted to see. I checked the store’s website, and the same models were in stock for immediate purchase. As we were dealing with snow and ice, I called ahead to confirm the store’s closing time: 9:00 pm. So I bundled up, and my service dog, Atlas, jumped in the truck and headed to the store. This was an hour drive to get there, and would be another hour back home through the snow and ice-covered roads. We passed Tractor Supply, Home Depot, and Lowe’s on the way to Rural King, all of which had chainsaws in stock and ready to sell but they didn’t have Stihl saw. I got to the store just before 6:00 pm and went to the saw section and spent the next 30 minutes looking at the models I had decided to check out. During this time, no one ever checked or asked if they could help. I decided on a saw with a price of $719. I was finally able to flag someone down and advised that I wanted to purchase a saw. I was then informed, “The person covering this section went home, so if you want to buy a saw, you will have to come back tomorrow”. Seriously? No one else in the entire store knows how to unlock a cable and sell a person a saw? A rather expensive one at that. Is there a union rule or something that says someone from another department can’t sell something from a department outside of theirs, or even a shift supervisor? It was bad enough that all of the saws were covered in dust and dirt, a couple even had the white plastic housing yellowed from being used, but still priced at full retail pricing. So I had to schlep back home without the prime reason I got out in the weather to start with! I know my business is just a drop in the bucket for a company like this, but I guess if it doesn’t affect them personally, then they couldn’t care less.
My experience is that the employees…
My experience is that the employees are very, very helpful. Like Gabe he helped us find things and even showed up to help load outback because we had discussed that we needed fence items. The only complaints I would have is that at this time of year the isles are a little cramped so yu can't get a cart through sometimes. Also I have found that any food items with rual kings name is lacking in flavor. There cheese curls are tasteless. And the strawberry Rubarb preserves have a good enough strawberry presents but as for the rubarb I believe they just run the open jars through a room that has some Rubarb in it and on to the sealer. The only Rubarb occupies that jar is on the label. So we don't buy any food stuff but spices if it has the rual king label. Love the store though, love the prices.
good repair experience
we bought a stihl blower and after 2months it wouldn't run . right in the middle of getting up leaves.. we took it for repair at the local rural king in jeff indiana.. out repair person was Jeff. he called us within the hour with the blower fixed.. he was friendly and efficient. we can't say enough good things about him.
I have given this some thought !!!
I have given this some thought as I don't like criticizing situations. This review concerns the new store in Columbus, Miss.and I want to commend how clean and nice the store is. However, I am going to do this review concerning my checkout with Renee the cashier. As I walked up to be checked out she was in a conversation with a young man. Did not see anything on the counter he was buying. I stood there for a few minuates waiting for the conversation to end as it didn't seem to be headed that way. I sat my goods on the counter, still no ending the conservation so I slid my items a little closer. Finally that topic they were talking about ended and the customer said he was going to get himself some free popcorn. Renee said to the young man and I quote, I will get it for you , it will be fresher and hotter from the top. She got a bag and filled it for him. Finally, taking her time she got into a conservation with a fellow employee ignoring me. I asked if they didn't mind, I would like to be checked out and they could talk later. At that the two looked at each other like I said something wrong. Then Renee slowly opened a plastic bag and slowly checked my items. After checking I asked her I would like some of that FRESH HOT POPCORN which she replied that I could go to the machine and get it myself. I told her if she could do that for the customer in front of me, I believed she could do it for me. She said it was all the same. But Renee you just told the young man in front of me that it is fresher and hotter than the popcorn on the bottom. At that she took her scoop and mixed all the popcorn up and gave me a bag. I thanked her and wished her a nice day.I tend to take people on an even level when we meet. From that point it is up to them which way it goes. Renee and the young man and I are of different races being Renee and the young man are the same and me being an older white man. To whom this concerns, you can say something about it or not. I needed to let it be known for I probably will not return to the store because how I was treated by Renee the cashier.

Worst Experience Buying a Gun of my life
I ordered a rifle from their online website 6 weeks ago. Not only has it never shipped, they have never once replied to my emails. I got fed up a week ago & called them. They said it was an error but they found my rifle. Apparently it was hung up in a warehouse that didn't ship guns. He said he fixed that and I would get a tracking number in a few days. It's been a week & no tracking number.
These people are straight up scammers. They wont ship, wont reply to customer service emails, and then lie when you call their store.

I ordered 4 rocking chairs on Order #4570155. 1 was cancelled with no explanation. I received 3 rocking chairs to put together. 1 of the rocking chairs did not have a back. I put the 2 chairs together that was boxed correctly. I want a back for the third chair but can get no response from Customer Service! What kind of place is this??
I applied for a Rural King Credit card…
I applied for a Rural King Credit card they asked if I wanted. After finding there was no yearly fee and I could gain points I said ok. So I was approved and the card came within a week. Tried to activate the card and it would not work. Called the number more then once but it would not work. So called the customer service and since I did not have a cell phone they could not help me with out wanting all kinds of private information. So at that point I told the company to cancel that account.
